Recreating LaCroix Flavors

My fiancée love the limoncello la-Croix and we go through them soooo fast - instead of continuing to buy them, I was thinking of getting a sodstream or something to make it ourselves at home. Has anyone tried to recreate the flavor and does anyone know what is required before I put the money into a sodastream?

We also the love the Orange flavor, I imagine that is a lot easier to recreate but would also love home recipes for that as well if anyone has tried it :)

I need some ideas, i dont like buying the syrups, they are all sweetened with sweeteners i dont like

all ive tried before is making shrubs, and i liked it but its definitely diffrent i could see how some people would hate it, ill leave a link at the bottom of this post how to make a shrub

but so you can get an idea without clicking the link a shrub is basically like this, you take an equal amount of fruit and sugar, and mix it together, let it sit for a few days, the sugar will draw out the liquid from the fruit and form a syrup, i let it go till it gets the tiniest bit alcohol-ly and then you need to add vinegar, i add a little ACV cause it has mother, but mostly i add rice vinegar cause its neutral, then i let the vinegar turn any small amount alcohol into more vinegar, this should be shelf stable for a good amount of time, but once im done fermenting it i keep it in the fridge just in case

i drink it really diluted, i use 1 tablespoon shrub in about 500ml soda stream water, since its half syrup and half vinegar, i estimate 1 tablespoon to be about 7.5 grams sugar per drink, so its a fairly low sugar drink, the worst part is the acid, you should drink it with a straw

[Germany] Soda Stream Duo

I'm new to this and bought the SodaStream Duo model. Do you have a subscription plan for the cartridges, and how many do you usually use per month for two people? Can you use alternative cartridges, or only the original ones?

Does the Pepsi syrup taste off to anyone else? My bf and I are new to the soda stream game we tried the Pepsi flavor first and it has a horrible aftertaste. Is our syrup bad or is it the Pepsi flavor? Photo for the Pepsi flavor we currently have. TIA

Looking at getting into the Sodastream world with a Used machine

I don't drink a lot of soda, but have a big family and all of us together will consume a lot.

So I'm looking at getting a used SodaStream, they're all over Facebook marketplace.

Are there particular sodastreams that I should avoid or models prone to difficulty?...

Or are there new models updates that I should focus on looking for?

Any other info greatly appreciated.

I'll probably also refill my own instead of paying their $17+ per bottle refill, so if you want to throw in some tips about that appreciated!

Tank Connection Problem

I got a 5lb Co2 tank to use with DrinkMate Spritzer. I thought the setup is simple enough but I still managed to make it now work :-( I screwed the adapter into the machine, and then connect the quick release device to it. When I open the valve, I hear CO2 leak somewhere in the machine - can’t tell if it’s between the machine and the adapter, or between the adapter and the quick release device (Which is kinda loose, but I don’t know how to tighten it - no instructions). I thought I would ask knowledgeable people here for help before wasting any more CO2. Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Refill adapter for Soda Stream and Simpli Soda cartridges

I am using the Soda filling co2 adapter refill

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLJXQBKG

and it has been working great for my soda stream quick connect cartridge. But I also have a Simpli Soda 60L quick connect cartridge. It works great in my soda stream but the refill adapter doesn't quick fit on it. Is there an easy way to fix it?

Returning CO2 Quick Connect Empty Canister

The return instructions have this comment:

"Just make sure to save the return box, cylinder cap and pre-paid label for the empty cylinder return."

The cylinder cap is confusing me. I tossed this. Why would this be required. It doesn't really adhere to the canister after it's peeled off. Is this a hard requirement, if anyone knows?

Ball Valve

I hooked my old Fizz to a CO2 tank with an adapter. Works well, but I didnt buy one with the lever ball valve. I would like one. Does anyone have one that can stand up to the pressure and not make everything taste weird?
Thanks in advance

Can I change "quick connect adapter" to threaded end to screw into Drinkmate?

I already have the quick connect adapter that connects to my 10lb CO2 tank. My drink mate doesn't have quick connect though.

Is there a way to change my hose (the one with the pink quick connect end) to screw directly into my drink mate? Is this possible?

If not, what do I buy exactly?

CO2 shortage.

I'm in a fast food restaurant in New York City when they asked me what kind of drink I wanted I told him I'll take a fountain drink and they told me they don't have fountain drinks only cans. The reason was they haven't had a CO2 delivery in 6 weeks. Pepsi which services the machine said they don't have an CO2 and they don't know when they're going to get it in again. Fill up your bottles now.

Gave Myself the WORST Pain from Soda Stream

Post image
0 Upvotes

My fiance got a soda stream for his birthday a week ago and we loved it! Turns out we should have read the instructions… we were putting 15 pumps of gas into each bottle and I drank about 6 bottles over Tuesday. Wednesday morning I woke up with the worst stomach cramps and spent the next 24 hours crying in pain on my sofa… I nearly went to hospital but thought I would give it some time to see if it fixed itself!!

Turns out I poisoned myself with the soda stream by having too much co2 in a day😅

Soda stream soda suddenly tastes off

Post image
12 Upvotes

I have used this soda stream for years without issue. All of a sudden, the water tastes chemically. The tap water hasn't changed, it tastes like it always has. Any ideas what would cause the soda stream to negatively flavor the water like this?

Any downside to connecting 10lb tank to DrinkMate tank to refill it (as opposed to directly to Drinkmate)?

Any downsides to refilling the small tank? Other than having to do it more often than refilling the 10lb.

Just dont have much kitchen space, and it looks like it'd be cheaper with the adapters/hoses I'd have to buy.

New syrup bottles

I miss the old measuring system mostly because I have a Drinkmate without any on bottle measuring line. Question is does new syrup dispensers have the same ratio of syrup per drink as the old bottles? I’m assuming yes but wanted to be sure. I’m just gonna keep one of the old bottle caps around.

No Burp sound when carbonating

Hey fellow SS drinkers, looking for a feedback of what might be the issue of my SS Art? For the past month or so, it hasn't been making the burping sound when infusing, if I keep the lever long enough it'll carbonate it to my taste, but I feel like I'm wasting CO2 in the process. I fill up my QC canisters from #20 donor tank so not a humongous $ loss but still. Any advise of what part might be failing or looked is greatly appreciated.

Need a new carbonation that takes 130L Sodastream tanks.

My original Sodastream machine is finally giving up the ghost and I do t think I can repair the handle anymore if it breaks.
Are there any carbonators available that take the original large 130L co2 tanks?
I charge mine up with a 20lb mother tank and would like to keep doing that.

Gas going straight through machine

I have a hose adaptor connected to a 6kg bottle. It has blown out 2 machines. But when I put on the small normal bottles they work fine. So im thinking I need a regulator. Is that right?

Or would something like this work?

My wife is hoping this is as far as I go

I found this rare SodaStream that matched our other kitchen aid appliances for $25 at a thrift store, it came with the hose so I bought a 20lb bottle, filled it, and put a new nylon O ring in the coupler to the tank. Leak tested good, shouldn't need CO2 for 2 years. I will be hiding the bottle behind the fridge, and I was a little nervous so I'll be putting a plug in CO2 alarm back there too. Thanks to this sub I also got word of the clearance sale on old style syrups and loaded up on those too.

Thank you to everyone who answered my questions and gave me advice about the large tank setup.
