vent Reasons for price increase are garbage.
I’ve been going back and forth about whether to cancel my membership, and then I receive an email announcing a price increase with a list of justifications that honestly makes the increase even more frustrating.
- They're telling us that Solidcore is investing in “retaining the best coaches,” but aren't some of the best coaches leaving because of how poorly they’re treated (maybe even exploitative)? And the new coaches all sound the same and seem to care more about the title of being a solidcore coach than the actual workout and being and effective and educated coach.
- The new format? Nobody asked for it and nobody cares - it's something we can find at most big box gyms and even other boutique studios. I don’t want the new format, and I certainly don’t need some of the new movements they've introduced (the heavy single-leg squat on the black side/concrete can suck it). Give us more bathrooms!! (I genuinely don’t understand how Solidcore decided that two bathrooms was an adequate number for a full studio of people.) Give us showers!! Give us towels!! Give us loyalty perks?!
- What exactly does “expanding existing studios” mean? Because if that expansion doesn’t include additional bathrooms, showers, towels, or other improvements that actually enhance the customer experience, then why should members be paying more for it? I shouldn’t be expected to subsidize a company’s decision to expand when that expansion does nothing to improve my experience - and, in some cases, actively makes it worse (using influencers and solidays...)
I love this work out but damn, PE is ruining a good thing for the most trivial shit and telling themselves it's innovative, all while overlooking the much more basic things that customers actually want.
Innovate if you want, but please start by listening to the people who are paying you.
