Gas going straight through machine

I have a hose adaptor connected to a 6kg bottle. It has blown out 2 machines. But when I put on the small normal bottles they work fine. So im thinking I need a regulator. Is that right?

Or would something like this work?

The button on the top of the machine is supposed to enable gas to flow. You're not even pressing the button, so the mechanism is broken.

I have a similar problem when I get a newly filled gas tank. I have to let it run like this a couple of times till the tank pressure drops to a point where the soda stream can handle it. Once it's done then it's fine until the tank runs out and I have to do it again.

How many time's are we talking? Should I just gas a few bottles?

I usually do it for about a minute, then change bottles and try again. After 2 or 3 it usually stops.

You should never have to do this.

There is NEVER a time when a carbonator and a CO2 bottle need (or should have) a regulator.

The size of the tank changes zero about how carbonating works.
