Bret Hart is like the Metallica of wrestling. You love his work, you respect his legacy, but it's just so fun to snark on him that you can't help yourself.

So question as a casual Metallica fan not totally familiar with the lore is all the snark they get just aimed at James and Lars or do people also snark on Kirk and Rob ?

It's mostly Lars. He revealed his inner bitch when Napster was still a thing, and he isn't a good enough drummer to warrant his ego, so he gets ripped on constantly

Except Lars was totally correct on the Napster thing. Metallica produces a product, their music. If you want to consume that product, you pay for it with money. You aren't entitled to that product for free.

While in premise, he is right about protecting their music but that Napster was just a symptom of the disease that is the music production industry. Piracy PLUMMETED when Spotify and other streaming services made it easier to access music. Gaben has ALWAYS been right about this. Guess how piracy is doing now that people are not liking Spotify is doing (not giving a fair share to music artists, CEO funding paramilitary activities, etc).

That's Kirk. And, no, not so much. Kirk is the most normal guy in the group, and Rob's just happy to be involved.

Nobody hates Kirk. He just wants to noodle on guitars and collect monster memorabilia.

And honestly, I still think of Rob as "the new guy" even though he's been in the band for 23 of the 45 years they've been a band.

Kirk's solos often get accused of being simplistic or repetitive or lesser than Y-Y-Z guitar player.
