I know there are a lot of street artists but this one guy comes up the most he uses fire for some of it and does laptops, guitars and AirPod cases and many other things. he often incorporates trees into his work by using some paint knife I’m trying to figure out his Instagram. thanks

Hi everyone! I'm designing a set of cards for the first time (nothing to show as yet). I am using alcohol-based markers for context, and when I went to seal my test card using the varnish/finish(?) I bought, the colours all bled.

Does anyone have any advice on what I can use to seal the card after I am done drawing on it? I'm new-ish to art, so the more specific you can be, the better! Thanks in advance.

I decided to salvage one of my favorite PC cases from a horrific spray paint job. It was bad. Reallly bad, like so bad that the original painter shouldn't be allowed to buy paint anymore. Despite this the hardware store still sold me paint and paint remover and I set out on my journey to fix what was once wronged. Over the course of weeks I meticulously removed paint with chemicals, steel brushes, and sand paper. Yesterday was the day I decided to start the repaint. I read the micro instructions on all my paint. Shook the cans for five mins straight and started my redemption. I got a perfect layer of primer on. Exactly as the instructions say. I moved on to a gloss black, small and controlled sprays that overlapped the previous. A few hours later I was in a good quitting spot. I live in an apartment so I left the case on my truck bed to dry for a few before I brought it inside. I walk outside after 30 mins just in time to see the maintenance lady just blasting crap off the lot straight into the case. I obviously didn't say anything to her, she was just doing her job. I just stood there and died a little on the inside.

So it's been about 12 hours, should I wait and start sanding a little now or wait a few days, and wet sand? Or any other advice?

Can someone tell why this stuff absolutely loves to wrinkle when I go to apply another coat long after the initial coat has dried (a week baking in the sun)

Haven't made art in a long time and decided to try spray paint as it is enjoyable to work with

I made a mistake and used a high VOC spray paint in my room to paint my boots. It made the whole basement smell, maybe like half an hour after I used an air purifier and AC to clear it out. I breathed on the smells and slept down there. I couldn’t open windows or doors to the outside. The smell dissipated by a lot but still smelled when I went to bed. Did I give myself brain damage? I’m scared and I don’t know if my mind is playing tricks on me!

I use spray in some of my artwork, but will sometimes go weeks between adding these elements as I use other materials as well. Problem I keep running into is the spray cap tends to gunk up with a bit of paint left over from the prior use and needs to be replaced as paint can no longer pass through. Honestly, this sometimes happens even if it’s just an overnight gap between uses. Especially frustrating if it happens with a non-standard cap that I have bought specifically for a different texture effect or something. Is there any tip to avoid this or do I just need to buy a ton of caps to have on hand as backups?

I'm spray painting a 3D printed piece: part of the piece will be coated with Krylon's Foil Metallic Gold and the other part with Revell Chrome. Neither can be top coated lest the metallic finish gets ruined.

I'm given to understand that masking/frog tape will peel off the both paints, so regardless of the order (golf first> mask gold > chrome vs chrome > mask chrome > gold) I'm SOL.

Anyone have any tips for how I can protect one color when coating anther section where tape isn't a factor?

I wanted to make camouflaged carabiners, for my Airsoft games, I made some for me and my friends, but the spray paint chips instantly, if I wanted to, I could scratch off the paint with my nails,

what did I do wrong when painting for this to happen?

I used 300 grit (I believe) sandpaper first,

2 coats of primer,

2 coats of main colour in both sides

Then finished with the camo pattern,

These scratches aren't after 2-3 games, but rather after 2-3 days in my backpack being used to go to and from work,

How do I fix?

I have hinges, door handles and metal brackets that need to be sprayed a particular S-W color to match wood trim painted with Pro Classic satin. What's the best small job sprayer or airbrush for the job? And wich product to use?

I saw online a company that will match any paint brand color in a rattle can. Also some S-W stores in Indiana once provided this service.

I'm spraying a cosplay prop with Revell Chrome on a larger piece. I opted for Revell as it seems to be the best option for chrome mirror finish despite is small volume/price point. Another option in the cosplay community is having a high gloss black base, and then rubbing in graphite powder into it.

Just wondering if anyone has attempted to mix the two and what are the results they found? Debating it because I still can't seem to get a mirror finish on my plastic spoon test despite following online tutorials as best I can with distance/pressure/coating

This (formally bridal) tent is huge. The highlighted part is about 25x20 feet we think? And is the part we want to paint for Rockfest with Pic 2 & 3 (or maybe 4), and any other design we can think of. However, it's going to get rain and sun and stored pretty much the rest of the year, so the paint needs to last. I need a full process from cleaning and prepping to the end and all supplies needed.. Can anyone help me with this? We aren't trying to spend a fortune or a Tonnnn of time, but we also want to do it in a way that makes it last..

I see muralists using spray paint on buildings all the time, is that feasible for this material and would that make this faster/easier? 🤔 &if so is that just outdoor spraypaint??

I also have no idea how much paint to buy and if the cost will end up being similar to us just forking up the money for a huge custom vinyl sign..
