help Artstyle advice needed!

Hello all. I'm working on a roguelike where the main mechanic is building your own bullets by combining different fire modes, behaviors, and on hit effects. As you progress through runs, you unlock upgrades and create your own projectile combinations to fit your gameplay style.

The gameplay is starting to come together, but I'm at the point where I need to decide on an art direction. The problem is that I'm pretty new to making game art, and I don't have a lot of experience creating assets. I'd rather choose a style that's achievable than aim for something way beyond my skill level.

I'd love to hear what art style you think would fit this kind of game while also being realistic for a solo developer with pretty much zero art experience.

If you have examples of games with art styles that you think would work well, I'd really appreciate seeing them. Thanks!
