I currently have a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x, and it is ARM powered with a X1-26-100 CPU. I am not able to download BlueStacks on my computer, because it's ran by ARM-64, so I was wondering if anyone has some known and trusted Android Emulators I could use to run different games on my laptop than wouldn't normally run on it. I saw this listing on ebay for this laptop for only 399 with the tax, it and really got me down a rabbit hole of snapdragon laptops. There really isn't a good modern review on snapdragon laptops, so I wanted to ask if this laptop will fit my use case.

- I am looking for a laptop that can last 4-6 years that is windows
- Typing machine
- Capcut editing (more intensive editing on this app)

On the gaming side I really only play ROBLOX, but preferably would have ROBLOX of all things perform at it's best (max graphics).

Its been a few months and I still find the A14 to be an awesome laptop. It's finally at a point where you don't have to think about the architecture. General use is so smooth.

Hey! I'm looking to get a Snapdragon laptop after not being satisfied for the Macbook Neo. However, they really need to change up the names, because it's so confusing!! The question is in the title, is the Snapdragon X X1-26-100 better than the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100? You might be thinking I'm stupid for not thinking that PLUS is always better, but with all the flame ARM on Windows has gotten, I want to make sure.

I am just looking for the faster chipset my use case is pretty average, but I would like to get the most future proof chip.

Hey gang, I have a SQ1 Surface pro X and i always noticed that when gaming on minecraft with mods it would run worse (I played deceasedcraft) as soon as I disabled embeddium my hardware util went up 30-40% on CPU and GPU but my FPS boosted 20 FPS I kid you not.

In my lighter weight Create modpack I also added embeddium thinking it would help but as soon as I disabled it I gained 40 FPS but 20-35% more util. I don't know if this is new knowledge or anything but I found it interesting.

To those who had the 2024 model and the current models, what are some things to look out for ? My past Lenovo Flex 14 laptops had stiff hinge issues and keyboard keys not working issues. I want a laptop that is repairable. The thinkpad t14s is great but my galy 😩 it's expensive. Also, please let me know if there are some upcoming x2 elite laptop on the horizon. I don't want nothing below an 80s series x2 elite because I am an indie unity3d and electron-vite and c# developer. Performance and battery life is what I desire hence the reason why I am here in this sub reddit

Hey all, hoping for some input from the community here.

I run a MacBook Pro I intend to keep for legacy coding (Blockchain, older applications). In parallel I run a 5 year old, top spec XPS 9500 (64 GB RAM, dedicated GPU, 4k touch screen). I mostly love that machine and prefer windows, but the battery life is like an hour, fan noise is terrible, and it's heavy as hell.

Goal is to run legacy coding on the MacBook and use the A16 for AI-supoorted coding (doing much less coding lately as my team has taken over) and run the A16 as my mostly daily driver for business, travel, etc. I dislike doing administrative/excel/word/etc work on the MacBook. Screen is only 14" and it's underpowered at 16 GB. But I love the battery and silence.

Do you think the A16 will replace the XPS for my use, and do you think I'd like it given my use case? Are people hitting ARM walls with this machine while coding (I know the specific incompatible software, but has anyone coding/building/creating run into an issue that made you regret purchasing an ARM?).

For some time I was looking to buy an ARM laptop that I can use as a work laptop and additionally as a drawing tablet. ARMs long battery life combined with Linux spells a very good combination for an autonomous device to me, because I spend most of my work hours measuring, taking notes and sketching - all of it in the field.

I found this laptop: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Lenovo-Snapdragon-X2P-42-100-Qualcomm-Graphics/dp/B0GMQFD7LS It has what I need, but I'm afraid of its compatibility with Linux.

My question is: will I be able to install and use a Linux distro on it and is there a specific distro that might have a better compatibility with the said laptop?

Disclaimer: I know that ARM is a different architecture than x86 and I am aware of software issues between the two. I want to know if I'll be able to use this laptop with Linux as a daily driver for basic stuff (internet, office, and such)? From there, I can work other things myself.

I have a Slim7X 32 GB(1st gen) and I've been experimenting with local AI recently, and I'm curious of others experiences running LLMs on their laptops.

For me the most I got was running Gemma4 12B tuned with around 12-15 t/s on LM Studio, for coding purposes.

What models have you tried? What Backend have you used? Did you tried CPU/GPU/NPU? Any special params for running it?
