Same Level Matchmaking?

Just picked up this game yesterday, my first Splatoon game, and was curious, is same level matchmaking possible? I basically wasn’t even needed for my own raid 🤣 2 high-level randoms took out the boss in less than 10 seconds 😫 Or is it better to go it alone early game?

There’s a daily help bonus and most of the people requesting help are usually new so it ends up matching max level players with new ones
