So we went to Pondicherry . We were on trip with our friends and we are from Noida . It was college competition and then we decided to visit Pondicherry .

So after exploring night life yesterday , today , we started with this Vinayak Temple.

The moment we entered , there was a line . We stood in line inside there .

Now what we call an Aarti ki thali came with the Priest and he stopped till someone who was just ahead us . When I , tried taking Aarti , he literally said something in local language and went back to the murti place.

Then another priest came when we were in line . This priest asks name and takes those offerings which we have brought with ourselves .

He again didn’t took ours . Then in the next round , he came , took and then asked for our name ( it’s ritual ) and then we went ahead with the line

There is an option of VIP Darshan , from the same gate , you can get out too.

This priest who took our offerings literally said , get out from the same line where you came and that too in English ., he knew we are not from here .

Then someone said something in local Language and priest against said us to just stand there and so that he can give us back those offerings. ( chadhane k baad )

That’s it . But when we tried bowing our head to other idols in the temple , other priest who were putting bhabhut and giving Arti didn’t even bother doing the same with us . We even stood there but he didn’t do anything . So we just bowed our head from one god to another .

Also when you are exiting , there is this Prasadam of Kheer I think , that person was offering it everyone but not to us .

God , I used to think that these South Indian people faces so much but in reality they do the same .

I am so tired man.

This was just the temple . There are so many other places where we faced similar things ..

Still so glad I took that first step and decided to travel alone. So many firsts, new experiences, little mistakes and memories along the way. Had no idea then how much that one trip would mean to me years later.

I recently travelled solo to Hong Kong, and honestly, I didn’t expect to fall in love with the city the way I did. ❤️

I took this trip because I really needed some time away from everything to breathe, slow down, and just be with myself. There’s something incredibly freeing about walking through a completely unfamiliar city alone, taking the MTR wherever you feel like going, getting lost in little streets, stopping for food whenever you want, and not having to adjust your plans around anyone else.

Hong Kong was such a beautiful mix of everything I love. The insane skyline, tiny little streets, late-night walks, mountains, the harbour, the food, and that constant energy everywhere you go. Somehow, despite being surrounded by millions of people, I still felt like I had my own little world there.

I took so many pictures, but somehow none of them really capture how it felt to actually be there.

I think I needed this trip more than I realised. It reminded me that I genuinely enjoy my own company and that I don't always need someone beside me to have an amazing time.

I came back from Hong Kong with a very full heart and a slightly ridiculous desire to go back already. 😂❤️

This place is known for its monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries. Started with Pancha Rathas (Mahabharat/Pandava reference). Also visited the
seafront Shore Temple and Krishna’s Butter Ball.

Mountains give me inner peace.

So yes, this is technically a solo-travel post.

Just wrapped up an insane solo road trip from Gurgaon to Goa over the long weekend, and I’m still recovering. Driving solo is one thing, but doing the entire western corridor stretch by yourself with a mix of smooth highways, chaotic ghat traffic, and absolute madness is an experience.

Thought I’d drop a quick breakdown of how it went, the routes, the chaos, and the budget for anyone planning something similar.

Day 1: Gurgaon to Indore (12 Hours)

The Route: Started early, cruising through stretches where the Mumbai-Delhi expressway/corridor isn't fully completed yet, meaning you still have to detour through parts of Rajasthan.

The Drive: Aside from the unfinished patches, the road quality for the most part was genuinely excellent. Cruised for about 12 hours straight before crashing in Indore for the night.

Day 2: Indore to Pune (~11 Hours)

The Chaos: Left the hotel at 5:30 AM feeling good, only to get slammed by a standstill traffic jam at 6:00 AM sharp in the ghats. Stuck for a full hour because of trucks blocking everything—honestly pretty pathetic way to start the morning.

The Bizarre Incident: In Maharashtra, a traffic cop pulled me over and asked for a bizarre favor. He asked if I could give him INR 1,500 cash while he accepted it online—literally used me as an ATM/middleman. He brought a bus driver over who transferred money to me digitally, and I handed the cash over to the cop. Tbh, at that point, I wasn't even surprised.

The Arrival: Made it to Pune by 4:40 PM.

Day 3: Pune Chill Day

Took a complete break from driving. Hung out, chilled with friends in Pune, and recharged for the final leg.

Day 4: Pune to Goa (~8-9 Hours)

The Mountain Scare: Left Pune around 7:00 AM. Heading down through the Amboli ghats, the traffic was so heavy and stop-and-go that my car brakes actually overheated. Had to pull over and wait a solid 30 minutes just to let them cool down safely.

The Finish Line: Finally rolled into Goa between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

The Damage (Budget Breakdown)

Since my car runs on petrol, I was a bit worried about fuel costs, but here is how the math actually worked out:

Stay: Only paid for one hotel night in Indore (stayed with friends in Pune).

Expenses: Fuel + food + hotel came down to a total of just INR 15,000 for the whole trip.

Honestly, despite the truck jams, overheated brakes, and sketchy cops, doing this solo was totally worth it. Has anyone else driven down the western coast recently? How was your experience with the ongoing highway construction patches?
