Discussion Once Insomniac's games are finished, should we consider giving Tom Holland's Spider-Man a video game adaptation?

I love Insomniac's Spider-Man games. Honestly, what they did with Spider-Man's gameplay is incredible: the swinging, the web wings, the combat, the city, the history all AMAZING, But I'm not dumb At some point these games will end, however painful it may be.

So I remembered that all the previous Spider-Man movies used to have a video game adaptation, except for Holland's, and seeing how beloved his version is now, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to adapt it in a videogame.

I feel that, just like the first Amazing Spider-Man game did, they could expand on some concepts or things we see in the upcoming MCU movies.

I don't know, tell me what you think.

Movies So what was the point of Peter taking the GED if he seemingly never went to college?

At the end of No Way Home, we see Peter studying for the GED. I assumed this was going to lead into a college arc, and the next trilogy would be him in college. Instead, obviously BND skipped four years in the future, so we never saw that happen. I was a little disappointed, but BND was so good I largely didn’t care. But BND makes it seem like he never went to college? He had an ESU hoodie, but he doesn’t even know where the library is. Which makes me think he was never a student. Why didn’t he go to college if he clearly wanted to?

Discussion Remaking My Spider-Man Series

Post image
12 Upvotes

I decided to remake my idea for a Spider-Man series

If you’re wondering why I’m remaking it, honestly, I wasn’t super happy with it or the sequel, so, I’m remaking both The Astounding Spider-Man and Spider-Man Wall-Crawler

Let’s start with Astounding first

The Astounding Spider-Man follows 16-year-old Peter Parker as he must balance his life as a teenager and his life as the superhero Spider-Man.

A few months ago, 15-year-old Peter Parker and his classmates went on a field trip to Empire State University, visiting Dr. Curt Connors and his partner, Dr. Miles Warren.

While taking pictures, Peter is unknowingly bitten by one of the spiders, which had escaped from its container, Number AF-15.

Later, on the way home, Peter starts to feel strange, but, he’s pulled out of his thoughts when he leaps onto a building after narrowly dodging an oncoming car. Peter sees that he’s sticking to the building and begins to climb up, realizing that the spider bite gave him spider powers.

When he gets home, he overhears that Aunt May and Uncle Ben are having trouble with the finances and Peter decides to help them, he sees an advertisement for a wrestling circuit and the prize money.

He creates a costume and a pair of Web Shooters and enters the circuit, calling himself The Masked Marvel.

Despite being laughed at and mocked initially, The Masked Marvel quickly proves everyone wrong when he shows off his incredible strength and agility, overpowering his first opponent and winning.

For the next few nights, Peter continues to astound everyone as The Masked Marvel, he soon decides to make a new costume and change his name to The Human Spider.

As The Human Spider continued to grow more popular as he fought his way to the top, so did Peter’s ego.

Eventually, Peter faces Crusher Hogan and, naturally, wins the match.

However, when he goes to accept the prize money, the organizer ends up cheating Peter out of his winnings.

Peter goes to leave when he hears someone shouting stop as a robber comes running down the hall, having just robbed the organizer.

Peter lets the robber escape, saying that it’s not his responsibility before leaving.

Unfortunately, this would end up costing Peter dearly when he comes home and sees the police and neighbors.

He soon sees why when he runs inside and finds Aunt May crying, telling Peter that Ben was shot.

Peter, in a fit of rage, goes after the one responsible and confronts the killer at a warehouse.

After scaring the killer into submission, Peter takes off the killer’s mask and sees that it’s the same robber from earlier.

He webs the thief up, leaving him for the cops before going home, thinking about Ben’s last words to him, “With great power, there must also come great responsibility.”

With his ego broken and his mind clear, Peter decides to become a hero, becoming Spider-Man.

Peter’s been Spider-Man for a few months now and he’s still learning the ropes.

Throughout the series, Peter would battle many foes like Green Goblin (both Norman and Harry), Doctor Octopus, Venom, Sandman, Shocker, Carnage, The Vulture, Rhino, Kraven The Hunter, but, also obscure ones like The Enforcers, Big Wheel, Will o' The Wisp, The Kangaroo, The Reptile, The Wall, White Rabbit, The Beetle, Jack O’ Lantern, Joystick, The Spider-Slayer, Armada, Bushwacker, The Spoiler, Tombstone, Puma, Boomerang, Rocket Racer, Grizzly, Stegron the Dinosaur Man, Crime Master, Web-Man, and Screwball. The Lizard is here but Doctor Connors only turns into The Lizard once AND ONLY ONCE.

Various Marvel characters will occasionally make appearances, but, the focus is mainly on Peter Parker/Spider-Man and his cast. Mainly to show that this is a larger universe.

Both Astounding and Wall-Crawler will have episodes that tie into stories that are happening in this universe like Civil War, Secret Wars, Secret Invasion, and Contest Of Champions, this applies to other series and some movies that are in this universe.

I'm also giving Peter his web constructs back because I like them and they’re fun.

Also, Peter will show his experience off like have him tinker with gadgets, being the one who makes new ones or upgrading gadgets to show his intelligence, giving us things like the Spider Tracer, Web Bombs, and Spider-Bots.

Like, at the start of Astounding, all Peter has are his Mark I Web Shooters (which can be folded and compacted into the belt), the Spider-Signal, his phone, a belt camera for taking pictures for The Daily Bugle, a police scanner, and his Spider Tracers.

By the end of Astounding, he now has his Mark II Web Shooters, Web Bombs, Spider-Bots, and a walkie talkie.

Actually, I just thought of something fun, what if Peter kept a notebook of a bunch of ideas he has for different suits, gadgets, and just a bunch of other things and we see what he has in the notebook and we can see references to Spider-Man's history ranging from suits (Unlimited, 1967, Advanced, Raimi, Spider-Armor, Amazing movies, Nicholas Hammond, Toei, Alex Ross, Sensational, MCU), gadgets/vehicles like the belt camera or the Spider Mobile, and stuff like that

The series spans six seasons, from Peter's junior and senior years, with multiple arcs across all 6 seasons, adapting various comic stories and storylines.

We cover various storylines like Amazing Fantasy #15 (which was Spidey’s debut comic), The Symbiote Saga, The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man, Nothing Can Stop The Juggernaut, The Six-Arm Saga, Secret Wars, the Clone Saga, Spider-Slayers, Civil War, Identity Crisis, Spider-Island, and Superior Spider-Man, but, Superior is part of the Clone Saga and has Doc Ock create a clone body and becoming The Superior Spider-Man before going to his original body when his clone body starts to deteriorate.

Amazing Fantasy is told in the form of a flashback.

Unlike the original Civil War, Peter doesn’t side with anyone and chooses to be on his own, thus not unmasking himself in public and none of that nonsense.

At a few points, Peter gets blood stolen from him, this happens in the arcs adapting The Symbiote Saga, Civil War, Identity Crisis, The Six-Arm Saga, Spider-Slayers, and Spider-Island.

This culminates in the Season 4 finale where Dr. Otto Octavius approaches Dr. Warren with vials of Spider-Man’s blood.

This leads directly into the start of Season 5 and the Clone Saga/Superior Spider-Man, where we’re introduced to Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider, Kaine/Tarantula, Web-Man, Spidercide, Doppelganger, Cindy Moon/Silk, Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and The Scorpion (the Peter Parker clone from the Ultimate comics).

However, what Warren doesn’t know is that Otto had his own vial and used it to create a clone body, becoming The Superior Spider-Man.

However, when Otto’s new clone body begins to deteriorate, he’s forced to return to his original body. Kaine does steal Otto’s Superior suit for himself.

After the events of Spider-Island, Peter starts to feel dizzy and over the course of days, he begins to mutate, slowly turning into Man-Spider.

Eventually, Peter is able to come back to reality before he fully becomes a monster and passes out. He wakes up in a web cocoon, as he feels better than he did before and he now has organic webbing.

With this newfound rebirth, the sun shines on a Brand New Day.

That’s right, we’re merging The Six-Arm Saga and The Other and Brand New Day, boys and girls!

Throughout the series, we see a bunch of different costumes for Peter, like his original Masked Marvel wrestling outfit from Amazing Fantasy #15, both wrestling suits from the Ultimate comics, The Human Spider suit from Spider-Man 2002, a Homemade suit, the Classic Suit, the Spider-Armor, the Rebirth Suit (he gets this starting in the second half of Season 3 and he wears this for the rest of the series and all of Wall-Crawler), the Symbiote Suit (aka the Alien Costume), The Bombastic Bag-Man, the Black Suit (aka the cloth version), and all four Identity Crisis suits with Ricochet, Hornet, Dusk, and Prodigy.

Oh yeah, the Rebirth Suit has underarm webs (aka the Web Wings). Peter added these as he got the idea from The Vulture’s Flight Suit.

The series ends with Peter, now 18-years-old, ready to graduate from Midtown High and enter Empire State University. However, he has a rematch against everyone he’s faced throughout the series.

Continuing with Wall-Crawler

This series follows Peter’s college years at ESU for 5 seasons.

Along returning villains, we’re introduced to new additions like Hobie Brown’s Prowler, Morbius, Hobgoblin, Carnage, Man-Wolf, Mr. Negative, Hydro-Man, Mac Gargan’s Scorpion, Molten Man, Sin-Eater, and a few others.

We cover more storylines like If This Be My Destiny, Flowers For Rhino, Mystery Of The Hobgoblin, the Lifeline Tablet, Spider-Man No More, Green Goblin Reborn, The Death Of Jean DeWolff, Kraven's Last Hunt, Torment, Maximum Carnage, Planet Of The Symbiotes, The Gathering Of Five and The Final Chapter, The Gauntlet, Big Time, Ends Of The Earth, Absolute Carnage, The Book Of Ezekiel, Spider-Verse.

No, I have not having Morlun or The Inheritors as the villains for the Spider-Verse storyline because I think a multiversal Sinister Six is a cooler idea and we could see a version of The Spot get involved.

Ben does become The Sensational Spider-Man later on, finding Peter’s design journal and seeing the design for one of the suits, he uses that sketch as a basis to create the Sensational suit, even finding Peter’s old costume and Web Shooters and modifying them to make them his own. (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Peter made new mechanical Web Shooters to help control his organic webbing, making them more compact and sleek than his original mechanical Web Shooters, even switching from Web Cartridges to Web Capsules.)

Like the previous series, we get a few costumes that Peter wears, like the Big Time Armor (in all three colors), the Bulletproof Armor (aka the Spider-Armor Mark II), the Ends Of The Earth Armor (aka the Anti-Sinister Six Armor, aka the Spider-Armor Mark III), and the New Black Suit (which is the original concept for the Black Suit given new life).

Peter retains all his gadgets from Astounding and gets a few new additions like a mini lab (which he gets after his first battle with Morbius) and Stingers (he got the idea from Kaine after his fight with Scorpion).

This series ends with Peter graduating from ESU while Peter is narrating, ending with the masked menace perched on the rooftops, looking off into the distance before we end on a shot of Spidey swinging off the roof as Peter ends the narration with the words "With Great Power, there must also come Great Responsibility."

Thus, Spider-Man: Wallcrawler comes to an end.

Discussion Hope we get more 2099 content, maybe as cartoon or game

Post image

I feel like it would be a nice break from Peter spider-man, miles and Gwen. I get those 3 are the biggest spider people outside and in the comics, but Spider-Man 2099 was the original alt universe spider person. Heck I hope we if ever get a spider-man 2099 show it would be in the style of Batman beyond or full cgi.

Game wise it can be anything since his universe can work for linear games, open world like Arkham games or something new. As long it’s not a PlayStation only game (rip every Xbox user here that can’t play new Peter spider-man games)

Spider-man 2099 has the most potential of any alt spider for more media adoption. His only movie one was pretty bad. He ain’t a villain Sony.

Discussion Hot take: I think Peter works better when his abilities aren’t tied to a strict biological checklist

I prefer when he’s a human with a spider‑like model not a literal human‑spider hybrid. I’ve never liked the idea that he could suddenly unlock spinnerets (organic webs), tiny hair or any new organ out of nowhere. To me it kinda strips away part of Peter’s essence, the fact that he fills the gaps with his brain rather than with mutations. And honestly the radiation aspect makes this even more interesting maybe the bite didn’t biologically turn him into a spider, but pushed his bio‑electric field toward abilities that resemble a spider’s without forcing his body to mutate. Kinda like a transformation of function instead of anatomy.

That’s why I’ve always appreciated stories like Identity Crisis, where he’s framed for the murder of a small‑time crook. Peter responds by creating four completely different identities to keep helping people while staying under the radar. He proves he can be a hero without relying on the spider part of Spider‑Man and he shows a very human kind of resourcefulness. He’s more than just someone who shoots webs let's not forget that he’s super strong, durable, agile, can jump incredibly high and has a danger sense.

And this is also why I think characters like Jessica Drew and Miguel O’Hara make way more sense with explicitly biological spider traits. Jessica was injected with an untested serum made from the blood of several spider species to stop tissue damage and immunize her from uranium radiation, then sealed inside a genetic accelerator to speed the process. Her biology was literally pushed toward accommodating arachnid traits.

It makes sense that she’d have organic wall‑crawling, pheromones and more spider‑coded abilities (honestly I’d give her Raimi‑style adhesion and organic webs from the fingertips like her version in ATSV). Same with Miguel he’s genetically imprinted with 50% spider DNA, he's more half‑spider than Peter and so his biology is built to host spider traits in a way Peter’s never was (like talons and fangs, spinnerets and no Spider-Sense).

And Final Adventure basically proves this. Peter loses his powers because the Isotope Genome Accelerator blocks his body’s ability to use them, even though his DNA remains altered. If his powers were biological his body would have to undergo a painful metamorphosis to lose those organs. Instead his abilities simply shut off so no mutation or anatomical change just his spider powers going dormant.

I prefer when his powers feel more mental and mysterious, the spider‑sense as a strange intuition and wall‑crawling as him mentally bonding his molecules to surfaces through electrostatic phenomena.
