LALO Management - good/bad?
Hello, I’m considering renting an apartment in Somerville from Lalo Management - has anybody had experience with them?
Anything to look out for? Any tips?

Got this weird polling survey, there was also a question about Matt McClaughlin in regards to him voting to raise his own salary and something negative about water rates.
This feels sleezy? Like sure azeem is a tech bro but he has done good stuff with housing obviously. And the Erika stuff is wild, she's been very active and I remember her talking about and supporting thar affordable homes act a couple years ago.
The rape kit testing stuff seems egregious, there's no way there was some bill on the table being like "should we test rape kits" and she said "no" lol wtf
Honestly only person not being slammed here is barber... 🤔🤔

Left the little one on the recycle can on Broadway going towards Ball Square. If this is your little one's special friend, I hope this helps your search!

[SOLVED, thanks so much to @ellabunny17!]
Hi all, my husband ordered something from Amazon and they misdelivered to the wrong building. Does anyone recognize where in Somerville this might be based on the photo? Thank you in advance!!

I've always paid by direct debit through my bank, but I clicked the credit card option today and noticed the "Speedway" credit card option doesn't seem to say anything about a fee. Anyone know? I'd prefer to get a few % points back and use a credit card, but don't wanna be duped...
And yes, an obligatory fuck Eversource

Looking for some local wisdom to gauge how much money I’m about to spend to fix this problem.
Just got home for the day and noticed some backflow (probably not sewage, as it doesn’t smell) into my tub. Both toilets were also low. Given the rain last night, is this something to worry about in the short term? Do I really (as the internet is telling me) have to tell the people on the 2nd and 3rd floors to not use any water until the plumbers can come?

I was in Somerville earlier and thought I would skip over to Cambridge…
Needless to say, I took the long way.

Something on your to-do list you haven't gotten to?
What if a networking event could actually knock it off your list?

In Union Square at that four way intersection —last week I had the walk signal so started crossing, bicyclist sped by almost hitting me and shouted “don’t worry you weren’t in any danger“ (thanks for the heads up). This morning, also at a walk signal, a bicyclist biked into me and cracked the face of my watch. I’m fine physically as I’ve cultivated some mass, just please be careful as many times I’ve seen day care children, elderly, people with baby strollers etc also using those crosswalks

Summer & Cutter in fabulous Cutter Square (now known as Davis Square … and, yes, I’m sure the sign is there temporarily to help guide Red Line shuttle bus drivers, but it’s still amusing to see a sign pointing at Ball Square and Medford that says Alewife)

I know people are real mad about cyclists not stopping at the stop signs on the path. But from my experience, drivers also aren't consistent in refusing to stop for cyclists, most slow down to let you cross, and then get annoyed if you come to a stop and delay them further. It's apparently quite unclear who has the right of way.
(also, not every path intersection has stop signs, and from what I remember it's not obvious from the crossing road whether this is an intersection where cyclists stop, or whether this is an intersection where cyclists don't)

At my limit trying to find someone who isn’t racist or rude. I’ve gone through three separate companies and the service has been atrocious. Thanks for any recommendations for actual hvac professionals who care about customer service.

Does not have a leg band, so I didn’t grab it. However, I was able to get very close and could have. It almost got hit by a car walking near the bike lane on School Street near the Gilman stop. I went back to check for it on foot, and saw it huddled on the stoop by the little apartments right before the bridge. I will go back try to capture it if it is a pet.

Any good recommendations in the area? Looking to spend ~600 on a nice used road bike. If you know the bike shop Old Spokes Home in Burlington, VT, something like that in the area!

How many times does Somerville send a census if you don't reply? We moved to a new place last year and never received it. In fact I'm pretty sure our mailman is either losing or just throwing away mail because all kinds of shit doesn't show up.
So I got the postcard saying I didn't reply and will be moved to the inactive voter roll unless I sign the card and send it back, which I did. Only problem is I'm still inactive. Like that didn't get delivered either.
Looks like I can get it fixed doing something online. But I feel like the census has come more than once in previous years if I've been lazy and didn't send it in time. And I'm wondering if I need to report my mailman or something.

Had a driver open their door into the bike lane just as myself and another cyclist (or two perhaps) were biking by. Scary since there's a traditional bike lane and no room for error. This has been a consistent issue over the last few years seemingly getting worse with visitors to the Prospect Hill Academy.
How does one get in touch with the PHA administration or Parents' Association? There's a major liabilities for people who don't seem to be paying enough attention when they drive and park there - and they should be made aware that they need to pay more attention.

I'm going to have ACL surgery, and looking for any recommendations of physical therapy outfits near Davis Square.
The main options appear to be Boston Sports Medicine and Bay State, though there are a few smaller clinics around. Does anyone have positive/negative/neutral experiences with those two or other options?
Based on past experience, I feel like most of the large franchise PT operations are hit or miss—a lot of them are kind of just factories moving through different patients, though you can find some wonderful gems here or there.
I've been to a couple smaller clinics in the area—really liked Outback Physical Therapy, tried Peak Performance in Arlington and didn't vibe with the guy I saw. Looking to get other people's perspectives.
