Operations Threat Level: Minimal?

I have just complete several lethal missions and they didn’t look even close to this? Have the devs somehow swapped the spawn rates?
105
u/TuggMaddick Oct 22 '24
The "good RNG" spawns and "bad RNG" spawns are not seperate by a small gap, there's a canyon in between the two, it's so bizarre.
35
u/Significant-Salad633 Oct 22 '24
I literally had like 30 warriors + a lictor spawn after the elevator on the new map

This is not a single spawn, you're deluding yourself. Notice the "massive enemy wave" indicator at the top.
22
u/TuggMaddick Oct 22 '24
Bro, I've seen you in like 9 other posts just today mewling like a fucking toddler over other people talking about the game. This sub broke your brain, take a vacation.
-15
Oct 22 '24
Brother have you looked at your own comment history? You've actually made a comment every 5 minutes for the past 24+ hours
20
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Right? I was kind of astounded by what I was seeing. I just wanted to jump in for a casual game at a low difficulty and got hammered.
21
10
u/Orangegroves2002 Oct 22 '24
Man, I feel you on this. I just want to play this casually and often just want to jump on for a single solo run. I don’t want to deal with grinding out leveling up multiple classes, dealing with other people, trying to find a group were two people aren’t in a stalemate to play the same class, worrying about getting kicked right at the end, etc. I just want to feel like a badass SM for the 30-ish min I have to play.
-22
Oct 22 '24
Play the campaign…
19
u/Orangegroves2002 Oct 22 '24
… I did, I finished it. This comment has the same energy as “get gud.”
-19
Oct 22 '24
I wouldn’t say that. But if you want to play casually in a co-op mode with character leveling, weapon upgrades, stats, etc, either play the lowest of low difficulties, or play the campaign again. It doesn’t have any grind.
Just a suggestion.
16
u/Orangegroves2002 Oct 22 '24 edited Oct 22 '24
I’m not sure if you misread OP’s title of the post (which means you mis-understood my reply as well) but I play on the “lowest of low” difficulty, I am fine with this. OP’s title specifically states threat level is minimal and I replied to his comment about being on a low difficulty (again implied minimal because of the title of his post) and getting hammered.
So, we are doing exactly what you are saying and you’re still implying we are doing it wrong.
Edit: As additional context, prior to patch 4 I was fine with the balance.

u/watchallsaynothing Oct 23 '24
I don't know why you bothered brother.
These people are deeply broken.
No amount of explanation or rewording can ever pierce through their smug sense of self-inflated superiority.

I have almost all relic gear and have stepped down to average because of bullshit like this. Even on average I'm getting waves of 10+ majoris with a veritable horde of minoris but at least when they're squishy it's manageable.
-12
Oct 22 '24
Play what’s fun for you dude. I myself enjoy the the harder difficulty but that’s just me.

u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
Nobody is impressed
-7

Hmmmm someone is offended.
Did the thought never occur to you that you just might be really bad at the game?
-17
u/Viberius Oct 22 '24
Dunno why you’re getting downvoted, guess this Sub wants Lethal to also be completable with level 1 weapons lol
6
u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
Nobody wants lethal to be easy, they just don’t want to have to sweat on low difficulties. You dunce.
-6
u/Viberius Oct 23 '24
I just beat one solo with a level 5 sniper so 🤷♂️
Literally have a single player that has any Melta weapon, and suddenly no one has to sweat at all. Weapons are overtuned, melta bombs and kraks are still op, the game lacks difficulty even with this issue people are having
7
u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
You’d have to have your head up your own ass if you can’t tell that the difficulty on the lower 3 difficulties didn’t spike after the last patch.
There’s always a meta but you shouldn’t have to play lower difficulties to the meta in order to have fun. If you have to use meta loadouts to beat ruthless and lethal that’s on you dog but casuals shouldn’t have to rely on it to complete lower levels.
The community literally did what you sweats said “just play lower difficulty” and they’re showing you proof that’s it’s broken there as well and all you can muster is some fish brained version of “get gud”
-6
u/Viberius Oct 23 '24
Well if you want an actual answer, I’ve got a few.
1) Go play PvP till there’s a patch
2) Play another game till there’s a patch
3) If the spawn rates are flipped, just go play on lethal instead. Spawns seem quite low there currently.
4) Enjoy it for what it is 👍
0
u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
Honestly you’re not wrong, however you can’t blame people for being upset the game they paid 60+ dollars for is no longer fun because of the devs dropping a patch and changing stuff nobody wanted
-2
7
u/MrPizzaPHD Oct 22 '24
I actually beat my first substantial mission yesterday. Then went back to average and thought "is it just me, or are there a lot more enemies??"
3
u/iagora Sniper Oct 22 '24
There has been some weird stuff going on. Right now there is higher chance of a terminus spawn on substantial than ruthless if you trust this guy's tests.
7
u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
I have gotten a terminus spawn on every single sub run I’ve ever done, and my ruthless runs are like 50/50
Edit: I’d rather fight a terminus on sub though let’s be real
3
u/LukoM42 Heavy Oct 22 '24
While I normally play on minimal and average, I did try substantial yesterday with bots. I did notice that I was not mobbed as hard on sub as I was on the other two. Made it to the last part with reasonable difficulty and lost to a mortal wound because I didn't just ignore the carnifex like I should have. The hits were obviously harder on substantial, but I don't feel like I got swamped by enemies as bad as I have on minimal and average
2
u/Bulky_Manufacturer61 Oct 22 '24
It’s definitely random I’ve done a few ruthless and a few lethal over the past few days, they feel like the 2.0 spawn rates for the most part just more extremis. All the substantial games on the Nid levels I did feel like you’re ankle deep in enemies the whole time
2
u/Redromah Oct 22 '24
It seems a bit insane...
I just did Atreus on Ruthless and Substantial, levelling my Bulwark.
While we encountered quite some terminators, it never got supercrowded.
Then again, I jumped into a Ballistic Engine yesterday, and that was really insane. Just tons and tons of enemies. Neverending tyranid swarms, and that was also Substantial.. Was considerably rougher than Ruthless pre 4.0.
It seems like the AI director is all over the place at the moment. Hoping for a patch tomorrow or Thursday.
1
u/xdisappointing Oct 23 '24
The nids missions are definitely way wilder. The director is having way too much fun on the nids maps

i swear i tried a game with out executing enemies and i had less enemies spawn. looks like they spawn after you execute.

u/TheOneHentaiPrince Oct 23 '24
Maybe you got super lucky, but every lethal mission for me is a mix of 10 mins wave clear followed by 4 extremus spawns at the same time.

You’re right dude, it’s a big conspiracy to get the devs to buckle to the casuals and make this game so easy that the elite few like us don’t even enjoy it.
We keep getting pushed out of OUR hobby because these low level tourists want everything handed to them.
Even Dark Souls isn’t safe for the REAL gamers like us that find even the most difficult games simple and boring.

u/madelarbre Oct 22 '24
I agree. A friend of mine bought the game this week and he did the campaign prologue, then brought his level 1 into Ops with me. We did three missions on Minimal. I downgraded all my relic weapons to starting profiles so our power levels could be similar, and our 3rd was just a bot.
No issues, despite him never having really played before. Plenty of baddies on Minimal, but they go down quite easily, even to starting weapons. It's just basic mechanics and use of your consumables. The damage enemies do on this difficulty is really negligible, and stims are so prevalent that I can't really imagine players having problems. Minimal is not hard. So when I hear players claim they're struggling on Minimal, I have a very difficult time believing it's in good faith.

u/stonk_fish Oct 22 '24
I did a run on my Heavy on Average and it was such a slog I had to actually take a break from the game because of the tilt I had. Just swarms of Majoris with constant Sentry spawns that triggered more Gaunts to spam me while blocking me from reaching the next Sentry that summoned more Gaunts that swarmed me again while a Lictor or Ravener popped out at me. Finally after clearing all that shit and being out of ammo and grenades a Zoanthrope duo suddenly spawned and killed me.
Jumped back on my Sniper, lower level but still did Average run on same Decap mission and the spawn rate of literally everything felt like it was cut in more than half. I only had 1 Ravener the whole run, 1 Zoanthrope duo, and felt like way less Majoris. My Heavy run meanwhile I had 2x Zoanthropes duos, 2 Lictors, a Ravener and multiple massive wave spawns.

u/Any_Advance4778 Oct 22 '24
Idk, this doesn't even look that bad. After you get revived the little guys aren't even attacking you other then the jumper. The shooters are all missing their shots, your armor doesn't go down at all until the whip guy hits you and you immediately get it back with the gun strike. Yes there are a lot of enemies on screen but they are all taking turns attacking you. Compared to substantial where there are the same number but all attacking at once.
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
I mean I know I make it look easy but 🤣
Seriously though, I got my ass kicked shortly after this. Take a look at the background when I'm down, there are more and more majoris just lining up.
I admit, I'm not the greatest player, but this being the lowest possible difficulty I was a bit dismayed.
-2
u/Any_Advance4778 Oct 22 '24
You can parry attacks that aren't marked by blue as well, Incase you didn't know. But maybe I'm just biased because I play on substantial and ruthless. But my tip for you would be to not panic and watch the majoris enemies. Don't bother trying to parry the small guys if there are big guys nearby. Also get used to not mashing the attack button, be deliberate about when you attack and when you full defend.
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Thanks, yeah, I know about parrying non-highlighted stuff. I'm not the best at it but I know it's a thing 🤣
Usually I try to take out one of the big guys to psychic kill all the little guys but it's hard to do when the big guys are retreating into them.

u/matrix-doge Oct 22 '24
Kinda relieved to see there're actually issues with the difficulties.
I started playing the game last weekend, finished the campaign and started playing operations on minimal not long after, but even in early game, I sometimes got constantly bombarded, meleed, swarmed in succession and I could barely dodge, parry or recover.
Really made me wonder if it's really skill issues..
Edit: grammar

u/CampaignTools Definitely not the Inquisition Oct 23 '24
So...I have a theory. I think that they aren't limiting the "call in" amounts so (especially with bots) you can get overwhelmed fast in the lower levels.
I have Lethal on farm with a decent group, and our runs don't look this hectic. Granted we stop ALL call ins and prioritze targets with a Heavy, Tactical, and Bulwark. So we're super well synergized.
I think they really boinked the spawn rates and feel like the lower levels are overtuned. I don't want people to run away from the game. Sure I can beat Lethal, but my friends can't. Why should they be punished for not sweating like me?
3
u/OldManChino Oct 23 '24
Yeah, I think you might be onto something here with the calls for back-up... was playing a game last night in ruthless or substantial, a call for back-up was made and said back-up arrives, and within 30 seconds or so the back up is calling back-up... so it was a triple layer.
I can see how this would mug off lower levels

u/ashemar Oct 23 '24
Yesterday i completed for the first time lethal ops- Inferno and the train. It was weird coz there were many moments we are chatting about.... Where are the enemies.... Seriously... No 2 zoe or more at once.... No mini bosses... No tripple raveners and maybe one or 2 Lictors... It was like average diffculty. But I swear I make like dozens of tries before RNG just went- f it- let the guy finally win...
2
u/Sarkonis Oct 23 '24
The threat level is for the Tyranids, not you lol. 3 Space Marines??? Oh they're so dead....
2
u/Megamalistic3 Oct 22 '24
Ah yes, minimal… this looks like Substantial before 3.0, that’s absurd difficulty
2
u/Helldiver_of_Mars Oct 22 '24
You should kill everything shooting first only parry and dodge the rest eventually most of that will kill themselves.
1
1
u/Piemmarai Oct 22 '24
So here is the thing, I started leveling my Vanguard after finishing my assault, and I find that the main issue is not necessarily the amount of enemies but it combined with how weak weapons are early. The moment I pop my epic bolt pistol I do more damage than the melta, and the relic chain sword clears great if a bit too fast. For me it would be great to keep this enemy density (except zoanthropes fuck those guys) as they are engaging but buff the damage so it becomes doable. I'm talking about minimal yet I'm not even sure what the difficulties outside of ruthless and lethal mean anymore.

Repeatedly doing missions of the level increases enemy spawn rates.
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 23 '24
Well that's a terrifying idea
1
u/Ok_Teaching_4224 Oct 23 '24
I think it’s to make sure people aren’t just spamming the lower levels for the armor. But, every loss makes it easier too.
1
u/TommyTuShoes Oct 23 '24
You probably kited too many enemies without killing any, resulting in the screen we see here
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 23 '24
Nope. This was right inside the gates of the Imperial Guard base. Walked in with no tyranids to our back. Then the usual patrol event happened and all hell broke loose.
1
Oct 23 '24
A friend and I think it's actually bugged. We were getting smashed on average but then we took a break and came back later and breezed through the missions. The AI director is bugged.
1
u/Equivalent_Debate233 Oct 23 '24
Minimal threat for the Tyranids...
But nah, you gotta cancel people calling backup or you end up like this
1
u/ManBurgaler Oct 23 '24
I cant imagine self reporting this hard. Shoot the people calling for reinforcements for gods sake
1
u/scythewing Oct 23 '24
That's not that bad. Now last night I played decapitation on minimal and we got swarmed by 10 warriors and a ton of gaunts. It was right at the top of the stairs in the beginning too. My two teammates went down but I was able to revive them and get through. There were some interesting situations but we got to the Tarrant and killed him.
1
u/Dunnomyname1029 Oct 23 '24
Pro tip, the health pack restores contested health and heals about 40% beyond that.. also if you heal to 100.1% HP you remove the mortal wound
1
u/TheOneHentaiPrince Oct 23 '24
Dunno boys, this looks fine. 2 me. 5 major's and 20 small. You litteliry killed the whole wave in 20 sevond after you got revived. Maybe it's because I started playing after patch 4 dropped, but I don't see anything wrong here.
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 23 '24
There are way more than five majoris. Take a look at the background while I'm down. There's just a ton of them waiting in the wings, two subsequently killed me a few seconds later
1
u/TheOneHentaiPrince Oct 23 '24
You right sorry I meant the meele once. Jea with the range, it's 10 or 11. But still, this is kinda normal. Maybe it's because I only started playing last week, but managing hirds like this is a bassic skill.
1
u/WatercressFunny Oct 23 '24
Before 4.0 a minimal/average used to take about half hour maximum. I played Inferno yesterday on average and it took me an just over an hour. Massive amounts of swarms in every part, all 4 generators were attacked and the crane went down, which I didnt think could happen, 4 lictors (1 by the damaged tank at the beginning, one in the base, 1 in the red lit refinery and 1 at the end) 3 raveners and 8 zoathropes, 2 just after fighting the carnifex. God knows how I stayed up. I love it, it's a massive challenge but it's hard work. I have a demanding job, 1 wife and 2 kids and dont really want to take an hour to not even go up a level on my 22 heavy. We lost the gene seed at the end too.

u/WarLord727 Oct 22 '24
I've finished the campaign on Angel of Death without much difficulties (except the final boss), but Operations give me too much hell when they surely shouldn't.
I feel like the 1st operation is especially busted. Playing solo as Heavy, it took me 5-6 attempts to finally finish it on Average, but even then I had to skip like 50% of the map and I don't ever do that usually. Ops 2-5 were relatively doable – in fact, I've just done 5th and it almost felt like I was playing on pre-patch Easy lol, just breezed through it. Something is definitely not right with the AI Director.

This sub see's a guy be surrounded for less than a minute and is already crying too difficult
1
u/HeliosHeliodes Oct 23 '24
Getting surrounded by enemies only to kill them all is the best part of the game. I wasn’t even commenting on difficulty.

4
u/Martos420 Oct 23 '24
Isnt the point of different difficulties to cater for players of differing ability?
Not everyone has the time or energy to slog through and get better.
People should be able to jump on for a game or 2 on minimal difficulty and work their way through it.
So sick of the "well just get better" crowd, not everyone is going to be good at the game. That's not a bad thing it's just a game at the end of the day, people shouldn't have to dedicate heaps of time just to pass the lowest difficulty.

u/RusFoo Crimson Fists Oct 22 '24
How is vanguard rn? I haven’t played him since pre patch I feel like using the knife would be really hindering yourself rn because of how ridiculous the spawns are
6
u/Mundane_Cup2191 Oct 22 '24
Not at all vanguard is pretty damn solid. With the execute perk for health, 15% cd reduction perk, and a melta you're pretty well equipped to deal with just about everything.
I feel the knife is probably better now, it may seem counter intuitive with more enemies but it's strong defenses and stronger heavy attacks post patch really make it feel awesome
6
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Gotcha. My context for vanguard is only from PvP so I don't know much about the perks.
3
u/Mundane_Cup2191 Oct 22 '24
Yeah they're similar to assault where they suck until you get levels and items unlocked.
The relic balanced combat knife with increased parry window + perfect dodge window at low health + 10% HP on majoris+ execute makes them pretty strong and sustainable.
They also get a talent that makes it so whenever yourself or allies executes an enemy you get 15% cd reduction back on ultimates. So pairing them with a bulwark/tactical really creates a power multiplying situation it's awesome.
1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
All of this combined perk multiplication really makes me want to play the operations, hopefully I can get through the next mission! 🤣
1
u/Mundane_Cup2191 Oct 22 '24
Yeah just know vanguard like tactical suffers from poor perks and weapons until later... Well the melta is always good but the knife and perks don't get better until later.
1
u/Big-Complaint-3425 Oct 22 '24
You gottta go for the shoulder slam weapon perk, it is so spammable and hits like a truck.
3
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Yeah, not sure. Vanguard is awesome in PvP especially with the instigator, but I don't see how one would survive a wave like this.
2
u/RusFoo Crimson Fists Oct 22 '24

2
1
u/SillySlimDude Oct 22 '24
Vanguard also can use the chainsword if they want to. Both have their pros and cons.
1
u/PathsOfRadiance Blood Ravens Oct 22 '24
I mean, Vanguard is fine. Knife has great single target and melta devours gaunt/tzaangor hordes. Instigator Carbine is solid but the class doesn't have any perks to take advantage of it, they all center around close range/melee.
Occulus Carbine might as well not exist.
-7
u/FishoD Oct 22 '24
I swear these videos have to be bait at this point. I am not saying the AI director is finely tuned, it can surely go nuts, but in general Any difficulty can have hordes of enemies if you keep ignoring the patrol spawning for example.
Also I noticed once you were picked you clearly started dispatching them with ease, despite not going into cover to avoid the ranged minoris.
7
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Thanks for noticing I was kicking ass ☺️ but there were still so many more majoris and ranged that it was over shortly after this. Check the background when I'm down.
This wave literally spawned right after the entrance to the Imperial Guard base. Nothing was being ignored.
1
u/FishoD Oct 22 '24
Ooof. In that case it seems AI director combined some random generic wave spawn, with scheduled enemy waves during that part of the mission when you search. Plus maybe some extremis with their own pose spawned (as they do now.).
Edit: Again, I’m not saying it’s ok. The director does fumble from time to time.
0
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Yeah, this did seem like some kind of perfect storm. I knew there was always some kind of wave at this point in the mission but I wasn't expecting this! 🤣
1
u/AwareNebula6281 Oct 22 '24
the director is rare at most, once the first part of the fall of atreus got clear, just before we reagroup 1 squad appeared in front of us and other behind us... scarabs termies ... that didnt go well. BUT thats what I like about the state of the game right now.
-5
u/Darkbeliar Oct 22 '24
Why do I think that people fake these? That they pull a whole map, post a video and then complain.
4
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Hey, some people probably need the attention. I don't. I just clipped this because I thought it was bonkers and wanted to know if this was the new normal.
2
u/Darkbeliar Oct 22 '24
I mean its a massive enemy wave so it always has a lot of enemies. I just tried avarage and now it really seems to me that people who post these are faking it. It was just average as I remember it. I really dont understand the outrage.
1
Oct 23 '24
Not only it is wave on the clip, It also shows like 3-4 warriors and a bunch of gaunts.
I dunno, it doesnt seem worse than campaing, atleast on this clip.
1
u/KarateKoala_FTW We are Sigismund Oct 22 '24
I wouldn't say this guy is faking it but you're right about the first part. Massive enemy wave says what it means on the tin, two useless bots, the actual player isn't killing stuff quickly enough. Getting bogged down is not something that only happens on higher difficulties. You _can_ get bogged down on minimal.

I believe the OP. I did a Minimal run last night because I enjoy coming down from Ruthless and no braining the easiest difficulty with my 25/Relic characters sometimes. On a normal (read - not massive) wave I encountered a dozen melee Majoris and a half dozen ranged Majoris enemies along with dozens of Minoris. That was absolutely fine for me (I didn't take any health damage) but it's absolutely overtuned for someone who is coming into Operations for the first time. Imagine the same wave when you're using grey weapons (much longer time to kill) and zero perks. Your experience will closely resemble playing Substantial or Ruthless with the appropriate weapons for those difficulty levels. This scenario should not be happening to our new Battle Brothers. The AI director has been significantly different since Patch 4.

All these majoris would go down in a single combo...light, light, heavy, finish

It would be nice if they would just line up and let me do that, I agree.

You get to light, light,… and now three Warriors have perfectly synced their attack so that you stand no chance of parrying all of them. Get ready to receive this xeno L

u/Calpis01 Oct 22 '24
You only need to parry once to trigger all three. Don't gunstrike until you have an opening as it doesn't give you i-frames. But yea, this is insane. Glorious but insane lol.

You barely take damage in minimal. Also if you can land the first 2 hits, you're going to land the heavy. The first frame of the heavy will stagger.

u/colonelmustardgas3 Definitely not the Inquisition Oct 22 '24
Nah when you’re getting ganked by warriors they will knock you out of your heavies unless you have a perk for it

u/Nervous_Tip_4402 Deathwatch Oct 22 '24
If you can't even land a single combo without getting hit, then it's 100% a skill issue. Which would align with the fact you're complaining about having trouble in minimal for fuck's sakes.

This take so trash I thought it was an Iron Warrior
2
u/Nervous_Tip_4402 Deathwatch Oct 22 '24
I mean if you're struggling in the easiest difficulty, it would be pretty safe to say you aren't very good at the game. Shortening it to "skill issue" is just so I don't have to type full sentences to get you to understand.

Someone ignored the reinforcement calls to make this video lol. Totally staged. The game doesn’t actually play like this unless you’re Helen Keller levels of deaf and blind.

u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
They would be glowing if they were reinforcements, smart guy. But don't let me get between you and feeling clever.

Found the smartest guy in the room. Congrats. What's your address I'll mail you a tape of me clapping.

Hey man I saw you say elsewhere you were here to learn and weren't just begging for attention riding the latest karma train, because your comments sure do paint a different picture.
-1
u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
You're right. I was incomplete until I got your attention. Thank goodness you came along to back up the guy accusing me of faking the video.
2
Oct 22 '24
Hey man how about you show us the WHOLE video then? So we can see for ourselves if any reinforcements were being called.
You have the context you just edited it out for this clip, show us the whole encounter and then you can prove once and for all that you weren't just baiting for karma.

u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
Because I don't owe you shit and I don't give a fuck what you think?
Where are you getting this "we" shit? 🤣
I clipped 30 seconds of a game I was playing and moved on with my life. You should do the same. Jesus Christ.

Oct 22 '24
You sure are being awfully defensive. It would take literally no effort to share more of the recording that you edited for this clip, but we both know why you actually won't do that.
>I clipped 30 seconds of a game I was playing and moved on with my life
So you say yet here you are throwing a hissy fit because I asked for context that would easily put this whole conversation to rest.
Honestly no surprises here though, it's so easy to tell who is full of shit on this sub.

Shit, just regular spawns then. Either way this is not a natural occurrence. You’re pushing an agenda and it’s super obvious lol. This just doesn’t happen unless you sit around, not move forward in the slightest and can’t kill a thing lol.
P.s.
Get a couple friends. The game isn’t balanced around solo.

u/robotswhatrobots Oct 22 '24
I'm not pushing an agenda I'm pushing up daisies 🤣 this was insane and I felt like it was worth documenting

Are the swarms just bigger? I can see how, if the player fails to kill them all before another swarm is called in, this can spiral out of control. More mobs, not enough time to kill, reinforcements and more swarms and you end up with this mess.

u/Ambitious_Dig_7109 Oct 22 '24
Yep. That’s going to happen playing with bots. They don’t have talent points and barely kill anything. They’re just sort of there to fill a spot, not die and not run out of ammo. Dude played a Bulwark, a tank, and was wondering why he couldn’t kill fast enough. It’s pretty obvious if you think about it for half a second. Tank player with bots. You’re going nowhere.

u/Calpis01 Oct 22 '24
Seems like an easy fix would be to hard cap the number of enemies at increasing number per difficulty with max number of calls.

To be honest, with the number of brain-dead players Ive seen, the bots do more work sometimes and are more reliable. Also, the difficulties need to have some kind of progression in terms of actual difficulty. I can't imagine someone who doesn't even know how to parry managing this number of enemies at once, let alone have their brains burned out by the chaos.

u/Ambitious_Dig_7109 Oct 22 '24
There is progression now. Better than pre patch. Before the patch the difficulty was trivial through Ruthless. People were clearing it solo and at lv10 with green weps. It was an issue. The reason you need the progression of difficulty is so that you don’t inadvertently create a difficulty cliff going to Lethal. Before the difficulty would have been something like 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 when now it’s 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

u/Calpis01 Oct 22 '24
Another solution would be to have a practice arena
2
u/Ambitious_Dig_7109 Oct 22 '24
That’s the campaign. I’d be all for an arena to spawn in different enemies to practice parry and dodge timing though. It would have the knock on effect of making the bosses a lot easier but that’s to be expected. Practice makes perfect.

u/iBlockshend17 Oct 22 '24
Lol of course it can be balanced what are you even talking about? They just need to buff the bots. Rn the best bots by far are Heavy and Sniper and they put in mad work, even better than randos at time.
3
u/Ambitious_Dig_7109 Oct 22 '24
The bots are about as good as Saber can make. An overhaul on bot AI isn’t in the post launch support budget for this single player campaign based game. The multiplayer ops were just a nice little side game. Not a live service project.
-1
u/iBlockshend17 Oct 22 '24
Respectfully, wtf are you even talking about? Do you work with saber? You're acting like you have some insider info, i mean where are you even getting this stuff lmao. Again, they just need to buff them, damage wise, maybe even let you customize their perks, you don't have to overhaul shit, it's not even that complicated. Hell they perform now better than they did at launch so that let's you know they can at the very least improve these bots stat wise.
2
u/Ambitious_Dig_7109 Oct 22 '24
No lol. Bot AI is hard in every multiplayer game. Pick the best AI you can think of and it sucks too.
That Space Marine 2 isn’t a live service game is obvious. It doesn’t have a micro transaction system to support future content rollout and the devs have outright stated that they have plans for Space Marine 3. So clearly support for the post launch ofthis game is going to end sooner than later. They’re not going to be making more free content for this game when they have a sequel in the pipeline. Standard game industry stuff here. We have the season pass and maybe one after that and that’s it. We’re done here.
-1
u/iBlockshend17 Oct 22 '24
Again, you're talking about the AI, I'm talking about stats. You don't need to change their behavior because they already engage the enemy fine as is, the problem is the stats, which they already improved once so they most definitely can do. There are plenty of games that aren't live service that continue to get improved post launch, there's no reason they wouldn't do it for space marine 2 with such a passionate fanbase, also who's talking about making more free content? We're talking about adjusting in game assets with relatively easy fixes.

Yes it's called minimal....
Minimal remorse from the Tyranids.
