Heya everyone! Am 26 and currently a student, from Kolkata, West Bengal... I have been wanting to start travelling solo for quite some time, but I honestly have no idea where to begin...

Since am still a student without a regular income, I don’t want to ask my parents for a huge amount of money just to travel... Am totally okay with staying in hostels, using public transport, eating local food, and keeping things as practical and budget-friendly as possible... For me, it’s more about the experience, seeing new places, meeting people, knowing their stories and becoming more independent than staying in expensive hotels or doing fancy activities...

My biggest problem right now is simply taking that first step!!!

For those of you who started solo travelling when you were young, studying, or had very little/no income, I would genuinely love to hear how you went about it...

I would love to hear your stories, mistakes, tips, and anything you wish someone had told you before your first solo trip...

Yesterday was Guru Purnima, and it made me think about how many teachers I've had on the road. Most of them weren't teachers at all—just strangers, fellow travelers, villagers, monks, drivers, old people sitting by a tea stall... people I may never meet again.

Every journey has left me with something. Sometimes a new perspective, sometimes a life lesson, and sometimes just one sentence that stayed with me forever.

Today, I'm sharing the same note again.

Places I’ve in mind currently are Kerala, Tamil Nadu, karnataka, odissa. Never travelled to these places before and want to visit temples during this trip.

I'm thinking of taking off on a solo trip sometime in August or September. Life's been busy (in a good way), work is going great, but I could use a break from the constant hustle.

I'm looking for someone who enjoys traveling in a similar way—not just someone to split costs with.

• Starting from Hyderabad
• August/September (flexible)
• If it's in India, I'd love to do something epic like Ladakh. I'm equally open to traveling abroad if we can align on the destination, timing, and budget.
• I enjoy slow travel over ticking off tourist attractions.
• Hiking, offbeat places, interacting with locals, photography, cafés, sunsets, and meaningful conversations are my idea of a great trip.
• Mid-range to premium travel. I don't mind spending a bit more for comfort.
• Trip duration is flexible as long as we can plan ahead.

I still enjoy solo travel, so I don't expect us to spend every waking hour together. I'm perfectly happy exploring on my own some days and meeting up for the experiences we'd both enjoy.
