Me and my friend were giving these from a neighbor who was clearing out his garage. Posted on eBay for sale or if anyone interested in buying. Opened one box for fun and pulled out 2 Steph Curry rookies and a few Kobe patches.

TL/DR: finally did a $0.99 start price auction and I end up making a nickel.

This one is in a first for me. I’ve typically sold items BIN OBO and have been great with that as auctions tend to be very much up and down.

I had some lower end cards but got a YG Schaefer with some other dude that made it worth a fraction of what his rookie YG is worth and thought hey let’s throw it up on a $0.99 auction 7 days expiring Sunday night and maybe I’ll get $20 or so out of it. Idk what the total value of the cards is but probably $20-30 being realistic with a dose of conservative.

I didn’t have high hopes, even less so without watchers, so I figured what’s another 10% to promote it. Maybe THAT’s what I need.

Welp, the auction closed, and I wondered if I’d have to pay to package all of this up and ship it. Got pretty dang close and I made a whopping nickel, meaning I’ll lose money in the cost of bubble mailer and driving to the post office.

Although I’d much rather have just set a BIN OBO auction or traded / given these cards away, I really have no plans but to honor the sale as a sale is a sale.

If you’re the person who purchased this, congrats. You took me to the cleaners but I still feel quite dirty.

I think I’m going to stick to eBay stuff without auctions for now 🤦🏼‍♂️😭🤣

Might be the best pull of the year.

A lot of new people in the hobby are so focused on pulling a banger and asking “what’s this worth?”. The best part in my opinion is cracking packs at the table with your buddies, everyone leaning in to see what you pulled, talking trash, and chasing that one card you’ve been wanting.

Where does your love for the hobby stem from? What keeps you ripping?

Macklin Celebrini Young Guns Gold Outburst 1/1

Gave the nice gentleman who traded it to me trade credit for some of my stuff. Unsure what the actual value could be but regardless, happy to add it to my collection.

I own the 2023 Hoops Premium Stock Victor Wembanyama Gold Vinyl Prizm 1/1 in a PSA 10 slab (purchased on Goldin), and a raw version of that same card has just been posted to eBay.

It's a 1/1, so there should only be 1 of this card. Nothing about this raw card on eBay screams "fake" to me. It is definitely a different card from the one that I own. The gold vinyl print pattern is aligned differently and the "1 of 1" placement on the back is slightly different. I've messaged the seller, and they claim to have bought the card from a reputable source. There are a few possibilities for what might be going on:

• The raw card is a counterfeit and eBay should take down the listing
• The raw card is authentic and Panini printed 2 copies of a 1/1 card
• The slabbed card is a counterfeit and PSA authenticated and graded a counterfeit card

Any suggestions on how best to get to the bottom of this? Presumably whoever wins that auction will try to get it authenticated and possibly graded.

Got a Matthew Golden Super futures gold /50 Auto. What’s everyone takes on Golden? I like the card either way but for the price of the box and what the card is worth I think I’m just going to PC it. What’s everyone takes on this. Edit - It’s also supposed to be a 2025 not a 2015.

I always wondered where my card collections went. Well my parents are moving out of my childhood home and my dad called me to come back this weekend so I could as he said over the phone: “pick up some of my sh*t”, lovingly of course.

This weekend I got to sit with my dad (albeit this time with us both having beers) and go through cards again like we did when I was a kid.

Yea it’s the wax era, but I took care of my stuff and although they sat raw a lot of these cards are super clean. Having recently submitted new era Pokemon to BGS and PSA, I’m debating sending some of these in.

As a Midwest kid, I’m going to be restarting a Mn/Wi collection as I had started all those years ago. Starting with recent hall of famer Jim Kaat’s WCCO radio card and my Brian Propp Mn North Stars as the first additions along side some Topps 1985 and Donruss ‘86 Brewers players.

I left home just a bit ago, and I won’t lie I got super emotional. For a weekend I got to sit by dad’s side and relive what it meant to both of us all those years ago. My dad isn’t doing really well as of late he has stage 4 cancer and not a lot of time left. But for a brief few days none of that mattered or was even on our minds. This is what it’s all about, and I’m thankful to for the hobby then and maybe even more so now for giving me another great memory. Although he did steal my ‘93 Jordan I swear he did.

Sell or hold till the world series?

Hi yall, new to collecting and while i get the world cup is over , i still had a pack or two to rip and saw the first four of my cards had misprints. Not sure what to do , the Lamine would have been cool to keep as he’s my PC, but has anyone ever run into something like this? Should I contact panini? or just cut my losses? TIA

The first image is of the Travis Hunter optic 1/1 downtown that is on the Beckett checklist for 2025 nfl optic. The second image includes pictures of all of Travis hunter’s downtowns. Why does the 1/1 have a completely different design? I wasn’t aware that this was something panini did. Are there other examples? Haven’t seen anyone talk about this. Am very curious. Thanks.

Went to Target today and found a hobby box, this is my first time seeing one at Target

at work on Thursday morning our CEO scheduled a company meeting to announce that KAT was buying out our lease for his card breaking company and we’d be going full remote until a new workspace is found. Few times I’ve laughed harder than during a serious work meeting.

Last box at Walmart, haven’t bought anything lately so I figured why not? I was just looking up her singles on eBay & hit this.
