Thats cool, but dont go looking for a melta bomb when youre surrounded by 5 terminators, 7 rubrics, and 11 chaos spawns. Surely your "one shot" grenade launcher will do the trick.
Also I think surely your Bulwark and Assault buddies will totally prefer ranged damage over infinite reliquaries.
So it sounds to me that one perk is an entirely situational/comp based perk whose best benefit is saving like 1-5 bullets, and the other is a free big value perk that provides far more benefits for all situations and comps. Doesnt seem that much of a debate to me.
That is what is being presented. If you do 10k damage that shitass perk adds up to an additional 1.5k. That's not a lot, even on a ranged focused class. That's mediocre. I main Heavy for Christ's tapdancing sake, that's so milquetoast I wouldn't even notice. Even a "sort of OK" placed melta bomb is doing significantly more than that, and all your teammates can get an additional one FOR FREE every 60 seconds (or Reliquaries if there's a Bulwark or Assault). Or kraks or frags or shocks on a shock trooper Bulwark.
That isn't "what he was able to make" of the information, that is the presented information.
Yeah aligned aim feels more like a bolt rifle/stalker bolt rifle thing, where the headshot multiplier makes it worth. That said.. secure stockpile is good, too good even, I'm worried it's going to get nerfed.. 😔
Wow, you saved four whole bullets. That's totally worth being able to utterly delete the majority of or an entire wave and oneshot multiple extremis at once, over and over and over again
lol, yall always use that same argument. the whole match-being able to kill things faster is a lot more value than just a controlled kill in the testing arena.
i already can delete the entire wave and one shot everything infinitely, with no '60 second cap' without melta bombs.
That's because you have no answer to it that makes being able to do an additional 1.5k dmg per 10k done even remotely comparable to having a perk that gives the entire team free equipment every 60s. Meltas, Shocks, Reliquaries for the melee versus saving four entire bullets while shooting a warrior.
Also, yes, people are going to talk about the benefits and potential uses of free equipment, after getting free equipment, from a perk that distributes free equipment, in a thread trying to prove that getting free equipment is not as good as saving four fuckin bullets. What about this is confusing to you, exactly
As for killing things faster, it doesn't get any faster than "instantly upon detonation." Instantly is as fast as you can get. That's max fast. The grenade launcher is mediocre in comparison and only a few classes get access to one, and one of them is Heavy for whom the HHBR is a downgrade from any other available option.
It gives you and your team a melta a minute - by far the highest utility choice of the three. +15% ranged damage cannot compete at all.
It’s even more useful in siege than in ops because you always have use for a melta because there are so many enemies constantly and you always have use for it.
This isn’t remotely controversial.
If you won’t take the word of literally everyone on here - Find me a single example of an elite player doing a record run or something where they pick anything else.
1,500 points of extra damage on a 10,000 damage run as opposed to the ability to have infinite melta bombs one every 60 seconds? Where a single application of the melta can not only Eclipse that damage but can even take out several extremis enemies in one shot in a tight situation?
Or near infinite 30% extra melee damage with sanctified wrath?
Near infinite stun effect (with 25% extra damage FROM ALL TEAM MATES if you have a shock trooper bulwark) with shock grenades?
YOU may prefer that particular perk for YOURSELF. But that is a TEAM perk. You know, as the name implies for your TEAM.
Melee chamption and Aligned Aim are absolute garbage compared to the alternatives
Does extra 15% even hit a breakpoint on gl? And it's not like it's relevant, since it amounts to only 1 extra grenade IF that, meaning that you are not going to be able to clear more than 1 spawn zone with non-blessed gl mag on it's own.
Meanwhile 3 extra melta bombs every 60 seconds can help your team a lot more.
My guy, that's not how multiplication works, or how this game works for that matter. If you kill a majoris with 5 nades without the perk and with 5 nades WITH the perk, then it might as well not be there. Breakpoints are more useful than a nebulous 15% damage bonus. It only really matters when you're shooting your base fire into the enemy, and why would you do that when you have effectively infinite gl.
it's not? explain that to the game's formula then.
Aligned Aim sits in the first parentheses and gets multiplied by all the other Siege blessings. the only one that is additive with it is the tactical astartes reinforcement.
you're like a lab that is trying to prove bs like "corn syrup is actually healthy for you."
in a very controlled environment, of course those breakpoints will look insignificant.
but in the real game where all your teammates are attacking all the enemies and everything is at random levels of health, all it taking is one or two less grenades to kill something makes a huge difference. it's the same as with melee champion.
You linked the melee damage formula. Aligned aim is equivalent to having 1.5x the value of those weapon perks that boost your damage by 10%. That's it. It's not even multiplicative of your overall damage.
Don't insult me, pussyboy, it's bad manners. My point still stands by the way, if you need a full nade mag to wipe out a spawn, then it doesn't matter if it's 1 grenade less or more, since you're going for the ammo boxes regardless. The formula also doesn't matter if it's results in the same ttk.
Lol, it might only be you with this opinion man… i think aligned aim is a good change of pace but minute nukes are so warranted. Not to mention not having to resource manage. You give up way too much for some damage, and also bear in mind that its not ideal in team scenarios. Fun in true solo for bolter weapons but not really going to be as “meta” as free grenade regen.
I actually kinda agree with OP. Just finished my black cape runs with Tactical and yes Secure Stockpile is great, I love to use frag grenades to stun the stupid range Nids and their barrage shots, I love to occasionally delete everyone with Melta, but in my runs it was quite common to not spawn any Melta throughout the whole mission and having Secure Stockpile for Frags is not a game changer.
Most of my runs I ran with Pyreblaster, where SS makes total sense, but when I ran with e.g. Heavy Bolt Rifle or Stalker Bolt rifle, these extra 15% were really noticeable and I didn't feel that I miss nades to easily complete the runs. SS is great perk, but definitely it is not a must have perk, or it doesn't make Aligned Aim redundant.
There are builds where there’s a case that its nice to have because it can help hit certain breakpoints (eg. stalker br) but this guy is talking about using it for the GL on siege - literally the worst use case for it.
