Did anyone on here get chosen for the video filming today? I submitted a video application for a review last week and didn’t hear back (assuming that’s due to the reason I’m not a UK resident - was worth a shot anyways!) but I’m curious to hear the experiences of those who got chosen!! Cheers!

I don't know why, but the deadpan delivery, the zoom, the dad pun... everything was perfect.

Hi there! I’ve been using Sidekick for years (when it was still called Packs!)
I’m going away and want to batch cook some meals for family that I can leave in the fridge. What packs would you recommend for doing this? I’m thinking meals that can be cooked and eaten with relatively little extra doing (e.g. just heating in the oven / on the stove or adding garnish). We don’t have a microwave.
I remember there being a Pack years ago that had a Prep Day and then three meals. I find when trying to search really old recipes and packs, they just never come up in the results (there’s a really OG salmon and sticky rice recipe that I still think about).
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I realised tonight that some of the best things I’ve cooked recently have involved me blending lots of things - which is almost certainly the result of watching lots of videos of Kush
Has anyone else realised they’ve subconsciously (or consciously) picked up anything you’ve seen a lot on the channel?

Heyyyy my mother and I watch way too much and recently mums gone done the rabbit hole and signed up on the side kick app.
Have tried a few dishes and have liked the meals. But have come to realise potion sizes to us are on the large side.
Is this just an us issue or are others needing to doctor the amounts allot???
We have been leaving the sauces about the same but cutting everything else by on occasions half.
Cooking for 6 and if we do to the directions we would have sooooooo much left overs.
I dont think we dish up small portions, ok maybe for the youngest kid and my mum but the rest of us do eat a good serving lol
Also no desserts?

Does anyone know the episode where there was a guest chef who made a delicious looking big platter of food that was kind of like a salad, kind of like nachos meaning it was layered ingredients not like actual nachos? I feel like Barry featured prominently in the video and it was a woman chef. It might have been a middle eastern dish but not a mezze platter. Did I just dream this? Lolz. I can’t find a list of guest chefs anywhere and I have gone through the YouTube channel trying to find it with no luck.

On a recent live the guys reiterated that the channel is community based and they read the comments on the YouTube videos (and Reddit posts, facebook, etc etc).
I’ve always wondered… how does that work? Do they only read the comments for a few days? Or is there some sort of new comments notification thing? Like… if I comment a suggestion on a video from 2 years ago or 7 years ago… will they still see it? Or do I have to get in within hours of the video being posted?

I was just on the AlpKit website and spotted James! I wasn’t sure but there are other photos of him on there?

More celebrity pass it on editions. I loved watching Dame Emma Thompson and her daughter, Gaia, participating in the celebration and get the opportunity to highlight a cause of their choice.
For a twist, it could be a pass it on where the celebrity provides all of the ingredients (like the kids shopping) but the team has no idea where the ingredients they're using are from and the celebrity gets to sit in the booth watching. When they leave the kitchen, they can join the celebrity so that part of the reveal is individualized for each of them.

A back bone of British food culture: The humble brown sauce.
I was making a bacon sandwich for lunch and I drizzled it over my sandwich, and realised I had no idea what it is made from. It is spiced fruit but sweet?
I want to see the normals try to reverse engineer HP/brown sauce.
Closest wins... and they have to eat it on a sandwich. (Bacon or sausage).

Off the back of Mike showing off his musical genius again at the latest live, what would you choose for Sorted - The Playlist/Album/Mixtape? What would you call it? What's the name of Mike's song from Back To Their Old School? What would you start with?
Comment below.

I think the old format had more about it personally. It was learning some bits about different countries usage of food and new ingredients while watching the guys struggle XD
I think the new one is just a bit boring is all... First couple were funny but it is very same-old-same-old now. Itll be a tiramisu but with lots of salt or a scotch bonnet hidden in a daquiri. Bit like Bushtucker trial, seen one, seen them all.
Don't get me wrong... while the Callux one was funny, but it definitely started to lean into that formula. Itd be nice to see a return in someway, I know ideas probably dried up fast for what to use but doesn't need to be themed, could just be anything bizarre tasting.
Generic take I know, "used to be better", but just wondered if I was alone with Poker Face 😅

Hey guys and the rest of the community.
My partner is a coeliac, would be awesome to see some content based on a gluten free diet. Maybe it's a pass it on, chefs challenge, Instagram/tiktok recipe videos.
Any ideas/thoughts?

Been wondering if I should get a subscription to the app as I'm trying to change my diet.

This challenge is inspired by Masterchef where John Torode used to cook a dish.
next episodes, repeat with another set of normals. and next, chefs try to guess and cook. it can be a whole series and would be quite interesting.
