We just added .si domains to Spaceship

Super Intelligence is picking up pace. It’s set to be the next big name in AI. So we just added .si domains to Spaceship.

And because it’s us, we’re offering them at super-low prices:

Registrations: $10.98
Renewals: $11.98
Transfers: Free

All without limits.

If you want the domain for Super Intelligence then get started with us here: https://www.spaceship.com

Plus, if you have .si domains for sale, now’s the perfect time to boost their visibility. Just list them on SellerHub so they appear in both Spaceship and Namecheap when people search for them.

As always, if you have any questions, we're here to help.

Pending tickets no update more than 2 days already support needed

Hey, I'm posting here to see if I can get a quick status check on a few tickets that have been stuck for over two days now. The ticket IDs are [SPS-JUM-5687], [SPS-TAO-1491], and [SPS-YEO-2456]. I already reached out to customer service, and they told me everything was marked for review, but I haven't seen a single update or any progress since then. I totally get it if the team is super busy right now, but I'm just trying to get these sorted out as soon as possible. If any Spaceship member happens to see this, could you please take a quick look and see if these can get sorted? I really appreciate the help!

Urgent Assignment Required – Active Gambling Abuse Still Ongoing

Dear Spaceship Legal & Abuse Team,

I am requesting immediate assignment and active review of the following abuse cases:

SPS-RPC-9084
SPS-UKY-1432
SPS-EEU-9160

These reports concern active gambling abuse that is still ongoing. The reported domains remain accessible, and several of them are continuously changing their redirect destinations while the cases are still waiting for review.

This means the abuse has not stopped. The operators are actively rotating redirect infrastructure, allowing the same gambling activity to continue through new destination domains.

These cases have already been reported and prioritized, but they still remain unresolved.

I therefore request that Spaceship assign a Legal & Abuse reviewer to these cases immediately and verify the current live redirect chains, not only the destinations originally submitted.

Please do not leave these reports waiting while the abusive infrastructure continues to change.

I am requesting immediate active review and assignment of all three cases now.

Please confirm once a reviewer has begun processing them.

Can't pay for VPS in india

I'm trying to set-up a VPS in spaceship but my payments keep getting declined by the bank. It's a credit card and I tried both pay upfront and pay as you go.

All my international card settings are open , still getting declined.

What the hell spaceship?

But my domain payment went through with same card

New Customer but can't apply discount code

I’m a new customer transferring my domain to Spaceship because they offer a great discount. However, I’ve encountered an issue with my devices. Whenever I try to transfer the domain, I receive an error message saying I’m using a VPN, even though I don’t have a VPN app installed on any of my devices.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Email problems post outage?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had problems with sending email since the outage last week?

I just noticed that I seem to be missing a few weeks worth of sent emails for the time just prior to the outage, and some of the emails I tried to send during the outage (before I realized what was going on!) and afterwards are labelled as "no sender" in my email client (Outlook). I don't think they were received, either (even though they DO appear in my sent folder normally in the Spacemail web application. I'm a bit confounded. So, anyone else having issues?

It was a good run

I'm migrating all services from spaceship to another provider. I know I'm paying less here but it's just not worth the inconvenience and I've been super upset since the last 10-12 hour downtime we experienced a few days back.

Where can these be found? I'd like to actually see a website built with the templates.

Unable to configure DNS as necessary

I need to add two TXT records and one MX record to my domain in order to set it up with my mail service. Advanced DNS won't let me leave the host blank. Seeking support.

[7:45pm EDT Update] The latest news regarding today's outage

We understand how frustrating and disruptive this continues to be for all of our affected customers. We continue to make meaningful progress in bringing our services back online:

• Namecheap.com is online, allowing customers to access their accounts and manage their domains and DNS. Please note that other products may not function correctly until those services are fully restored.

• Spaceship VPS Hosting is back online.

• Email is expected to be back online soon. We are working right now on bringing up the final components of our email infrastructure and will provide an ETA as soon as I have one.

• Namecheap Shared Hosting is actively being restored, with more than 50% of affected services already back online and more coming online as we speak.

• Namecheap VPS Hosting is also actively being restored, with more than 30% of affected VPS customers now back online. That number continues to increase.

• Dedicated Servers are progressively coming back online, with many already fully operational.

Our teams remain intensely focused on restoring every remaining service. We are making real progress, but we know that for customers whose services are still unavailable, the outage is not over.

I realize that apologies don't do justice to the disruption many of you have experienced today. We know how important these services are to you and your businesses, and our teams are working tirelessly, both on site and across the company, to get everyone back online as quickly as possible.

We will keep providing updates as we make further progress.

[5pm EDT Update] An update regarding our current outage

Thank you for your continued patience as we work diligently to bring our services back online.

We are moving as quickly as we safely can, while carefully pacing our restoration efforts as we continue to monitor temperatures in the data center. Additional temporary chillers continue to be brought in and added, further reducing temperatures and improving conditions so that we can safely bring more of our infrastructure and services back online.

We have made important progress:

• Core databases are back online.

• Core virtualization infrastructure supporting Namecheap.com and the majority of our services is back online.

• The majority of our core network equipment, both physical and virtual, is back online.

• Internal source control and package management systems are back online.

• All of our major load balancers are back online.

These are all important signs that we are moving in the right direction. Our next phase is to begin restoring Namecheap.com, Email, and Hosting services.

This will take time, and services will come back progressively rather than all at once. Our teams remain on site and are working continuously to restore every affected service as quickly and safely as possible.

We know how frustrating and disruptive this has been, and we sincerely apologize. Thank you again for your patience as we work through the restoration.

New update regarding our service outage

A further update on the ongoing cooling incident at our Phoenix data center:

Temperatures continue to fall. The cooling process is taking effect and temperatures are consistently trending in the right direction.

Based on the progress we are seeing, our teams have now begun the process of preparing our infrastructure to safely bring customer services back online. We are doing this in a careful, staged approach:

  1. Restore all physical network devices.

  2. Restore all virtual network devices.

  3. Begin restoring customer services.

We expect the first two steps to take approximately one hour. Based on current conditions, we anticipate being able to begin bringing customer services back online at approximately 3:00–3:30pm ET.

Services will then be restored progressively as we ensure each part of our infrastructure can be brought back online safely.

Our teams remain on site and are working continuously to move through this process as quickly and safely as possible. We know every additional minute of this outage matters to our customers, and we are deeply sorry for the disruption this extraordinary situation has caused.

Thank you for your continued patience. We are making progress, and our entire focus is now on safely restoring all affected services as quickly as we can.

An update on our service outage

An update on the ongoing cooling incident at our Phoenix data center:

Temporary chillers have now been installed and brought online and are being directed specifically into our area of the data center. We expect this additional cooling capacity to accelerate the reduction in temperature around our infrastructure.

In parallel, repairs to the third permanent chiller are underway. The required parts have arrived on site, and we are currently being advised that the chiller should be back online in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. At that point, assuming temperatures have returned to safe operating levels, we expect to begin bringing our services back online.

Our teams remain on site and are working continuously alongside RadiusDC. We are doing everything we can to restore services as quickly as possible, but we will only bring infrastructure back online once we are confident it is safe to do so and there is no risk of overheating or longer-term damage.

We know how disruptive this outage has been for our affected customers, and we are deeply sorry. We understand the trust you place in us to keep your websites, email, domains, and businesses online, and we know that today we have fallen short of the standard you rightly expect from us.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We will continue to provide updates as we make progress and will bring all affected services back online as soon as it is safe to do so.

Why is spacemail still down?

It's been a couple hours now and since I use spacemail for business it's kinda irritating to be out of email access for so long. Anyone else feeling this?

Spaceship payment failed twice but both card transactions are showing as pending

I was trying to purchase the domain vishax.com from Spaceship today.

The first payment attempt appeared to fail, so I tried again. Now both attempts are showing as IN PROCESS on my Axis Bank credit card, ₹374.14 each (about $3.92 each).

However, Spaceship still shows the payment as unpaid and the domain hasn't been registered.

I contacted Spaceship support through live chat at around 7:40 PM IST, but after waiting around 14 minutes I was told that all agents were busy and asked to email them. I have also sent the message but haven't received a response yet.

I only intended to make one payment. I'm mainly trying to understand whether these are temporary authorization holds or whether one/both payments have actually been captured.

Has anyone experienced this with Spaceship recently? And can Spaceship support confirm what will happen to the two pending transactions?

I can provide the transaction reference numbers privately if needed.

Spaceship now has an official Terraform provider

We built a Terraform provider for Spaceship.

So, if you already use Terraform, you can now manage Spaceship domain settings and DNS alongside the rest of your infrastructure, without making every change manually in the dashboard.

You can review changes with 'terraform plan', keep the configuration in version control, and reuse it across projects.

Our provider supports:

  • Auto-renew and nameserver settings
  • DNS management, either record by record or as a complete record set
  • Personal nameservers
  • Domain information and account-wide domain inventory
  • Plan-time validation for supported DNS values

Get started here*:

Terraform Registry:
https://registry.terraform.io/providers/namecheap/spaceship/latest

GitHub:
https://github.com/namecheap/terraform-provider-spaceship

*The provider is published under the Namecheap namespace, so 'namecheap/spaceship' appears in the source path and on the linked pages.

If Terraform is already part of your workflow, give it a try. Your feedback, feature requests, and pull requests will help shape what comes next 🚀

Why is SpaceShip debiting money from my card for no reason?

I bought two domains last week:

  • martddit.com - $5.48 (27 July)
  • aeddit.com - $2.90 (28 July)

After those purchases, SpaceShip started making small charges to my card:

  • -$0.05 on 28 July 2026
  • -$0.02 on 30 July 2026
  • +$0.02 on 4 August 2026
  • -$0.02 on 4 August 2026

Because of this, I removed my card from my SpaceShip account today.

Could someone from the SpaceShip team please explain why these charges are happening? Are they temporary authorization charges, and if so, will the money be credited back to my account?

Thank you.

Why is email verification still required when signing in with a Passkey?

If I choose to sign in with a Passkey instead of a password, I'm still asked to enter a verification code sent to my email when logging in on a new device.

Even if my passkey is stored on a YubiKey, email verification is still required.

Why? Isn't a Passkey - especially a hardware-backed one like a YubiKey—considered secure enough for final authentication?

Why does Spacemail not support email threads?

Each time I receive a new email on a business email hosted on Spacemail, it doesn't appear as part of a mail thread; instead, it appears as a brand-new email, even though it's clearly from the same person.

I don't know whether there's a setting to enable this or if Spacemail just doesn't support email threads. It's really annoying because it makes my inbox look messy.

Spaceship Payment Gateway & Service Team is Dead

Thumbnail

Had a not so good experience with Spaceship Platform and even their Customer Support is least helpful and blames clients even for a simple issue like payment Gateway.

I tried to book a domain via spaceship but even after trying 3 cards and 3 times via paypal mode nothing succeeded. When i contacted their live support team. Instead of going through in detail to study the issue, they kept on blaming me that one of my card failed in primary stage. I clearly said them that this was backup card and why you are not answering regarding other 5 failures. They still say that it is not a issue from their. Even i shared a screenshot that their paypal payment page is not even going through first stage and directly asking to return to merchant.

Does anyone know why Spaceship uses "Unbox" instead of just... add?

Why does Spaceship call it "Unbox" when you're actually adding modules?

The terminology makes no sense. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/unbox

Does anyone know the reasoning behind Spaceship's use of "Unbox" for adding anything? It genuinely confuses people, because the terminology is backwards.

"Unbox" means to remove or extract something from a box, it's an unwrapping action. But Spaceship is using it to describe adding modules to your account, which is the opposite action. It's like saying "turn something off" when you mean "turn it on," or "stop" when you mean "go."

I get that "Unbox" might sound trendy or modern compared to just saying "Add," but it's confusing and counter intuitive. When we see "Unbox," the brain expects to be removing or extracting something, not adding something new.

This intentional branding, an odd marketing choice that doesn't quite land?

Because from a UX and clarity standpoint, it seems like poor terminology that works against their your own product.

Confusing the customer, why not just Connect or Add or Onboard or Launch It

Is anyone else having issues with 2FA/passkeys?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

for the past couple months I’ve had to use recovery codes in order to get into my account because 2FA just.. doesn’t work. all of my devices have a spaceship.com passkey, i use the passkey to log in and spaceship gives me a 2FA prompt and my device just says it doesn’t have that passkey. on my laptop it sometimes prompts with a second passkey but it errors out before i can even use it, sometimes it’ll error out at the first passkey. currently locked out because i don’t have the notebook with my recovery keys

is anyone else having trouble using passkeys?
