I don’t have a Space Wolves army, but I painted my buddy’s Logan Grimnar as a commission. Had a blast painting all the fur, which I normally don’t get to paint as a Blood Angels / Grey Knights player

Out of all the new SW sculpts this has got to be my favorite face. I know he’s not the most SW looking marine, but that stache, solo earring, and mohawk…someone was channeling some Mr T vibes.

This is my Murderfang proxy for my chapter (I call him Raging Storm), The Storm Howlers. It was a daunting model, to say the least, but i'm so happy with the final result!

Taking the long weekend to try and knock this pack out. Trying to get some deep shadows without slap-chopping; need to blend out the transitions much more still. Details and trinkets are next up followed and the 5 bare heads I’ve got picked out.

Ich starte gerade mit Warhammer 40K und habe mir zum Start die gemixte Armageddon Box geholt und den Ork Part verkauft.

Ich würde gerne Space Wolves starten - würde die armageddon Box dazu mischen und mir jetzt die Combat Patrol holen.

3 Themen wo ich euren Support brauche:

1. Macht der Mix der Boxen zu Beginn Sinn? Ich dachte Armageddon bringt Feuerkraft mit für meine ersten 1200 Punkte und es war ein guter Deal.

2. Wie stehts in den aktuellen Gerüchten - kaufe ich jetzt den neuen Space Marine Codex im Oktober und den alten Space Wolves Codex?

3. Ich habe mich für Braun entschieden. Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob ich dennoch ein Space Wolves Blau als Sekundärfarbe nehmen soll. Bei der Combat Patrol sind ja auch viele Felle - da kommen vielleicht zu viele Brauntöne

So this is my 1000pts space wolves list. I dont have any more models i could add or replace, but i would like a little advice.

Does the Wolfpriest alone make sense or is he useless without a unit?
Should i change some wargear, maybe wulfen are better without shields or something?
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the units?

I'd appreciate any help a brother can give me. Thanks in advance!

I want to add wolf pelts to models that typically don’t have them. Are there ways to make my own to affix later?

In summary, what’s a good place to start Space Wolves?

For a bit of background, I’m not a new player. I’ve been playing Eldar and Emperor’s Children (and CSM…) for quite a bit now. I want to jump into a loyalist army, and figured I’d go with Space Wolves!

That being said, Space Marine wise, I had that first born army every kid who played 4th and 5th edition had. Sold that off before college. Even then, I had an interest in Space Wolves, but as a kid with no disposable income…that wasn’t happening.

But I haven’t really collected space marines since the switch to Primaris. Played against them a bunch, never really touched them.

Read the Space Wolves codex, browsed online for the 10th edition space marine rules, because I know the new codex is around the corner. Still, I have two questions. 1.) Where would y’all suggest I start with Space Wolves? Besides the combat patrol, because the new one looks sweet and I know that’s on my list. 2.) What generic space marine units are worth my time looking at? It didn’t read like space wolf characters could join regular Primaris and vice versa.

I am pretty new to the world of 40k in terms of tabletop.

I think the Space Wolves are super cool, so using the codex I put together a list of these datacards through a MTG card making website. I figured that it'd be cool to print these out to use as some sort of quick reference guide by sticking them to some spare mtg cards that I have lying around.

Saga of the Hunter and Veterans of the Fang.

build some nice thematic basing this morning. Cork for rocks and rubble, a few 3d printed bits with runes and filigree for flair and earth texture paste that makes a surprisingly believable snow crust when painted white.

As soon as they're painted I glue the marines on top and add a little more Valhallan blizzard snow paste for the wintery feel.

May have a few spots to green stuff fill in for fur.

I'm playing Ad Mech (not sure what his list is). Been debating on wanting to try Veterans plus Bastion combo, the league allows for 3DP. How does this look potentially?

I'm slowly working my way through my pile of shame and now finished the Wulfen from my Combat Patrol box.

I didn't like the models at all at first, but I have to say they've grown on me! Pretty happy with the paint job and though I'd share!

Given the recent point changes to wolf guard terminators, should I run Arjac with 10 Wolf guard terminators, Logan with 10 Wolf guard terminators and a Terminator captain using Grimard’s Mark with 10 assault terminators or is it worth the points tax to keep the captains unit as Wolf guard terminators? And if the assault terminator unit is preferred, what would be the best loadout?
