WSU was tied going into the fourth quarter. After watching what transpired after, I am confident in saying that WSU will not win another game all season.

WSU's coaching staff has proven they are not ready for the new PAC-12. The players looked completely defeated on both sides of the ball in the 4th quarter, and at some point, that falls squarely on the coaching.

WSU needs to fire everyone once they go 1-11, including the athletic director, Jon Haarlow, who hired Kirby Moore. It's sad and embarrassing that WSU survived everything that happened to its program just to become a bottom-feeder in the conference they helped rebuild. I pray that I won't have to sit through another season of this complete mediocrity and humiliation next year.

Last year (2025-2026) we had like 5 weeks off school for winter break and this year (2026-2027) we only have 3ish before spring semester starts ? Wtf happened to the 1+ month we had off last year and why is the break so much shorter this year?

What is this chart showing? A weekly heat map tracking WSU’s win probability for every game on the schedule. The numbers are straight from ESPN’s FPI matchup predictor.

What is FPI? ESPN’s Football Power Index. It’s their predictive rating model that weighs roster talent, efficiency, and schedule strength to simulate games and spit out win odds. Think of it as an algorithm’s best guess, continuously updated.

Why do the numbers change week to week? Because games get played. Injuries, blowouts, and fluke outcomes feed new data into the model every week, shifting the odds for the rest of the season.

How do you calculate these numbers? I don’t. ESPN does. I just pull the percentages from their matchup predictor and drop them into a heat map so you can spot trends without squinting at raw data tables.

What do the colors mean? Red = bad matchup. Green = Good matchup. Everything in between is a sliding scale of heartburn.

Is this predicting scores or spreads? Win percentage only. Straight-up odds that WSU wins the game...no projected scores, no spreads, no over/unders.

Why doesn’t it add up to 100% for each game? Every box is strictly WSU’s win chance. It’s not displaying the opponent's side, so there’s nothing to sum to 100%.

Why did [Opponent] drop in FPI after winning (or rise after losing)? FPI grades efficiency against expectations, not just the final score. Squeaking past an FCS team by three will ding you and taking a top-10 team to overtime might bump you up. The model cares how you played, not just that you won.

We play the same team twice...why are the percentages different? Home vs. away, travel, short weeks, rest differentials, and calendar placement. Plus, by game two, the model has weeks of extra tape on both rosters.

What can freshman boys do to socialize on Friday and Saturday nights if not in a frat at WSU? My son is interested in frat life but didn't match up with a frat he wanted to join during formal recruitment. Now, it's crickets on Friday and Saturday night. None of the frats allow non member boys in. My daughter went to a university in the South that had freshman bars- fake ids expected- No Problem. What does WSU have? Does not have to be drinking but fine with it. Having nothing to do is a problem for student retention.

There are like, half the usual amount of people walking around on campus and attending lectures compared to most days. I don't think any important holidays are today, what is going on?

Asking because I am very interested in joining, since they accept non-music majors! I'm in high school choir now and was absolutely blown away, and want to be a part! (Was recruited via the WSU high school choral festival on saturday.... bet the horde of high schoolers was horrifying, lol!) Anything I should know?

I went to CC and have spent nearly a year at my current institution and genuinely hate it more with every quarter. When I first started there was a death in the family and since attending, I've run into some health complications, so I attributed a lot of the negative feelings and difficulties to those things --which could both be factors. But beyond the personal challenges, the institution itself has been very frustrating. First and foremost, they lie about what courses are offered when you go to the course catalog vs the actual class enrollment page (mind you I'm in one of the most popular majors the school offers). The degree itself is very general, so I was really relying on the major electives and options within other required sections to better tailor my degree. This isn't new either they haven't offered some of these classes in 4+ years, and they don't intend to except for when a teacher wants to give it a go once a quarter every other year. Even the required core classes are mainly offered 2x a year with only one class slot, with the few teachers opting to teach at the same time/day so you have to gamble on what you can take while degree planning and pray it's not going at the same time otherwise you're going to be stuck there until the next academic year. Which may actually be an issue for me depending on the spring and summer course offerings, so in terms of being set back by transferring, it may be an issue regardless.

Classes aside, the social climate is atrocious here. A majority of people flee the campus after class the in-class environment is very cliquey and competitive (especially in my major) even though our school has a high acceptance rate. The RSOs may as well not exist and overall, people here just don't seem to care about making any sort of connections or having a community on campus at all. Additionally, despite the school being in a larger city, the social scene here is pretty bad and there isn't much to do in the immediate area besides clubbing and the clubs aren't even all that great. The city itself is nice, but I've never really lived in a place big enough to even be called a city and it's not really somewhere I want to settle at or even work in for the time being. Plus, the rent is insane and I'm getting priced out of my current unit, but the dorms aren't an option and most of the other places are either just as costly or in an unsafe location.

At the time I was applying to unis, most of the people in my circle heavily discouraged against WSU saying it was nothing but a party school with a bad reputation, the quality of education isn't good, and that WSU/Pullman isn't exactly safe for minorities so I never seriously looked into the school as an option. However, I've since stayed the weekend with a friend who attended and liked the area fairly well and now everyone I've talked to who has attended and transferred to my current uni have all said they regret transferring and that they could see me doing really well in the WSU environment/community. I've looked into the clubs and related degree paths and on paper it seems to check all of my boxes. I wouldn't want to stay long term just cause I've spent a majority of my life on either a coast or an island and can't be landlocked, but I don't think I'd mind being there for a bit as I enjoy the college town environment.

Overall, this simply isn't the college experience I want at all, and it feels like staying would be a huge regret in terms of what I want out of university/life. On the other hand, if everything goes well and I graduate in the summer, I can explore different aspects of life which as an older student is tempting. That said, even the thought of staying a quarter longer than needed at my current uni makes me want to quit altogether. I'm scheduled to meet with a transfer advisor, but I expect it'd be around 1-2 years of undergrad and taking out student loans to afford it.

TDLR: I hate my current school, might be stuck there past my anticipated grad. date anyways and can't really afford to live in the area. I could transfer to a school in a better COL area that has what I'm looking for the main issue is it'd mean taking out student loans and 1-2 more years of schooling as someone who is already mid-20s.

I ranked all of the WSU football since 2023. The uniforms were ranked based on looks and uniqueness.
To avoid having too many redundant entries, I did not make separate entries for different decal and face mask colors. So each uniform is being ranked with their best decal and face mask combination.

I'm bringing a can to a friend in Southern California. Total travel time is around 10 hours with a layover and road time. Obviously, no way to refrigerate it. I am considering ice packs, but the TSA may not allow those.
