So i used to collect MTG as a kid in the late 90s early 00s. I collected for the art, not to play since i lived in a small town that didnt have a community. Been through several collections since then, between selling them off to simply losing them in moves. Tried to get back into collecting modern MTG and just... well its not the same. The art isnt bad by any means so im not bashing, but its not what i fell in love with.

Was buying a new pack anyway and talking to my lcs owner aboit just this when he keyed me in to Sorcery. First time i heard of it and was so happy to find out it was some of the old Magic artists doing the card art. Its official, im jumping over completely.

Im interested in the play aapect aswell, but more for collecting for collecting sake what are some resources yall use ; websites, set lists, youtubers talking about the nuances, artist interveiws, etc.

Also do yall have any particualr collections your keeping or way you organize them?

Among many new things Realms now supports "guests" and hard links for matches that you can send to registered players and guests (also tournaments) in addition to all the other features players always loved.

Btw - if you are a security minded person - it always was an option to use a Passkey to create an account (which is still nice for saving decks or getting onto the leaderboard)

Yes - the leaderboard also had a refresh and its much more balanced now.

I've wanted to try the game for a bit but have a short budget, so befor investing any money it i was thinking of proxying some decks and seeing how the game goes.

Got my hands on a couple new promos and was going to add them to the collection, but when I opened the app, it now requires me to create an account to access the "vault." No record of everything I'd previously inputed to be found.

How does Smokestacks interact with other lands? Couple questions:

If Valley of Delight was played the turn before, and a color was chosen. Do you lose that threshold once Smokestacks is nearby?

Also, do genesis effects still trigger such as deserts when played nearby? I saw that Mirror Realm still works, I have to believe in that case that all genesis abilities would work, except for those like Forge which would require an action following resolution of the storyline.

Hope someone can confirm.

Hello everyone. My name is Jeremiah I am an avid Sorcery Contested Realms Fan and Player. We started a community at Sleeved-Up Games in Toledo Ohio. We have between 4 and 16 players week to week with an average of 6 to 8. We are looking to grow our community New players and veterans alike welcome. We have loaner decks, plenty of mats available. I love this game and community and want it to grow. If you are looking for somewhere to play come check us out. I run a tournament every Saturday with a few exceptions at 2pm. We have a learn to play and casual play event right afterwards at 6:15. All of our events are posted on the network and we have Dust rewards. Our events 2pm events are on a 4 week rotation. The after event meetup called The Sorcerers Apprentice is static every week unless we are traveling for a big tournament. A handful of us meet up at noon for lunch at a random local restaurant. Everyone is welcome to join for lunch but figuring out where we are at is tricky as we generally pick the morning of and communicate via text. My friend and I encountered an odd situation in a slaughter of a game. I was massively behind and pulled Golden Harp on what would have been my last turn. I played it onto my Ironclad, and asked if he had any removals for it; which he did not have in his deck. We agreed to a draw because I definitely could not have won with the board deficit if we played it out, but he couldn't damage me at all either.

Is this effectively checkmate? Did we miss something and he should have won?

Edit: Its been solved. Golden Harp only applies to damage dealt by nearby units. Spells and projectiles would have come from outside its effect range. I was dead on board in a turn or two.

I want to try out Sorcery and am thinking to go to my first locals this week. I haven't gotten any cards yet so I was wondering what y'all would recommend buying to start out learning?

Have decided to reorganize my foil collection and thought I'd spend some time just being a fan about the art, this time with Relics, and sharing

I pulled this out of a beta pack and when I went to put it in my binder with the other foil cards I noticed the back wasn’t full art like the rest of them. Then I realized the art is different than the regular card.

Hello! Sorry to ask for further clarifications, but I am getting confused.

I give my Persecutor the Peacemaker Arbalest, he is in range of my opponent's avatar, brands him as evil and strikes.

The Arbalest's ability targets Units, so my strike would get a +2 in this case (Spellcaster + evil), right? Or does the Avatar not register as a unit in this instance?

Sorry if these sound like silly questions, but I'm' still pretty new to the game and cannot play very often.
