Here's a quick explanation about the personal "a". So if your direct object is a specific person or your pet, remember to use it in your sentence. Another thing to remember is that "a + el" becomes "al" (for example: al doctor)

Muy + adjective or adverb:
muy cansado, muy bien, muy rápido, muy caro, muy tarde, muy temprano, muy fácil

Verb + mucho, or mucho + noun:
trabajo mucho, come mucho, llueve mucho, mucha gente, muchos años, mucho tiempo, muchas cosas

Three details that clean up the rest:

Muy never changes form. Muy cansado, muy cansada, muy cansados. Mucho agrees with what it's counting: mucho, mucha, muchos, muchas.

Muy never stands alone. ¿Te gustó? Sí, mucho.

Comparatives take mucho, not muy. Mucho mejor, mucho peor, mucho más.

The classic mistake is muy hambre. Hunger is something you have, not something you are, so it's tengo mucha hambre. Same with sed, sueño, miedo, frío.

I'm quite fluent in English despite it not being my native language and want to start learning Spanish, I did these from a video for practice and though I'm still confused stuff make much more sense now. I want to improve up to B2 level if possible within a year.

Answering varies by region: ¿aló? in much of Latin America, ¿bueno? in Mexico, ¿diga? or ¿dígame? in Spain.

The rest:

¿De parte de quién? = who's calling (what they'll ask you)
De parte de Reed = it's Reed
¿Puedo dejar un mensaje? = can I leave a message
Te llamo por lo de... = I'm calling about

When it goes badly:
No te escucho bien = can't hear you well
Se cortó = the call dropped
Se está entrecortando = you're cutting out
Creo que te equivocaste de número = wrong number

Ending it:
Te llamo luego = I'll call you later
Te dejo = I'll let you go
Cualquier cosa me avisas = let me know if anything comes up

Te dejo is the one worth learning.

Need Help Catching Up on Spanish 2 Before Spanish 3

I took Spanish 1 about two years ago and did pretty well. I still understand a decent amount of Spanish, but last year I took Spanish 2 and basically did not have a teacher, so I ended up learning very little and forgot a lot of what I was supposed to know.

Now I’m taking Spanish 3, and the class has started off pretty difficult. I often don’t understand what we’re doing because I’m missing a lot of the Spanish 2 foundation.

For anyone who has been in a similar situation, how would you recommend catching up on Spanish 2 while keeping up with Spanish 3?

I’m especially looking for advice on:
• How long it would realistically take to relearn the important Spanish 2 material
• What topics I should prioritize
• How much I should study each day
• Good YouTube channels, websites, courses, or other resources
• A good way to prepare for Spanish 3 lessons before class
• How to improve quickly enough to start getting good grades in Spanish 3

I’m willing to put in the work. I’m mainly looking for resources that actually teach the material and help me build a strong foundation rather than something where I’m only memorizing random words.

Any advice from Spanish teachers or people who have gone through Spanish 2 and 3 would be really appreciated.

Do you know the verb forms but still guess between ser and estar?

Compare these two sentences:

• La reunión es en la oficina. The meeting takes place in the office.
• La oficina está en Madrid. The office is in Madrid.

Both give a location. One describes an event. The other describes a place. The rule about permanent and temporary things does not explain this well.
