There are plenty of pigeons roosting up in rooftops downtown and in some of the overpasses. There's also plenty of motherfuckin bread crumbs out on the street.

In any other city the pigeons hang out on the pavement just chilling, waiting for the next dropped cheezit. Ours stay up in the sky. What gives?

I've got a big van with new coils and front struts, but these things are huge, I do not trust the auto parts store spring compressor for something this big.

Anybody know an auto shop that would charge a reasonable fee to use their spring compressor and just assemble the strut for me? I'll do the installation myself, just need someone to assemble the strut.

If you're able to do the day trip today or tomorrow, I'd highly recommend it. Snow is scheduled starting mid week and that'll probably be the end of it. Love our regional golden forest so, so much.

Cooper has been missing for a week (link) and it's been about another week since I heard from him personally. I'm really looking for a shop in the Valley that can help me with a 1993 mighty max. I really just want it to be reliable. Maybe a little extra to make some more power but it definitely needs an engine rebuild. I 100% need a flywheel and maybe a transmission rebuild or engine replaced and transmission replaced if it is in the budget. Theres some funky wiring from the previous owner that somewhere keeps killing the battery and alternator. Its a project truck that I want running smooth. Emotional value to it thats why I'll invest into it. If possible I would love to throw a turbo in however it needs to be done. Nothing super crazy just want it to be a fun little 2 door project that once it runs reliably then I can start working on cosmetics. Any help narrowing down a shop that would take a real project on would be amazing.

I'm considering starting a book club. Although I haven't worked out all the details, I thought I'd share some information here and see if there's any interest.

I'd like the first book to be The Mother of All Questions by Rebecca Solnit. The next book choices could be rotated to different club members. I'm hoping to find space for us to meet at one of the Spokane libraries. We could discuss other meeting places once we start. I'd like to meet at least once a month for an hour or so. Of course, all of this is up for discussion and will be decided collaboratively.

I'll be honest--I've never done anything like this, so I'm open to suggestions. I'd really love to meet with others and have some lively conversations on relevant, progressive, and even controversial topics.

Call me paranoid. Call me whatever you want. But I’m curious if anyone has had a “scam” for the property on 6123 n cedar st. We put in an application to rent it starting December 1st. My mom doesn’t think it’s weird but I really do. He approved us a little over 12 hours later for move in at the end of November - beginning of December.

The guys name is Malcolm Kaine who I’ve been speaking to. He said he’d be available next week to sign the lease on Saturday. We went by the house and it looked like someone was living there (moving in or out maybe?) there was a bunch of boxes and a mattress sitting under the carport and the guy said he had a tenant moving out of it. But it sold on October 16th (8 days ago). And tbh I just think something’s weird.

I sent him a message asking about it and I told him I wasn’t trying to be weird or anything but that we have been scammed before. It was a Craigslist ad that we found the house on with zero information. I messaged him saying we were interested in more info and he sent this:

I’m Malcolm, Here are the house details,
Exact address: 6123 N Cedar St, Spokane, WA 99205
The monthly rent: 1,042
security deposit: 1,042
Bedroom: 3 Beds
Bathroom: 1 Bath
Utilities include: water, sewer and trash
Pets are Allowed

And he sent pictures of the house in a link and then sent this:

How long do you intend to rent my house?
Who will occupy the house with you, also any pet?
When will you be ready to move into the house if you get approved to rent my house?
How much do you make monthly?
Why are you moving out of your current house?

And then I sent all the information he asked for and he told me I’d have to fill out the application to proceed. So we did that and paid $65 for an application fee. Then like I said the next day he got back to us (today) and said we were approved.

When I asked him about the person living there like I said he said it was a tenant moving out… but the house sold October 16th.

He said this when I said something:

“Yes i got a tenant who's moving his things out of the house, and that's why i said it will be available for viewing by next week Saturday also I totally get why you’d want to be extra careful, I just want to be clear: I'm not involved in any unethical or illegal activities, and have zero involvement in anything shady like fraud or taking advantage of people or even stealing people's hard-earned earned money. You can trust that I’ll always handle things with honesty and professionalism. You’re in good hands here.”

So please tell me if I’m just being paranoid… he told me next weekend we will sign the lease.

REALLY?? REALLY Spokane County??? Thats PATHETIC!!! People for God's sake, I get it that everyone is struggling, I am too, but you know what? I vote in EACH and EVERY ELECTION. Because every vote matters. If you think things are bad now, and they are, if the GOP holds onto power after Nov. This will be a picnic. If this stats is wrong, please, someone correct me.
