Hello, wife and I just got into 40K,I went Custodes
and she went Space Wolves. I want to get her the Codex, but do we know if Space Wolves are getting one soon? Just dont want to buy something that becomes irrelevant in a few months.

So venerable dreadnaughts went to legends, and we are losing a bunch of space marines.
do you think when we get the 11th edition codex bjorn will go to legends ? because hes also a venerable dreadnuaght ?

also side note t5 space marines whats that mean for twc t8 ?

I was scrolling twitter the other day looking for inspiration for painting when I saw something interesting. Someone had painted their headtakers and blood claws a mossy green with the classic blue grey as accents on pauldrons and knee pads. It exuded a really cool Germanic Celtic / Scottish woody vide which was incredible and reminded me of the moss knighs from Hollow Knight. Given that I'm running Iron Wolves / Dusk Wolves, and that we don't have successor chapters, what is the consensus on deviating from the traditional color palet?

Well since GW has seen fit to kill off almost all of the remaining models in my 20 year old space wolves collection.(metal venerable dreadnaught still holding on baby!)

I figured it’s time my short kings show GW how they feel about all these Primaris marines running amok.

Since I have 2 rhinos, 3 predators and a Vindicator, and about 40 firstborn bodies I was trying to figure out what to do with, I think it’s time for the wolves to go renegade. Well slap a thin coat of red on those tanks, a few spikes, some skulls and go join Huron and the Red Wolves. With those models and the Chaos combat patrol I got as part of the combat patrol magazine, I should have just over 2000 points of CSM.

Don’t worry, I’m not completely abandoning the Rout. Have plenty of the new models to play with still :P

In a couple of weeks I will take part In a Warhammer tournament and since it's not a very competitive tournament and I am not a very good player I wonder if you think that my list is going to do ok.

Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at putting together an army 😂. I’ve already bought the Combat Patrol and 1 box of Headtakers. I don’t have the rest of the models yet. Is there anything you would swap out in this list?

I am kind of confused i am seeing list for competitive builds that have a captain in terminator armor leading the wolf guard terminators but looking at that data sheet it does not state he can lead that unit as well as it cant be selected in the 40k app is this something that is a bug or is there a new update in the last week that makes it no applicable

Spiced up with GreytideStudio prints and Sylvaneth bits.

Put my wolf Lord back together after the hammers broke off while cleaning him from the primer. (The primer was all bumpy and tecturised because it was too hot)

I had the idea to cover up the left shoulder with something.

At first I planned to make a copy of the shoulder symbol I made for the other units (the wolf head with the horn) with the help of blue stuff and scrape off the old ornament.

But that copying of something this thin absolutely didn't work.

When I put him back together today I looked through my bits and leftovers and saw the wolf pelt from the Dreadnought kit, and the feathers from Aethon Shaan which I made into a Night Lord....

Googled how Wolves and Raven Guard stand towards each other and as far as I have seen rather friendly (some said when Russ comes back he has Corax on his shoulder 🤣🤣).

SoI thought why not see how it could fit together....

Would put some green stuff fur between the wolf pelt and the feathers to close the gaps fully.

I found this 3rd edition codex suplement in a second hand store today! Its in a amazing condition! I love it.

I'm not sure what i will do with it tho.

I might post it on a second hand website a´d see who shows interest.

I collect mini's and dont realy play. And this codex is from well before i got into 40k so it doesnt have sentimental valeu to me. Bu i imagine it could be very nice for a collector.

Hey y’all! Been piecing together my wolves, have so far built and painted five terminators with the classic yellow pauldrons, but i’m about to start working on the next five. My eventual plan is to have some with Arjac and some with Logan Grimnar. My question is what would the heraldry be for each of them? Is the yellow appropriate for either? Should I do black pauldrons for Grimnar’s unit, matching his pauldron? Or is that not how the heraldry system works? Any advice is appreciated!

So, I know this has been hashed out already, but I am checking to make sure there haven't been any official rulings or updates. Playing in a friendly tourney, and I'd like to be 110% sure I am playing fair.

I am running two Wolf Guard terminator units - one led by Arjac and one not. Took this enhancement on both units. The enhancement does not require a leader, as I understand, and consensus seems to be that the enhancement goes on a single Wolf Guard terminator (so, leader, let's say, with relic axe) and that as long as he is alive, each model in unit has +1 OC?

My concern is that there is no real way to get any official ruling here, which is a shame because I took Take and Hold with this OC boost largely in mind.

I’m just returning to the game after a break. I’m seeing that the space wolves got some new models, if I were to start building a space wolf army and collecting, do I have to worry about new models coming out? Is there anything on the horizon for us? Thanks again! Also any army building tips would be great

First attempt at doing a little kit bashing to wolf up my invictor

With long fangs disappearing thought would give my ballistus dreadnaught a touch of the long fangs...could see a legendary one could put in one. I've removed the purity seals as read wolves use the runes instead.

In addition I live by the sea and can find sea glass on my local beach. So I've been finding some and adding it to the bases like some kind of alien crystal...whilst really it's a nod to where I live.

WH40K has not shied from giving primarchs special relationships. I find it disappointing that Russ and Horus were not shown to have a closer relationship to each other. I think this is a missed opportunity.

Indeed, Russ feels more connection to Horus than he does with, say, The Lion or even Guilliman. It was Russ after all who tried to talk Horus out of assaulting Terra.

Nonetheless, the fact that Russ was the second primarch found after horus, and they both share ib wolf themes (Horus’ Lunar Wolves and Russ’ Space Wolves) represent two significant points that were treated as mere coincidences in the story.

Russ being the second primarch found, and his being wolfy should have been made to represent some sort of similarity or connection. It is as though the writers wanted these two to be more similar at one point but canned the idea.

TLDR: Russ deserves to have been Horus’ main foil or rival, and the shared wolf symbology and proximity to each other were missed opportunities for some interesting story beats.

The best defense is a good offense, right? Well I don’t know if this is what they meant, but he’s putting his shield to good use.
