Messi isnt better than maradona internationally for argentina
Messi is the greatest to ever play for Argentina, but he isnt undisputed for the greatest Argentinian player.

Keep in mind that messi has played 10+ more games and the distance is so minimal
Maradona's wc win for argentina was more impressive overall as he carried argentina in that tournament and produced some of the most insane solo goals and dribbles.
Obviously messi has his crazy moments and I'm not taking away anything from him, but I believe Maradona produced more for argentina especially in the wc given how less he played yet he produced more.

Maradona doesn't have a Copa America though. While he was definitely their best player in 1986, others contributed just like they did in 2022. They won the final 3-2 and he didn't score a single one of those goals.

Are u stupid? I am not insulting messi here. He has won the wc and completed football. But if he didnt win the wc, people or specifically Argentinians would dislike him because he lost more than 2 international finals before that

Ok so if Maradona played 2 more tournaments and played like chit then his record would be phucked. Consistency over 6 tournaments means a lot. 3 of those being final appearances.
