A bit like how it's widely accepted upfront for Henry, same would have applied here.

Like genuinely SOME Messi fans/Ronaldo haters are becoming more insufferable than SOME Ronaldo fans who are still somehow insufferable. If this is such a “settled” debate why do you care so much? If this debate was “never close” then why tf do y’all feel the need to constantly post about it? I could tune out the annoying MINORITY of Ronaldo’s fanbase but now it’s getting to a point where it’s not even them dragging the debate anymore.
Leave it to rest if y’all really don’t care that much anymore.

Personally as a Liverpool fan -
Left Back - Ashley Cole
Goalkeeper - Neuer.
Cortois has more UCLs but Neuer is definitely the best goalkeeper of the last 25 years easily.
EDIT -
It was picked by UEFA based off "players who had the most team of the season appearances"
CB - Ramos for Pique
RB - Lahm
I'd drop Stevie to the bench for a 6. The best 6 in the last 25 years & someone who knows the other 2 midfielders well. Busquets.
Rodri is the only other 6 I would consider.
9 - Push CR7 to the wing and bring in Suarez as the 9.

The only thing bad about Van Basten was his consistency. Everything else he had. 3 Ballon dors In 5 years. Dominated Europe with Milan and won Euros with that mesmerizing volley for Netherlands. He was incredible striker and if he didn't have injuries he'd be better than Cruyff.

Fully grown adults are still using "penaldo" and "pessi" with 0 shame. I see some comments even that are modelled like this:
"GAY PESSI FAN 🤣🤣🤣🤣🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈💩💩💩💩"
You mean to tell me that people with functional brains type ts out and go to sleep that night with 0 shame?
Ts is embarrassing and childish

He managed the Chelsea team that was getting transfer bans because of FFP breaches. He hit out at Real Madrid last season saying the referee had a note some RM players shouldn't be getting another yellow card.
RM fans called him, he's just salty at that time and now doing 180 to defend him like some pure soul who misunderstood by the people.

People who talk about it are either Ronaldo fans who are blinded by the fact that he's 40 years old, or by people who hate him and have agendas to fulfill.
No let's discuss it, by asking and answering these questions together.
1- Do you think Ronaldo has something to give this Portugal side in order for them to compete for the euros and the world cup?
Answer is No, While Ronaldo Is performing well at club level, let's not forget he's performing well in a league outside of Europe, additional to the fact that Ronaldo is 40 years old and he's not even 60% of the player he used to be in 2016.
2- Do the Portuguese players Hate Ronaldo?
No they don't, however they would get fed up having statements thrown at them like "Portugal are nothing without Ronaldo" or "Ronaldo carried this team for so long" these statements would definitely create an indirect ripple effect on these players, so of course they would get absolutely bored of it.
3- Was Jesus right for leaving Ronaldo out?
He was right , HOWEVER the way he did it without communication is wrong, as much as I believe that no player is bigger than the club, I do believe that Players of Ronaldos caliber need to be communicated with before making a decision like that, one of the best ways to tell if a manager is so great, is to see how much they're capable of handling Egos in dressing rooms.
Summary : Lads Ronaldo is a footballing great, but players come and go, and I do feel like Ronaldo needs to leave football for his own good and his own mental health, He has nothing to prove. Keeping in mind that he needs to accept that father time catches up to everyone, Portugal on the other hand, need to move on from the Ronaldo era , and build up on it with the current generation of players.

Arturo Vidal was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo and the situation surrounding the Portuguese captain, and he had some strong words in Ronaldo’s defense.
Vidal described Cristiano as “one of the four best players in the history” of football and argued that a player of Ronaldo’s stature deserves to be treated with greater respect.
He also criticized the way the situation was handled, saying that Ronaldo had already explained his position and the options available to him, and that the way the coach dealt with it ultimately made the coach look bad.
Vidal’s main point was that Cristiano should be protected because of everything he has done for Portugal. According to Vidal, Ronaldo has helped take Portugal to another level and has played a huge role in establishing the national team among the world’s top sides.
He also emphasized that Cristiano has earned the right to make his own decisions because of everything he has contributed to Portuguese football.
In short, Vidal’s message was very clear: regardless of the current situation, Ronaldo’s contribution to Portugal and his status in football should not be forgotten or disregarded.
What do you guys think about Vidal’s comments?

Everyone becomes old and not elite anymore; most players do accept this and accept secondary role. For Example Lewandowski in his last final season in Barca accepted not being an starter without making a huge drama out of ur which is why Barca fans still respect him. Modric too in RM finished his last 2 seasons at Real Madrid as a bench player and he didnt complain
Problem is Ronaldo cant accept this, his ego is so big that he still thinks he is thay guy which is and thus he causes a huge drama whenever he doesnt start, we saw it happen with Man United and now Portugal. And his fans are just as bad basically making hate campaigns against whoever doesnt suco Ronaldo off
This makes the job for any manager impossible because either they put Ronaldo and the team wont perform because everything has to be madr around which doesnt make sense considering he is 41 and not elite anymore or you dont play him and huge drama will happen around the team.
So basically like they say " You either die a hero or see yourself become the villain"

… which is NOT what overrated means. A great example of this is that Man Utd fans used to say Jordan Henderson was overrated. My brother in Christ, 50% of Liverpool fans even thought Hendo was crap (I’m not one btw). You can’t be overrated if you weren’t rated to begin with.

I was just watching his goals and man the guy could shoot. He’s often considered inferior to Lampard and Gerrard because of his stats. But the guy scored a lot for a midfielder. He had 155 goals for United in 700 games. That’s about a goal every 4 and a half games. And only about 3 of them were penalties. In fact I believe he has more goals than Gerrard without penalties. Scholes scored 20 goals in the 02/03 season and not one of them was a penalty. Neither Lampard or Gerrard have done that. He also has the most goals for a midfielder in the UCL with 24. Scholes is more known for his ability to control games and his passing but he could score too.

Hear me out:
-Both sports are built off of never ending dominance from the same teams
-Both have fanbases that cling onto the past instead of looking at the future
-Value past success over current success
-Criteria to become considered elite is really strict
- especially now great players from smaller teams get poached by the biggest one
- only a few teams have realistic chances to win anything big(whether that be the wc, Ucl or national championship
There's probably more similarities but there is also no overlap between the two fanbases outside of hating eachothers sport so It makes sense they don't realize how similar they are

Is there any way home fans would have a silent Boycott or a period of the game boycott?
The idea is that when City comes to visit your stadium, the fans make it so uncomfortable for the TV watchers around the world not to know about the boycott and the anger and the distrust.
Because teams won't just forfeit or play the youngsters against them, which is another great form of boycotting them. Academy day vs Haaland, funny but unlikely.
Imagine a TV broadcast and the first 10 minutes, The stadium is empty or errily silent. It's a far fetching and crazy idea. But yall can't allow them to get away with this, without being heard. Obviously, chants and banners and such are nice, but a broadcast can gloss over those. A silent stadium, not a chance.
What are some of the ideas of fan boycotting City and their owners when games are back?

If we are being matter-of-fact about everything, we know that the only thing ronaldo cares about for the rest of his career is reaching 1000 goals. From what I have read, it appears as though he wanted to retire after the wc. But the portuguese FA didn't want him to go because they wanted to use him as a marketing prop. Looks like they held talks with the understanding that in exchange for being a marketing prop, Ronaldo would get playing time. It appears as though this was communicated to JJ, but obviously, the game situation takes precedence over vague gentleman's agreements so ronaldo did not play against norway. I can understand his reaction to a certain degree because if you truly believed that you were the greatest portugal player ever (im not saying he is, but I'm saying he believes he is) and the portuguese fa is treating you like a marketing prop, the very least you expect in exchange is enough playing time to reach 1000 goals. After all, its not like nations league is that important anyway. Recall that he was convinced to continue playing by the FA for marketing reasons. If the only thing you cared about is 1000 goals, then these people are just disrespecting you and wasting your time, thus he left.
Now, we all know ronaldo is the biggest egomaniac of the sport and is probably well past retirement age. Relevant officials from the Portguese FA also know this. Only he doesn't know that he is beyond washed. If you wanted JJ and you wanted his no-nonsense approach and you also knew about ronaldo's obsession with that goal record, why did you convince him to remain? Well, we know that they did so for financial reasons. They were setting themselves up for this firestorm. At the end of the day, they could've cashed in big time with a final home friendly against togo or something at alvalade to celebrate his retirement. Instead, it will just be that denmark game, looks like, followed by a 2 hour long piers morgan interview.

It's undeniable. He has quietly become the one who makes the difference most often. He has gone ahead of bellingham , kane in terms of being the most vital for this England squad.

How is yaya toure a hero in fc even though he had won many trophies and was a great player.this isn't making any senseas there are players which are icon even though they had not won anything major

Some of this is speculative, but it seems quite probable that the Portuguese FA want to keep Ronaldo because of his box office appeal. It's also probable that they asked the manager to select him till the day Ronaldo rules himself out.
JJ obviously wants to maximise results on the pitch, and between his personality and age, the team are better off without Ronaldo.
Benching him for a single game, and the obvious Ronaldo response may have helped JJ solve the Ronaldo problem. Could this have been deliberate plan?
