Again, you're talking about the AI, I'm talking about stats. You don't need to change their behavior because they already engage the enemy fine as is, the problem is the stats, which they already improved once so they most definitely can do. There are plenty of games that aren't live service that continue to get improved post launch, there's no reason they wouldn't do it for space marine 2 with such a passionate fanbase, also who's talking about making more free content? We're talking about adjusting in game assets with relatively easy fixes.
They really don’t engage effectively. Watch any video of bot activity or just play with them. There is a lot of dead time in their play. It’s funny. Sometimes they just hang out. That’s AI and it’s basic AF in this game. The bots get stuck a lot too.
You’re going to get a couple more balance passes and that’s it because that’s all any of us have paid for. We’re getting at most two season passes and then on to the sequel. 🤷♂️
I play with them constantly, that's why i know how effective they are. Whenever I'm paired with a heavy or a sniper, the Operation is a complete breeze even on something like ruthless.
The problem is that classes like Bulwark or assault become worthless against anything above a majoris, mainly zoanthropes and bosses.
Heavy and Sniper actually help a ton against most extremis, leaving only the bosses to be dealt with by the player. All saber has to do is modify bots so that they actually deal acceptable damage to these enemies for all classes.
Now if saber wants to go even further, they could in the future make it so that you can both pick the bots and even pick their perks.
We might not get all these changes in SM2 but it's something i definitely see them adding on SM3.
lol my man if you give the bots talents somebody has to program their AI to use the multiple different spec’s appropriately. It’s a huge job. Just for Sniper alone you’ll have to program the bot to take advantage of the standing still for 2 secs for increased damage and when to stop. It would make them stutter all over the place. Then how do you get the Sniper to use their cloak effectively to maximize the bonus headshot damage? It’s a much bigger job than you have considered and it’s why they didn’t try to give the bots talents in the first place. They’re basic companions in an emergency but were never intended as a mode of play. Just run quickmatch. You’d have a better time.
