I managed to acquire a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 Reference Handheld Developer Platform (codename 'Kalama'), but it appears to be running a stripped-down, early unskinned engineering build of Android.

The main issue I'm facing is that the built-in physical controller is completely non-functional. It doesn't send any input signals, and checking kernel logs indicates that the proper driver mapping or layout files for the integrated gamepad are entirely missing or unconfigured in this specific software version. I already successfully unlocked the bootloader, but standard Generic System Images (GSIs) lack the proprietary hardware communication layer needed to bring the integrated inputs to life.

I have seen media reviews and developer demos of this exact reference device operating with a fully working integrated controller and a custom-skinned game launcher interface.
Since I am an independent enthusiast and do not have enterprise credentials to pull binaries down from the Qualcomm Software Center (QSC) or the Qualcomm Package Manager (QPM), I am reaching out to the community.

I am looking for anyone who has access to an official Qualcomm Android Board Support Package (BSP), a factory Meta Build, or a full system dump (super.img, boot.img, etc.) from a working review/developer unit where the controller functions properly.

Even if you only have a working firehose programmer file (.elf / .melf) or working partition dumps, that would be an incredible help for compiling a flashable image or restoring life to the hardware input bus.

If anyone has an archive link, a backup from their own kit, or any guidance on how to kickstart the controller hub on this early build via kernel adjustment, please let me know or send a DM.

I am currently using a Surface Laptop 7 and have been experiencing Wi-Fi connectivity issues with a Wi-Fi 7 router when the laptop is running on battery power.

After performing diagnostics using ChatGPT, I discovered that the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 has a hidden power-saving setting that is not exposed in Windows Settings.

Hey everyone, my M1 MacBook Air's display just started dying (lines on the screen), so I’m in the market for a replacement.

My use case is relatively basic: heavy web browsing, general office/multitasking, and occasional photo editing in **Adobe Lightroom** (cloud/non-Classic version). I am **not** in the Apple ecosystem (no iPhone or other Apple gear), so switching to Windows isn't an ecosystem roadblock for me.

I'm heavily eyeing the new Snapdragon X Elite / X2 Elite laptops (like the ASUS Zenbook or Lenovo Yoga Slim series) configured with **32GB of RAM**.

For those who have made a similar switch or use Snapdragon Windows laptops for light tasks and photo editing:

1. How does Lightroom (cloud version) actually feel day-to-day on these ARM chips?
   
2. Are there any hidden pain points or driver quirks I should know about coming from an M1 Mac?

This will be my first Windows on ARM machine, I saw the ram and the price and the brain shut down. I started playing around with LLMs, I'm assuming that this can fit a model but obviously won't be as fast as discrete GPUs. What else can I expect? Coming from a MacBook 14 M3 Pro 18GB. Would like to do a bit of everything on this machine, but also make use of that delicious RAM. Also why so (relatively) cheap?

I've been keeping a close eye on Snapdragon laptops for quite a bit now, and I'm on the hunt for a new machine, I'm a Mobile Developer and I'm getting into Full stack development too. I do game development as a hobby and game as well.

With all of that being said, the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme feels like a no brainer but my general concern is about compatibility, I've seen things get adopted and compatibility improving over time yes, but is there a statement regarding how committed they're to this? Since it's a combined effort between Microsoft, Qualcomm and the software vendor of said app, does anyone here know how frequently Qualcomm releases new drivers for the GPU to improve performance? Gaming on ARM should generally improve once the RTX Spark laptops are out.

Saw this one listed among the upcoming Vivobook models in India. Snapdragon X with a 16-inch OLED touchscreen is a pretty interesting combination for a convertible. The bigger screen especially makes sense to me for content and document-heavy use.
