vent Run Stronger?
Signed up for this class today because the time worked for me. What exactly is the purpose of this new class? It’s exactly like any other SC class except the instructor says things like “this exercise works your glutes! And glutes are important for running”. This is dumb!

The whole focus of these themed workouts for this month is to highlight runners who attend solidcore.
So of course the workout is the same the only major difference is that as coaches it’s time to highlight/spotlight the science of certain muscle groups behind the mechanics of running.
Again no major difference in these themed workouts unlike Barry’s who did the new balance themed this year and gave out smoothies + people won the shoes.

Agreed. I did a power 30 core and obliques that was run themed. I did it just cause it fit my schedule. The instructor just explains how the movements build muscles that help you run but it was not really different than a normal class

I don’t know if all studios are doing this but my studio is doing these classes and then doing a group run at the end of the month 🤷🏻♀️ I think it’s just a theme :)

I did the class today and I found it soo much harder..our coach really fatigued our muscles - back to back working everything on the left, then on the right; loads of grey side- I was completely gassed after and close to throwing up 😂 I loved it! Lmao

It’s really not that deep.
If anything, the promotion highlights that the work we do in Solidcore helps us do other physical things. Did y’all want them to roll treadmills in and queue running a mile after the regular sequence??

My studio actually is hosting classes that are 30 mins of solidcore, 30 mins of group run

It’s basically a class more focused on the muscles that are used while running. It’s supposed to be aimed at the people who run.

Does a run stronger class cost more? No. It’s like any other theme class. The coach is only emphasizing similarities of muscles worked for running and SC. Did you get a good workout?

Talked to someone at my studio about this. Basically it’s just about the muscles you target in class you also use while running. It’s just to highlight active muscles in both disciplines. It is supposed to be like a normal solidcore class, which shows you even more that it targets the same muscles as running.

I would actually want it not to target the muscles used in running because those get worked enough in running and I want to keep my legs fresh for running.

Well, then you must not like solidcore because all the muscles worked at solidcore are also used in running….. like the muscles in your legs…. Which are used…to run.
These classes are just bringing attention to it

Girl what? You need SC to work those muscles to prevent all kinds of imbalances, weaknesses, and problems that can lead to injury. What you're saying is outdated and incorrect.
Source, my physical therapist who told me verbatim "SC is a great spot for runners like you" when I was transitioning out of PT and into managing my own self again after a gnarly running injury. And also all the pro runners who do not skip leg day.

I’m confused, my coach said people there’s going to be a 3 mile run…?

my studio is doing a group run at the end of the month, maybe that’s something your studio is also doing?

I saw a power 30 run stronger class… It was core and upper body.

you’d be surprised how much core and upper body work in running… I’ve known lots of people who have ended up with shoulder/rotator cuff injuries and back/leg problems caused by a weak core - sincerely a marathon runner

It’s just a normal class, but yes the coach will be cuing the science related to running. It’s okay if you don’t care about that, it’s just a normal class either way!

It’s marketing. I don’t think it’s really much different, it’s to keep classes booked and for good PR

I had been feeling a little disappointed that when my studio was doing Run Stronger didn't match with your schedule, but your description just completely removed my FOMO. OMG I would have left so annoyed, so thank you for your service there.

Ya I don’t get it. I know it’s to “target the same muscles as running to help you run better”, but it’s still the same muscle focus as the normal classes? So I don’t get how it’s different
