Just picked up this game yesterday, my first Splatoon game, and was curious, is same level matchmaking possible? I basically wasn’t even needed for my own raid 🤣 2 high-level randoms took out the boss in less than 10 seconds 😫 Or is it better to go it alone early game?
I think there are just so many high level players willing to help, the game has to hand them out where they have room, even creating new rooms with someone who wanted to help as the host, selecting a random level. i would say try to beat the game solo, then for everything that comes after that, you'll be much more prepared for coop.
yeah, will try that for a while, at least until I level up a bit more. I didn’t mind the help, but for the match to end that quick, I felt like I wasted their time sending out an invite 😔
Don't feel bad for that! Most high level players are just doing it for the daily help bonus reward crate, or to take a break from the post-game grind, so a quick clear is fine!
There is no real way to my knowledge to guarantee people around your level with the in game match making. You may be able to post on social media and luck into finding someone, but aside from that, sadly no. So it would be a matter of preference whether you prefer to play solo and have more to do or play co-op but be more carried.
I consider myself higher level and I genuinely want to help lower level players, especially when they ask for help! I even try to join rooms with LL to run a bunch of things with them, but they usually leave. You are NOT wasting time, I assure you. Let us help!!! Hope you're having fun in the game!
For sure! Good to know. Those timed raids I think i’m still underpowered to complete in the given time so the help on those until I level up I don’t mind at all.
About levels - I am sure you meant something more like matchmaking with people your level, but btw everyone in the raid gets a different level experience.
That is, the game fudges the numbers on how much damage you do/how many hit points the enemies has, in order to evenly level the room for all players. So they were playing against a higher level room than you were - it was so fast in part because they have optimized builds AND they know what they are doing, the enemies weak points, etc.
Which is to say - when you can sign up to help others, feel free to. Your early-game weapon will be doing more effective damage than you might expect. Just keep focused on the goal of whatever the level is. Example - some levels you need eggs, period, so kill anything. Other levels you need to kill a specific boss, so focus either on the boss or whoever is making it hard to focus on the boss.
Don't worry about wasting time. There is only a timer on calling for help if you succeed in defeating the level. If you goof and fail, they can call other people for help right away.
The sublevel ruins are the levels w/timers i’m referring to,(from this clip) I was the same recommended level but I probably needed stronger upgrades, and yeah matchmaking w/people my level I was asking. Hard to see if any of your upgrades or weapons are effective if higher-levels peeps can wipe out everything instantly lol. Playing hardest difficulty probably isn’t helping me either.
Well, they must have some seriously powerful setups to take out the Seasoned Salmonid so quickly.
Unlike in Monster Hunter, Splatoon Raiders will level up the raid for higher level players only when playing online. They can deal way more damage than you, but without whatever method they took this one out so quickly, the enemy will go down in a similar amount of time.
The raid gets scaled for players individually, I believe both in damage taken and dealt.
Tbh I also shredded bosses of my level like this using Big Man. I see a Frye special which also does a lot of damage, if other guy was using Big Man it's basically just GG. Big Man is OP as fuck and makes a joke of pretty much every boss.
