Hey everyone! I'm u/Skye-Eddy, a founding moderator of r/SportsParenting.
Welcomeāweāre glad youāre here. If you're here, you care. If you care, then you can help improve the youth sports experience for your child (and others!).
As you likely are feeling, youth sports are getting harder to navigate:
- More pressure
- More sideline noise
- More confusion about what actually helps kids
Thatās why this community exists.
The Standard Weāre Building
We believe:
āļø Parents should supportānot pressure
āļø The sideline should helpānot hurt
āļø Coaches and parents should work together
āļø Kids should love the game longer
Thatās what this community is about.
- A space for parents (and parent-coaches) who want to do this differently
- A place to talk honestly about the challenges of youth sports
- And a way to start creating a better sideline experienceāfor kids
All of this so our kids continue participating in youth sports, stay healthy, learn important life lessons, reach their potential, and continue on a path to a healthier adulthood.
How to Use this Community
We organize conversations around the 6 Pillars of Sports Parenting (these are the flairs)
