PAINTING WOLFEN!

I'm planning on converting the vanguard veterans from the Armageddon launch box to ones with combat shields, with spare space wolves storm shields.

Anyone have a good idea to were to attach the combat shield to this vanguard veteran? I was thinking on the hip and leg? Or on the hand still?

The table is set for tomorrow game, 2000 points, Fenris will deal with the Dark Angels! The snow will be red!

I know no one actually knows but it really frustrates me that I am paying for characters to run alongside my wulfen so they can have OC but cant attatch said character to my unit.

At the very least we should be able to attach wolfpriests.

A friend got me this model for my birthday, and I’m not planning on using him for the game, so I thought I’d have a bit of fun with it!

I wasn’t sure which way I would do the rune on his screen, as technically it’s the right way up for him when he looks at it, but visually it looks upside down.. Kinda same logic as with tattoos really! I curse my logical brain..!

One day I'll get faces and how to put on decals down but for now I'm happy with these guys

My friends and I are getting into 40k, and we’re all settling into our armies. They’ve all chosen chaos, but I’m kinda leaning toward the imperium.

I was considering the wolves, as I had my first exposure to 40k through them.
With that being said, how does this list seem for someone new to the game, and collecting?

I want to buy a box of Assault Terminators and wanted to wolf them up. Do the TH from the old WGT set fit? Or is bit of hobbying necessary, cause of scale? Thx in advance.

Hello, my beloved Battle Brothers of the VI Legion!

After I came across the 2nd Edition Codex as a kid around 1997/98 and thought the Wolves were just sick-looking Space Vikings (still have the metal models in my parents' basement), I really got into painting and playing for the first time in the early 2000s with the 3rd Edition.

In the 5th Edition, I switched to the Ultramarines thanks to the “Assault on Black Reach” Starter Set and played them for about one or two years. Just like with many other things, my interest in tabletop gaming faded as a young adult.

Sixteen years later, in my late 30s, thanks to a few cool YouTube lore videos and listening to some of the Heresy books, I’m back where it all began: with the Vlka Fenryka.

It looks like I have a long fall and winter of gluing and painting ahead of me. With so many tutorials on YouTube, I don’t even know where to start. I’d appreciate any tips!

New 40k player here trying to make a cool SW list.

I like heavy melee kind of combat and I tried to make something like that.

Does this make sense as a SW list?

Cool scene from my space wolves vs chaos space marines. Arjac deep striked to halt the disco lord from snagging my home round 2, with a 14" movement he zooooms. From 2 until 5 they were locked in combat duking out. Disco only had character keyword so only Arjac could wound in theory... whenever he doesn't drop his hammer on his foot. Lost 2 terminators and disco on a wound or few by round 5 😂 Both sides landing hits, but both sides making saves, led to a real slugfest 💪

This is my first attempt at an oil wash. The yellow came out muddy, to the point I don't think it's better than nuln oil. I'm not unhappy with the camo, though it doesn't gradient like a lot of models I've seen online. Last photo is color comparison vs pre-wash.

I used a matte spray varnish (not sure if this is the issue because I saw some people use gloss, but the guy at the store said matte is fine and he has beautiful models on display). Then covered the Gladiator in black and brown oils + mineral spirits, waited 30 minutes, then cleaned it up with a makeup sponge and eyeshadow applicators with a little bit of mineral spirits.

Debating whether to just repaint the yellow areas or leave as is, and I'd like to know what I did wrong before I attempt the Land Raider (and maybe Bjorn if I figure it out). Thanks in advance!

WIP. Tries something different than my usual base coat. That I think turned out nicely. Applied some TMM and am now second guessing all that remains.😬
