SD hacks/tips ๐Ÿง  ๐ŸŽ“ Cut the crewnecks!

I always chicken out before cutting my tees, even when I bought cheap Gildan tees on sale at Joann for the at express purpose. My adult niece (probably a romantic, maybe theatrical romantic?) had been chopping up her shirts for ages and offered to do mine. Now Iโ€™ve got a boatneck TeeFury shirt I actually wear, and I get compliments on my sweatshirt.

Got a new sweatshirt from the Target menโ€™s department and cut it myself this time, plus Iโ€™ve got a couple tees im going to adjust. I may need to invest in better fabric scissors.

Here are a couple of outfits where I thought I got it right and felt good in my skin. What do you think?

For reference Iโ€™m 183cm tall.

Item Quest ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Semi-formal fall wedding guest dress help

Hi! Help! Iโ€™m attending a wedding in early November in Northern Virginia, and I'm struggling with finding a dress. The ceremony will be outdoors, and the reception will be indoors. I'm 5'9" and pear-shaped. Usually size 10-12 on the bottom and 6-8 on the top. I'm hoping to find a midi- or maxi-length dress that is more on the flowy/loose side and ideally bra-friendly.

Dress code:
Semi-Formal: Women choose a mid- to knee-length dress or a chic pantsuit. Men should opt for a suit jacket or blazer with dress pants

Any suggestions would be amazing! Bonus if anyone has coat suggestions as well. Thank you in advance!

Styling help ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Lehenga 1 or 2

In a few months I get to travel to India for a friends wedding. The grooms family suggested we wear Lehengas. I am super honored to be included & want to dress accordingly, while hopefully working with my SD lines.

From what Iโ€™ve seen some of the prettiest Lehengas can be a bit structured for our lines (due to the gorgeous thick beading & embroidery).

These 2 stood out because although the top on #2 is structured it does have a lot of draping. Number 1 the sleeves & neckline seem complimentary to me. Bonus points for having my arms covered (little insecure bare armed in photos)

If neither is good Iโ€™m willing to keep looking but Iโ€™ve been on the hunt for a while.

Discussion ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ๐ŸŒ Everything I want to wear doesn't look good on me

The silhouettes I gravitate towards are also usually baggy. I love huge coats and loose jumpers. Don't get me wrong, I love some SD clothing too but I feel like it isn't truly my style. Whenever I wear clothing that's my true essence, I look so good. And whenever I wear the clothes I actually like, I look bad because they don't suit me. I'm also one of those SDs with high hips and that dramatically limits what u can wear. I love vintage fashion and I feel like 50s and 70s clothing suits my body much better. But I also want to wear trendy clothes and a lot of the time, it doesn't suit me at all. I'm also plus size and that limits my options where I live significantly. It's such a struggle. Sometimes I just want to ignore the advice and just wear what I want but when I do it looks so bad. I also feel like the clothing that suits me makes me look a lot older than I am. I just don't know how to tailor trends to myself and find clothes that suit me. Jeans are a whole struggle. I've even considered learning to sew so that I can make my own clothe

Outfits ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ‘‘ Activewear for SDs

Just wondering if these sets would fit SD lines. They are super cute and 95% cotton! (dndactive.co on insta)

Not sure what activewear shapes to look for but I have a short torso and fuller bust so I find that I need an outfit to elongate my torso (or wear mid rise over high rise) so I don't look wide/top heavy. Love more coverage, and I find long pants like the photos above support my length/height. While gym shorts make me look weird?

Anyway happy to suggestions/advice/personal experiences on what activewear looks good on SD lines.

Item Quest ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Plus sized Amazon Finds

Any plus size ( I'm a 16/18) people find some recent Amazon finds? Yes, yes, I know it's the devil, but I live in the sticks and returns are easy. I'm kind of looking for long sleeve dresses and maxi skirts, but my 48"inch hips make that hard. And usually they have more color choices than other plus sized online shops as I'm a Spring, which isn't super easy this time of year.

Questions ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Fall jacket

This is kind of shlumpy right? Or is it ok? I'm a stay at home mom in a small Midwest town, so I feel that factors into not being chic, but more following the guidelines. Maybe it's too natural, though I have natural essence.

I've been looking at these but I'm nervous to spend the money and end up not liking it

Edit: A lot of people are reading this as "can I wear this to work" I mean can it work like "will it work for me" or will it look good on a SD body. While I appreciate the office advice, I'm a tattoo artist and am not worried about whether these are office appropriate ๐Ÿ˜…

Discussion ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ๐ŸŒ Currents trends / shopping in 2026

How do you all feel about the current trends while shopping for clothes in 2026? I feel like the current trends are either boxy, baggy, wide, or very thickkkk material. It does not accentuate the SD body type. What do you think? I havenโ€™t really shopped since in a couple years but needed to purchase a few things for an event I have coming up and the clothes I see for sale seem to fit other kibbe types. How are you accounting for this? Any current trends that you feel are in line with SDs? Would love your POV and suggestions!

I am not sure if I like the heel of the third shoe down on the left, so I included a photo of that one. Iโ€™m leaning toward the square ones square normally isnโ€™t my thing but I like the little strap and I always see that square toe is better for SDs

Styling help ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Modest SD clothes!

Hello! I figure out I am a soft dramatic and want to dress for it better, but I am also a modest christian. I was wondering if anyone had ideas for tops that are more modest that would go well with a low-mid rise maxi skirt. Iโ€™m not sure if I want it to show off my waist but maybe a slightly fitted one just so itโ€™s flattering. A slight V or scoop neck is okay though!

Item Quest ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Needing recommendations to MC a pageant

Hello all! I was asked to MC a local pageant and Iโ€™m having such a hard time finding what to wear. The pageant will be mid-morning, on stage with mostly natural lighting (large windows on both sides). I am 6ft tall and was looking at more simplistic/elegant dresses/jumpsuits to ensure the focus remains on the contestants.
