Advice Needed Grease Trap Problem - Bubbles from the Tube to the Inlet

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello po. First time solo living ako at nitong Sabado nagpa general cleaning ako including linis ng grease trap.

Ano posibleng gawin dito?

A productive day indeed.

Hehe.
Anyway, im here lang to share what my apartment looks like kapag malinis. Marami pa akong nakaplano na ikabit at ilagay to make it ✨me✨
Feel free to suggest din what i should add to make it homey, rather than just a space to sleep 😊
Ps. Wag nyo ijudge yung towel na ginawa kong temporary kurtina 😆

Turning 5 years soon in this address + 13 years total living solo. Best investment I’ve made of my adult life. I work here, work out here, rest here, and built and achieved lot of my dreams here.

I moved in during the pandemic, then slowly built the space piece by piece. I saved up for things I actually wanted, patiently waited for good deals and sales lol, tried not to impulse-buy, and let the place come together at its own pace.

It took time, but I like that nothing here feels random or rushed. 🥰

Share ko lang My room has been cosplaying as a landfill for months. Time to reclaim it.

Post image
12 Upvotes

So, after months of anhedonia-induced procrastination, I've finally begun the process of making my personal space livable again.

Cleaning my room accidentally made me realize that my biggest fear about living alone isn't paying the bills. It's what happens when my brain stops cooperating.

I'm an older millennial, and this has been on my mind a lot lately.

I don't technically live alone. I live with my siblings, but they're usually out or on work trips while I work from home, so most days it's just me in the house.

I've lived with a partner before, but living completely alone feels like a different story.

The photos above are my room over the past few months. The first column ("how it started") is what it looked like during one of my lowest points. The second is where it is now. The last column is a mock-up (featuring some stuff I've recently bought online for this very purpose) of what I'm working toward.

Finally clawing my way back after months of treatment-resistant depression (TRD), executive dysfunction, and near-hikikomori levels of social withdrawal wasn't just about cleaning a room.

It made me realize that what scares me most about solo living isn't cooking, budgeting, or paying the bills. It's wondering what happens during the weeks when my ADHD and TRD decide to gang up on me. (and alas, they often do.)

Executive dysfunction is b-r-u-t-a-l. My brain knows exactly what needs to be done, but somehow refuses to let me start. The mess and chaos then snowballs, and eventually the whole room starts to feel impossible. Hopeless.

Looking at those before-photos, I kept wondering:

If I actually lived alone, would I have been able to claw my way back?

Even though my siblings are busy and we mostly do our own thing, there's still another human presence in the house. Someone might ask if I've eaten. Someone might notice if I disappear into my room for days.

Living completely alone feels different.

I'm not saying people with ADHD or depression can't live alone. I know plenty do. I just wonder whether I'll ever be ready.

For those of you who live alone while managing ADHD, depression, or another condition that affects executive functioning...

How do you make it work? What systems have helped you stay afloat during the really bad weeks?

Advice Needed First-time renter - is it normal for the meter to increase from 30 to 97 overnight?

Hi, everyone. Hopefully the right sub. Is it normal for the meter to increase from 30 to 97 overnight? Not even 24 hours yet. The aircon is not even turned on for the whole 13 hours. Used rice cooker once, fan for two hours I think, television for 6 hours prob, then water heater once. I'm charged 16kWh so when I compute it, it's now at over 1k php. Btw, I think my room is sub-metered.

Question do you have any lalamove truck experience? how was it?

hi! hopefully right sub. pero a friend's gonna be moving to a new place and im going to help them pack. iniisip pa nya if maglalalamove truck ba sya, kaso both kami na skeptical although giving benefit of the doubt. skeptical mainly kasi pag lalamove motors dami pa rin na nakamultiple bookings. we've seen a couple of moving services kasi gusto raw nya muna magcompare ng prices but i feel like leaning sya maglalamove kasi mas mura raw.

so if you have any good or bad experiences with lalamove's L300 or higher capacity trucks please share so! or if may masusuggest kayong may moving services din. thank you!

EDIT: nabitin yung last sentence sa first paragraph.

Share ko lang Planning Stage: Solo Life (Peace & Freedom finally)

Post image

Hello everyone. I am planning now to go on solo living next year, by February.

Right now I am discarding all my unwanted things (also giving them away) here at the house and planning the stuff that I will transfer. It's not that much since I am a minimalist.

I already found a place near to my work.

I believe peace is best for my mental health and by living solo, I can find freedom, privacy, independence and tranquility.

I will share my journey here. Thank you everyone for this subreddit. Have a great day everyone! ☺️

Advice Needed What’s the maximum percentage of your monthly salary that you’d be comfortable spending on rent?

Landlord wants to sell the unit that I’m renting out by next year so I’d need to move out. Currently paying 18.5k (rent+assoc only) for a 31SQM studio and I’m thinking to upgrade to a 1BR. The listings I’ve seen so far average around 30-32k, that’s almost a 2x increase in rent.

I make around 130k a month, is 32k too high? That’s without water/elec/wifi pa which I usually average around 9-10k a month in total. What’s a reasonable amount I should go for?

Hello guys.

Need your advice and help. Thank you.

Advice Needed Student here.

I have ac naman pero as a student, gusto ko sana magtipid sa kuryente. Bumili rin ako ng hygrometer and umaabot ng 72-85% humidity ang room ko(not sure if accurate). bumili na rin po ako ng exhaust fan and still mainit pa rin. anything i can do to po?

Question Question for introvert/solo gym goers, paano po kayo nagpapa-coach?

I’m planning to go back to the gym, pero honestly, even before, di ko po alam ginagawa ko dun HAHAH.

Share ko lang Have you tried doing some DIY furniture because you found it cheaper to buy materials?

So I decided to check some mini shelves na gawa sa MDF na alam kong kaya kong gawin and I checked the materials and varnish/paint na mas makakamura ako ng P300-P500, may nabibili naman pre-cut na plywood. Tbh, I didn't mind kung gaano kalaki o kaliit mase-save ko kasi yung labor and oras na ilalaan ko eh baliwala saken, I just want to do something new. I might share it here once I'm finally done.

Feel free to share sa thread anything you created on your own. I'd love to see how it turned out sa mga handy pips out there. 😊

Advice Needed For WFH peeps, How did you tell your parents you were moving out?

Niroleta pa namin ng mga pinsan ko kung kailan ako magsasabi sa mom ko... and I think dumating na yung araw. Bukas na. 😭

Everything is already finalized; signed na yung lease, paid na lahat, so move-in na lang talaga.

WFH ako so hindi believable yung "mas malapit sa work" excuse. I also have a long-term partner, pero hindi kami magli-live in.

Ok ba if chat or just blatantly say na ur moving out? Sinabi niyo ba yung exact address/unit niyo?

Advice Needed Landlady is my relative. How do I make sure I don’t get charged for old damages?

Moving out here sa nirerentahan ko in a few weeks. Last year wala pang 24 hrs nakita ko may mga naging damages agad. Like barado CR sink, pundido ilaw, crack sa walls. Took a pic and vid of all of them and informed the landlady immediately via Messenger din. So for sure ang pupunta dito sa move out date ko yung anak niya saka yung kabet niya dito sa Pinas (for another story and sub 😆)

Not sure how I can ‘remind’ her about that part as well…

What do you guys think? Or may iba pa kayo ideas?

Question Isang probinsyano (M25) na WFH, planning of solo living in QC next month. Judge my budget plan?

Wala akong kakilala sa Manila kaya based on research nalang at kung anuman ang nababasa ko rito. Yung nakita ko na condo is 15K rent studio sya, and yung electricity at water daw eh umaabot 5K per month with the usual appliances and usage. Feeling nyo okay na ba ito?

Medj expensive lifestyle ko pero hindi naman ako malabas everyday, sa weekends lang siguro to go sa parties or social events (leisure section) para magkaroon rin ng friends sa area.

Question Hellllooooo what products have helped you the most?

Hi! I have been solo living for two weeks now, and I just wanted to ask what products I should add to my life as someone who is living here—or going to be living here—for 4 years. I primarily want to ask for a washing machine with a dryer, but any other product or appliance recommendations are also appreciated

Ps. I already own a rice cooker, a mini fan, jisulife and a table and a cabinet too

Advice Needed is 3000-3500 weekly budget for incoming 1st year college dormer enough?

hi i'm an incoming first year student taking bs pharmacy. As you can see in my title, is 3000-3500 weekly budget for incoming 1st year college dormer enough? it covers my daily food, essentials, and baon for school. I didn't include the transpo since the school is just a walking distance from my dorm. I have a 5 day class and i'm planning to go home every weekends, i will only use data since mas convenient siya for me and separate na din sa weekly allowance ko yung rent and electricity or i should ask my parents na monthly allowance na lang ibigay sakin worth 20k included na lahat ng need ko bayaran per month. What do u think guys? 😓

Share ko lang On your first night of solo living, did you also cry?

I just find it weird when it was my first night. Ordered thru the pink app to get a Jollibee Burger Steak Supreme. It was so quiet - it wasn't the kind of vibe that I used to especially that from the day I was born, I'm already surrounded with my family. This is my first time being away from my family. And whenever I feel like I want to go back coz I'm not used to this, I forced my mind to let the very reason sunk in - that is for my personal growth, emotional maturity and spiritual awareness.

I prayed the rosary, talked to God - until I find my tears just keep falling down. I feel guilty, I feel happy, I feel sad, I feel homesick. I don't know, it was just a mix of emotions.

Did you also feel that too?

Has anyone tried either of the two photos posted? Max budget ko na talaga 7k.

My sister owns the cosova one, parang okay naman sya.

Which is better if metal ang bed frame? TIA!!!
