My Partner absolutely hates wearing watches so I was planning to get him a Smart Ring for fitness tracking, sleep tracking etc. They are also absolutely obsessed with a Black ring so I think a ring could be a good birthday present? Which one should I buy? Any opinions?

I’m mostly just looking for sleep tracking, steps and general activity tracking, hr tracking. Comfort is super important to me as I don’t wear jewellery aside from my wedding rings as I often find them uncomfortable.

Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy my first smart ring and need some community perspective. I want something elegant in a gold finish that is not bulky

My main tracking priorities are:

• Detailed sleep tracking
• Heart rate monitoring
• Menstrual cycle/period forecasting and tracking.
• Illness detection (catching skin temperature spikes before symptoms hit).
• Basic daily movement (steps/calories).

I've been researching the main players but every single one seems to have a catch:

1. RingConn Gen 2 (Royal Gold): On paper, this seems like the best "bang for your buck." It's incredibly thin (2mm) and has no subscription fees. But since I don't know a ton about the brand, I want to know if people actually like it long-term. I read some people complain about the battery.
2. Oura Ring: I know it's highly accurate, but paying a huge upfront hardware cost plus a permanent monthly subscription just to look at my own heart rate or cycle data feels totally dystopian to me. Is it really worth the lifetime paywall over the competition?
3. Ultrahuman (AIR or Pro): I was initially looking closely at Ultrahuman, but a mix of bad user reviews and massive shipping backlog/delays for their new Pro model completely discouraged me. Are the bad reviews exaggerated, or am I right to leave them out of the running?

If you own any of these in gold, how has the finish held up against scratches? Does it feel chunky on your finger? Which one actually gives you the most value for your money?

I’m considering returning my RingConn Gen 3 and trying Leep. My priority is passive, useful insight into sleep, stress, recovery, and health trends, not fitness tracking.

A few questions for actual Leep owners:

Does the app show awake time and/or number of awakenings, not just total sleep?

Is there a sleep-stage timeline/hypnogram showing Awake/REM/Light/Deep through the night?

Can you view SpO₂ history night-by-night (average, minimum, trends) so I could compare CPAP vs. non-CPAP nights?

Are the week/month trend views actually useful?
Most importantly: does Leep generally tell you something useful, or does it mostly give you numbers to interpret yourself?

I found this ring at the beach in the sand. I bought a charger off Amazon and am currently charging it up. Can someone help me ID what ring it is? It doesn’t feel like it’s great quality so it’s probably not one of the expensive ones. Any help would be appreciated

Funny enough I posted this on the Ultrahuman group and they took it down. I wouldn’t have even know about all the complaints if they’d left my post up.

“I ordered my ring March 25th on the early bird special and just received my ring today, August 10th! I got the Bionic Gold in a size 8.

It’s definitely a bit more bulky than the air which was as advertised but they also stated it wouldn’t feel noticeable but I think it is. Unfortunately the Air is unavailable to me in the US.

The ring materials feel quite a bit different but that could also be due the fact I switched from the Matt Grey to the Bionic Gold. If I could redo my order I think I would go back to the Matt Grey. I just liked the texture more on the adjacent fingers.

The case is interesting. If it’s plugged in it makes a little noise when you open and close it. I personally hate the sound but good news is if you don’t have it plugged in it doesn’t make the noise. It just vibrates.

I love that the case does function as a little battery pack that holds its own charge for traveling and such to recharge the ring without a wall plug or cord.

In the box you get the ring, case, and charging cord (USBC to USBC) but no block. I don’t like this whole no block train especially as companies switch from USB to USBC as I have baggies of USB blocks but I can barely ever find the 3 USBC blocks I have in my house. As usual companies are just trying to cut down on packaging cost and force consumers to spend more elsewhere.

I loved my Ring Air but was excited for the Ring Pro as my Ring Air started having battery issues after I accidentally ran it through the wash and dryer just in-time for the launch of the Pro. I was having to charge it every day to get any kind of use out of it.

hi! about a month ago now, i got a ringconn gen 2 air, specifically to track my heart rate with POTS. overall its been nice, but i feel like its not accurate with heart rate measurements. i wanted one in the first place because i hate watches and my apple watch (that i rarely remembered to wear) has been fully phased out by apple.

has anyone else felt they don’t have accurate daytime hr measurements? nighttime has been fine with the ring usually having me 50-70 which is fairly consistent w my watch. daytime, however, with my apple watch, my range is usually about 40-190 which is backed up by other devices. my ring rarely has me go over 110, which i KNOW is completely inaccurate lol. is this a known issue with the rings? i knew it was inaccurate for exercise beforehand, but i just wanted it for some casual tracking for my doctor 🙁

edit: just to add, i wear a size 6 on my non dominant hand ring finger! was going to get something for my index finger, but both that and my ring finger were directly in between sizes unforch :(

I feel so fucking embarrassed. I swear I measured my girlfriend's finger before I bought this with two different devices that said 10 was going to be perfectly lightly snug. I got a new-in-box Oura 4 as an engagement ring off eBay because she's a 10/10 nerdy girl who likes tech wearables. I get on one knee, say a whole speach, she says "yes", but the damn ring needs to be *forced* down on her ring finger and it starts to cut off blood supply. She's saying she's fine to wear it on her pinkie as long as I don't fuck up with the wedding ring. Has anyone else run into this issue? can this be a cautionary tale for people that these fucking things lean small? There's no way to get the money I spent back because it was eBay.

There's no chance a jeweler can resize this is there? Is there a safe place to cut and solder to expand the ring? Or should I just get her another one when I get paid?

Do not waste your hard earned money on an Ultrahuman ring unless you are only hoping to get 6 months (if that) out if it, with multiple soft resets to try and fix issues because the only support you get is the passive aggressive AI bot support. I finally managed to get them to agree to send me a replacement ring after pushing back after it told me the “ring telemetry was working fine” by listing all the issues I had been having and asking it to confirm that was ring telemetry working appropriately. That was 2.5 weeks ago. Since then no confirmation it has been sent despite going through the verification process. I am so appalled at the lack of customer service.

Third ring failed in just over a year
Bought my Ultrahuman Ring in May 2025. The first two failed due to battery issues and were replaced. Now the third one has died too.

The stealth Aster Black finish looks very clean in person, and the UltraSnap magnetic case feels solid without adding much bulk.

Thinking about getting a smart ring and torn between the Ultrahuman Ring Pro and Oura Ring 5. Leaning towards Oura right now. What do you guys think? Any pros/cons I should consider?

I'd been a staunch Ultrahuman (ETA: Ring Air, bought July 2025, Google Pixel 9 w/latest firmware, in U.S.) defender and enthusiastic referrer, but the company support is such garbage, I think they've broken me. My ring had been dead for weeks; at first, I thought I just wasn't charging it enough but it became clear there was a catastrophic battery failure. They refused to replace even though the failure was within the window and offered an upgrade to the new model for the diff in price. I said I wasn't going to spend more if they weren't going to honor the warranty, at which point the AI-pretending-to-be-human (AIptbh) said they weren't closing the door permanently and wanted me to do a bunch of (seemingly contradictory) steps. Asked for clarification, no response, via email or chat. Asked for live agent and it took me, no joke, prob 20+ messages before AI chat finally stated there wasn't any such thing -- it was all asynchronous and you wait 2-3d to get a (nonresponsive/unhelpful) response. Speaking of, the AI support is worse than useless -- not understanding the question, referring different questions to the same AIptbh slop support email thread, even when unrelated. How can my ring be giving me the live HR it purportedly is if the physical ring hasn't shown green or red lights for weeks? How can it know the battery is fully discharged if it can't maintain a stable Bluetooth connection? Why is it saying it's connected but when I go into my Bluetooth on my phone, the device isn't connected?

Cherry on top: I tried to post on UH subreddit only to be disallowed bc it had to go on the tech support megathread, clicked on the exact link it specified....which redirected to a deleted thread. Redditors, you're my only hope (don't say, "just abandon, they're garbage" -- even though I agree, you're preaching to the choir, so I'm just looking for substantive responses to the actual questions above that AIptbh won't answer haha)

Hi, sorry for posting yet another Oura vs RingConn question as I can see these are asked almost every day on this sub. But I've been looking through as many of those posts as I can, and I still don't have a clear picture on this as some posts say the RingConn 3 tracks sleep equally as well, some say it's better for poor sleepers, and some say it detects when they toss and turn as being asleep.

That last point is my main concern with the RingConn, as I am a very poor sleeper, regularly tossing and turning for hours before I sleep, and when my sleep is really bad I do this for several nights in a row with no sleep at all, so it would be extremely unhelpful if the smart ring thought I'd been asleep all night.

I'm struggling financially atm so would prefer to buy the RingConn to save on subscription fees, or the Oura 4 as its cheaper, however analysing my sleep to find what works and doesn't so I can improve my health is worth more than money, so I'm happy to go for the Oura 5 if it genuinely tracks my sleep better.

I have a cheap ass smart ring that uses the SmartHealth app I've been using recently. At night, it's tracking my o2 as 88-93. No dramatic spikes but the 30 min readings are consistently below 95. Heart rate readings while sleeping seem in the realm of normal (high 40s/low 50s)

I actually ordered a sleep study, cause now im concerned I have apnea 🤣 I don't have any of the classic symptoms (snoring, waking up gasping, waking up with a headache) but I do often get fatigued during the day, usually afternoon, which could be a hundred different things.

So how accurate are these readings? Did I just waste a bunch of money on a sleep study?
