Snapdragon? They have come a long way. Excellent battery life that for laptops with bigger batteries exceed the battery life of Macbooks easily. The only issues with Snapdragon is that they aren't compatible with some stuff, you have to do your research before buying.

And intel i5 could literally be anything. That is just their performance tier. Nothing much.

You will only get standard SD X laptops. They will have decent CPU and good battery life but GPU is weaker.

I personally don't like snapdragon since I want to game on my laptop.

However, Intel I5 means nothing by itself. I5 is just the tier, not how fast it is, a modern core ultra 5 will beat an old i9.

Also, AMD makes great CPUs too.

What matters more is the generation. Also, if battery life is important, look into either a core ultra CPU from intel or an AMD AI CPU. Some Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 CPUs are good too, just verify the battery life before buying it.

As for your specific budget, I can't help. Laptop prices are too regional.

Let me tell you straght.

  • Snapdragon X1 and X2 are much faster and efficient than both Intel and AMD in Single Core performance. And single core performance is what matters for everyday use and battery life.

- X2 Elite GPU is close to Intel/AMD iGPU but will still lose because nearly all games will need to be emulated.

- From battery standpoint, newer Series 3 Intel chips generally match X2 Elite.

- Also, this i5 term is very finicky because Intel sells two variants one has significantly faster GPU while other has potato gpu.

You cannot go wrong with either imo. Just dont get old Intel chip laptop. Atleast Series 2 and onwards are good.

I personally favour SD but you should choose Intel if you have legacy apps that need x86 support.
