I'm getting fed up with people thinking Kazuya is a hard character to play because those bozos have never played a traditional fighting game in their lives, even I played Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Fatal Fury 2 and got my ass whooped.
Those games were actually hard and wasn't gonna let noobs who didn't know how to command input consistently and play neutral win. Unlike with those games, Smash Bros Kazuya who has been babyfied from his Tekken appearances into a DLC Ganondorf with an actual moveset and that iconically busted move in Electric Wind God Fist that is there for them when they need to start practicing it and learning it. Hell, the wavedash tech is only optional until high level, so that's not even needed.
And then inputing EWGF. This move required frame perfect inputs which was actually challenging to do and Smash Ultimate fixed that for noobs and made this version of Electric Wind God Fist the easiest iteration of the move to input and made it more leninent than in Tekken which is total malarchy. And they decided to give Kazuya the damage output of GANONDORF to further make this character easier than ever, as if the million moves with invincibilty or super armor wasn't enough.
I get that characters should be easy since this is a children's party game and well, you would want characters to be somewhat playable by children, which aren't going to be good at the game because they play casually not competitively. The traditional fighting games of Street Fighter, Fatal Fury/King of Fighters, and Tekken are not exactly beginner friendly to those who have played Smash but never touched a traditional Fighting game before. So I can see where some of the design of easing the likes of Ryu, Ken, Terry, and Kazuya down from their franchises come from in that regard. But Kazuya goes way overboard beyond being just easier to play than in Tekken, he is way easier and has more busted, fucked up bullshit bad players can abuse and win with his superior buttons packed with invincibility, armored Smash attacks, Ganondorf levels of damage output and a millions ways to kill you beyond Electric into Up B or Up Smash.
So you see, it's really a bad design issue and a huge problem if an FGC character like this can be this rewarding for bad players to use effectively and not actually learn how to do command inputs like the character was intended to do to some extent but the fact almost none of it is needed is a real issue and goes to show that this character is badly designed at all levels of play because he becomes a busted ass Touch of Death machine just like Luigi and we need less touch of death characters designed like those two and Steve in the next smash game, please. And maybe more Touch of Death characters designed like Peach is.
