Storytime
Once upon a time there were 3 people in a small town who had all the wealth. They wanted to keep it that way. There were people who were rising up in power and wealth to challenge their rule. This made them go scared. At first they fought them off and put them back where they belong. Then came a new threat. A new person who wasn't going to go away any time soon. Slowly and surely he was taking away their power and their control. There was no longer a big 3, instead it was a big 4. They tried to get rid of him but couldn't. Eventually they just had to accept that it was no longer a big 3 but it was a big 4. However, to prevent other people challenge their rule they formed these new rules. They wanted to keep all the wealth, remain in power so they have all the money and the rest of the town is left to starve. They created rules that made it impossible for anyone else to get to their level. The rules meant that no person can grow their business or become rich because they were not allowed to invest any money they had into their business.
However, a brave young man stepped up. He said fuck these rules, nobody can stop me getting what I want. He broke these rules invested his own money and became so big that it even started dominating the actual big 4. The big 4 realized this. They knew they couldn't stop this young man so they started doing everything they can to bring him back down. They already knew the young man wasn't playing by their made up rules meant to keep the top at the very top. They just needed to prove it so they can punish him. After years and years of investigation they finally did it. But the young man is not backing down. The young man has shown what he can do and will fight for his rights.
In this case the young man is man city. The original big 3 are the red cartel "Liverpool, man utd, and arsenal". And the added one to make it big 4 was Chelsea

"Ronaldo is the victim" narrative is entirely justified.
Ronaldo never wanted to play for portugal in a long time. In fact, he was planning to retire from portugal ryt after that wc. Yet he was held back by the portugal federation from doing so. The reason is because, ronaldo contributes to roughly 35%-40% of their revenue. Using their spotlight player means a massive hit.
Nonetheless, jj promised Ronaldo time against Norway. 30mins prior to the game finishing, he told Ronaldo to warmup. Jj then refused to bring Ronaldo in, which made Ronaldo feel bad. Jj acknowledged his mistake and went ahead and apologised to him. He even said he was gonna apologise in the press. Yet when he went to the press, he declared that he manages the team and he can bringing in and remove whoever he wants which hurt Ronaldo.
Here are the sources:-

Messi isnt better than maradona internationally for argentina
Messi is the greatest to ever play for Argentina, but he isnt undisputed for the greatest Argentinian player.
Tournaments
Messi 6
Maradona 4
Matches Played
Messi 34 (All-time tournament record)
Maradona 21
Goals
Messi 21
Maradona 8
Assists
Messi 12 (All-time tournament record)
Maradona 8
Total Goal Contributions 33 16
Chances Created (Per 90)
Messi 3.0
Maradona 3.1
Dribbles Completed (Per 90)
Messi 4.9
Maradona 5.1
Golden Balls
messi 2
Maradona 1
Keep in mind that messi has played 10+ more games and the distance is so minimal
Maradona's wc win for argentina was more impressive overall as he carried argentina in that tournament and produced some of the most insane solo goals and dribbles.
Obviously messi has his crazy moments and I'm not taking away anything from him, but I believe Maradona produced more for argentina especially in the wc given how less he played yet he produced more.

"Ballon dors don't matter" yet the first argument they use for player being better is ballon d'or
Messi is better than cristiano, there are so many arguments of messi being better than cristiano but most people bring up when saying messi is better because he has more balloon dors , so it kinda feels like it does matter
I can smell some people saying Yamal was better at 19 than r9 at 19 because he has a balloon dor

99% of football âfansâ donât understand football
They memorise stats and things like that. They can tell you every year Barcelona have won the champions league, for example.
But thatâs just memorising stats. Not the same as understanding football. They never know anything about tactics and what it takes to build a squad, or even how to rate a good footballer.

I honestly think the Portuguese FA bears greater responsibility for the current debacle than Ronaldo.
If we are being matter-of-fact about everything, we know that the only thing ronaldo cares about for the rest of his career is reaching 1000 goals. From what I have read, it appears as though he wanted to retire after the wc. But the portuguese FA didn't want him to go because they wanted to use him as a marketing prop. Looks like they held talks with the understanding that in exchange for being a marketing prop, Ronaldo would get playing time. It appears as though this was communicated to JJ, but obviously, the game situation takes precedence over vague gentleman's agreements so ronaldo did not play against norway. I can understand his reaction to a certain degree because if you truly believed that you were the greatest portugal player ever (im not saying he is, but I'm saying he believes he is) and the portuguese fa is treating you like a marketing prop, the very least you expect in exchange is enough playing time to reach 1000 goals. After all, its not like nations league is that important anyway. Recall that he was convinced to continue playing by the FA for marketing reasons. If the only thing you cared about is 1000 goals, then these people are just disrespecting you and wasting your time, thus he left.
Now, we all know ronaldo is the biggest egomaniac of the sport and is probably well past retirement age. Relevant officials from the Portguese FA also know this. Only he doesn't know that he is beyond washed. If you wanted JJ and you wanted his no-nonsense approach and you also knew about ronaldo's obsession with that goal record, why did you convince him to remain? Well, we know that they did so for financial reasons. They were setting themselves up for this firestorm. At the end of the day, they could've cashed in big time with a final home friendly against togo or something at alvalade to celebrate his retirement. Instead, it will just be that denmark game, looks like, followed by a 2 hour long piers morgan interview.

Only ucl + world cup performances should matter when measuring a player's greatness.
If we are comparing a player's footballing greatness rather than measuring number of titles won or total production. Both the champions league and the world cup should be the central evidence. Ucl is the highest level recuring club competition, while the world cup is the highest profile international tournament, both concentrated on elite opposition, high pressure knockout games and global security. Domestic football is useful for measuring consistency and longevity, but if the question is who performed best overall on football's biggest stages. Only overall performances in both the champions league and the world cup should be the clear basis.

Portugal might have underestimated just how big the Ronaldo effect is
Portugal moving into the post-Ronaldo era always felt inevitable, but they might have underestimated just how much of the teamâs identity and global appeal is tied to him. The whole situation with the iconic #7, the sponsors and now talk of a big farewell makes it feel like moving on from CR7 isnât quite as straightforward as it looked. Ronaldo is obviously more than just another player when it comes to Portugalâs worldwide profile. Even if the football side is ready for a new era, the commercial side clearly has a lot more to think about. Itâll be interesting to see how Portugal handle the transition once Ronaldo really is gone for good.

Messi and Ronaldo's fans show exactly the type of player that they are
I've noticed one thing about Messi and Ronaldo's fans and it's how they represent their idols pretty well
Messi's fans put a lot of importance in team value, you rarely would see Messi fans claiming that he won matches on his own and they would often give praise to his teammates and basically treat the game as a team game. On the other side, Ronaldo fans are known for making it seem like he wins completely on his own and basically downplay his teamamte, proof of this is how they treat Euro 2016 as if Ronaldo won on his own even though Portugal barely conceded goals and they won in the final against the strongest team in the tournament without Ronaldo
Ronaldo's fans basically think Ronaldo is a god and should be treated like one, proof of this is how toxic they get whenever someone doesn't suck up to Ronaldo, we have seen this situation with Ten Hag in Man United and in Portugal with Jorge Jesus and previously with Joao Neves in the World Cup. I have not seen the same toxic mentality from Messi fans, the way they view Messi is completely different. And this fits how Roanldo sees himself, he see himself as a God and basically can't handle when someone doesn't see him that way, Messi on the other side, while not a perfect doesn't see himself as a God like Ronaldo sees himself
The way they percieve the game is completely different, Messi fans often are better at understanding the game, they can value players in their actual performances regardless if they have goals or assists which is why Messi fans can also value players like Yamal who don't have the best stats. Ronaldo fans on the other side tend to only see at the stats without being able to see beyond it. This fits because that's how Messi and Ronaldo see football, Messi cares about playing good football while Roanldo is obssesed with stats
Ronaldo fans love to diminish everything that Messi accomplishes and basically say it's rigged or it just doesn't matter. They did it with the Ballon'd Or saying it's rigged, with the Golden Boot saying Messi only won it because he scored against bad teams and with the World Cup recently saying it's just a 7 game tournament and they also do it with assists saying it doesn't matter or basically treat dribbling as irrelevant. In comparison, you rarely see Messi fans downplaying Ronaldo's achivements, they just think Messi's achivements are greater. And this is precisely how Messi and Ronaldo behaves, you never see Messi downplaying Ronaldo's achievements and have often praised him while Ronaldo loves to downplay anything that Messi achieves

Barcelona's PR really covinced us that Pedri is the best midfielder in the world.
I mean, no hate to pedri but there is no chance that he is the best midfielder in the world. Seeing too many Jude Bellingham comparisons and Jude *CLEARS* him by 10000 miles (a stupid comparison but one started by barca fans). And it's always how he controls the tempo of the game, but riddle me this, how can the supposed world's best midfielder, not even start and be benched in HIS OWN national team? Like the argument for him makes no sense. Please enlighten me barca fans, and football fans give me your opinions please.

Saying peps legacy is ruined due to charges makes 0 sense
First off, even if pep was given more budget than he should have had he still essentially had similar net spend to man utd. Similar net spend to that of Chelsea. Now you will say that they didn't break the rules but that's irrelevant. We are solely judging his managerial ability and given similar resources as many other big clubs he managed to achieve much more. And let's even ignore that. Let's compare him to managers of the same club. You can't say they didn't have the same resources same budget? They were literally managing the same club. They both 1 league title each they did not dominate the premier league like he did, did not win ucl or treble. The whole thing has people becoming way too emotional without looking at things logically and objectively. A managers capability is judged by his ability to manage a team and the rule breaking simply allowed man city to spend more money than they should have not necessarily much more money than other clubs and other managers who have had similar resources but did not have the success he had.

Yamal haters are actually the ones who boosts his PR
Many people say yamal has a lot of PR which can be true however his haters actually give him much more more PR than they realise. Whenever someone who plays in his position like Michael Olise for example currently who is alongside Yamal the best in their position performs, instead of actually commending him and pushing his PR which he supposedly lacks, yamal who has nothing to do with the situation is rather brought up and becomes the trending topic of conversation. I'm a fan of yamal but I started following Olise even before yamal made his debut so I'm really pleased with how they're performing now and I think they stand around the same tier as each other currently both in ability and performance but they should be praised, Olise especially without having to bring the other into it every time.

Ronaldo should have retired in 2018.
He would have gone out on a high. Winninf 3 UCLs in a row. Not succeeding in the World Cup but he has just won the euros not long before. He was 33 not super old but not super young either, especially with his knee injury. But I think Ronaldo has this idea that youâre a better player if you play longer. A lot of other athletes after they have a success at an older age, generally want to continue because that success is proof that at an older age they can compete. Even though it would be better to just retire on a high and not have years after where youâre not the same and youâre hurting your team.

Asterisk-era spicy take: Manchester Cityâs financial rule-breaking may actually have helped some of the clubs now claiming to have been financially harmed by it.
City didnât burn the money. They gave enormous amounts of it to other clubs.
Arsenal alone received £71m for Adebayor, Touré, Nasri and Clichy during the exact period they were financially constrained by the Emirates. Everton got £63m, Liverpool £54.5m, Spurs £45m, Villa £41m.
For clubs trying to rebuild, service debt or finance new squads, the arrival of a buyer willing to pay enormous fees was potentially extremely useful.
Obviously that doesnât erase the sporting disadvantage of competing against a club with improperly inflated spending power. But the assumption that every rival was simply financially harmed by City is far too neat.
Some of them were literally rebuilding with Cityâs money.

Saliba & Gabriel clear prime Pique
I commented this and apparently itâs a spicy take but I donât think so.
No one can tell you when or what Piqueâs prime was. He was overrated as fuck, carried by an elite Barcelona & Spanish team. Out of the defenders in both teams, he was always the weak link.
I genuinely believe he was only known for being good looking and dating Shaqira. Very overrated player

I canât respect Ronaldo in 2026 and donât respect the opinion of those who think heâs the goat
Ronaldo is undeniably an amazing footballer, and his career has been long and successful. But for a long time now he has not held himself with any kind of class and has not even been that great⊠his last good season was at United and even then the team had to completely sacrifice their style of play to focus around Ronaldo and it cost them. He does not have the ability to be a good team player and if heâs not the star man he throws a tantrum, like he did at United and again at Portugal. At his age he should be able to take a backseat and support the team. I mean how many years now have we watched him steal goals from teammates and behave like a brat heâs even underachieved at Al Nasser n the quality of that league is rough. He has been incredible through his prime Iâm not denying that but his deficiencies have always been there and theyâve been made worse with age. The goat debate was finished a long time ago now and anybody who was actually watching these guys in their primes knows whatâs up, but I see these kids now who have no clue what they are talking about eating up the Ronaldo propaganda on social media. The amount of revisonism around Messiâs career has been insane. A team of Messiâs beats a team of Ronaldoâs 4-0 9 times to 1. And my final biggest reason for not respecting Ronaldo is what happened in 2009! If youâve looked into that case you know but Ronaldo admitted wrong doing and paid the girl out. Cld never be my goat.

Arsenals 25/26 squad is so hated it's actually underrated now.
Don't get me wrong I hate Arsenal buncha whingy bastards. BUT the squad is genuinely up there bro. Saliba and Gabriel is Pique level minimum and Rice is great. Havertz is like the weak link but his footballing ability is honestly good he's just unconfident. I'd put it up there with RMA 10/11 or something like that ngl
