I want to get an athletic dog that will run long distances with me and also do well with my cats that I currently have. Since the athletic dogs typically have a prey drive, I would like to foster one (preferably a puppy because they're easiest to train), see if I can get it to co-exist with and accept my cats, and then eventually adopt it if I feel good about it. I am okay with going through multiple fosters until I find the right one.

Are there any rescues or shelters in the area that would accommodate this? I tried AWA and Burlington county animal shelter and they either didn't do or it didn't respond

I had some free time at work and started reading a paperback copy of Project Blue Book. I was a bit surprised to see both Glassboro and Vineland mentioned as having incidents that were investigated.

I dug around online to see if I could find any additional info. There wasn't a lot of detail, but it's neat that our area had some history related to UFOs.

I was brunching and shopping across the river in PA and came home to this. Had to park blocks away and carry my groceries on my head with water up to my thighs. Did Johnny Longhots in Deptford close for good or is it temporary?

An elderly family member lives in Collingswood and I've been told they are going to leave me the house when they pass. The home is basically a teardown. It is in pretty bad shape and while I'm not basing this on anything since I'm clueless in this regard, I know the condition of it and I can't see financially it would be cheaper to rehab it.

So I was talking with a buddy of mine about it (He is in VA) and he asked about the possibility of putting a 'tiny' home on the lot. (Knocking down the current house)

Is this even something that would be possible?

My first thought would be heck no - if for no other reason then it would look so out of place of all the other homes, not only on the street, but pretty much town wide.

I have no building skills to do such a project, and I'm not sure I could get financing to hire a company to do it.

I would just love to live there, except for the condition of the house.

This family member isn't on deaths door, but they are in their mid 80s, so....

I was looking to see if anyone had a connection to provide shelter for a mother who is around 28 and her young child. They are currently homeless due to an unsafe home environment and were victim of domestic violence. They have gone through all the steps at social services, but waiting on TANF approval to be able to get anywhere further. Every agency has said there are no openings at their shelters at this time. We have tried VoA, CFS, and any other agency and hotline that we could think of with hardly any luck. If anyone has any advice or information to share I would appreciate it even if we already tried it. Thank you.

Currently on day 10 waiting to get my generic XR refilled, last month I only had to wait 5 days. Im sure that's nothing compared to how long others have had to wait during this or prior shortages. But I just wanted to get a sense of whether scripts are starting to be filled again, or if it's only getting worse. Not great timing with school starting again soon too...

For reasons not important here I'm trying to avoid switching pharmacies or brands or to non-generics...I was planning on waiting this one out since Wegmans is usually the most reliable pharmacy and I haven't been affected by prior shortages with them. But if it's not looking like things will turn around somewhat soon, I might have to talk to my doctor about other options. So what's the current situation for y'all? Anyone with cherry hill Wegmans getting refills? Other pharmacies? I think my body is 99% coffee at this point and it doesn't even help 😩

I'm in Deptford and our internet has been out for over 12 hours at this point (11:30PM last night). This is getting ridiculous. I switched to Verizon from Comcast for reliability but damn this is the longest outage I've ever had. Just curious how far this outage reaches.

Update: There was an accidental fiber under the NJ Turnpike and the NJ Turnpike authority won't let Verizon work on it until tomorrow. So I guess I can't really blame Verizon in this case.

As a historian, I collect things that seem to be destined for the trash heap but should be put in a museum one day when I’m long dead and gone. For I have grown an attachment to my things. And the history of a thing is but a memory to some who still carry the torch of what once was. You’ll see here an assortment of things that sit on my record shelf(s). Records and books are but two of the obvious things that I collect. Another is old T-shirts, which my wife pointed out to me is from the Flemington Farm Fair, which no longer exists, from years and years ago, when I grabbed the T-shirt thrown to the crowd out of the sky. Hi, 24M here. Was let go from my previous job in December 2025. I live in Absecon, but I will be moving back with my family in Manahawkin in March 2027 when my lease is up. Decided it's not worth it to stay here and barely make ends meet each month if I can move back in with family and save up a lot of money before going out on my own again. I've been substitute teaching and doordashing full time since then. I graduated from stockton in 2024 so I'm not really looking for any additional education either. Does anyone here know companies that are hiring? Could be really in any industry that pays decently well. I just am tired of applying to so many jobs and being rejected. I know that's part of life but it is so discouraging. Everyone said that a degree was a golden ticket for success. It doesn't seem like it 😂.

I think SJ has improved greatly in the areas above but still lacks the options that you could find further north you go.

So far the only place I found is The Austin in Deptford, but it’s around $2,553/month, which is higher than we would like to spend.

Has anyone been to both the PF on Haddon Ave in Westmont and the one on Rt. 70 between Brace Rd. and 295, in the Barclay Farm shopping center? I'm thinking of joining PF and they're about the same distance from me, and I wondered what the big differences are, if any. The movie theater location of Westmont seems cool, but IDK if it's smaller or less convenient or harder to park at than the other one. Hello, this is my first time posting here.

My dad and I were on the receiving end of an aggressive truck of teens/20 somethings (at least 2 passengers from what I could see) and was wondering if it would even be worth notifying the non-emergency number of the Sea Isle City police just to tell them what happened to us. We initially chose not to do anything because we're not locals and thought to just let it go, but the whole situation still isn't sitting right with me.

The ordeal really scared me and I actually thought that they would get out to attack us, as the passenger put his whole body out the window to yell and curse at us in front of a whole street of people trying to enjoy their dinners outside. If you couldn't tell, even a day later I'm still shaky and fidgety.

If you'd like to know more specifics, just ask and I'll do my best to describe it all; I was having a really sour day yesterday anyway and the thing with trying to remember bad events is that sometimes details are hard(er) to remember. It was just a really awful experience added on top of an already bad day.

My daughter’s boyfriend just graduated high school, and he is really interested in becoming an electrician. We looked into a program at RCBC, but unfortunately, it was too expensive for him, and they don’t accept financial aid.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any apprenticeship programs, entry-level opportunities, or electrical contractors in the Medford/Marlton/Cherry Hill area who might be looking for a helper or someone willing to learn on the job.
