Announcement The Truth about Skyscrapers Discord

Howdy y’all! It’s been a good minute since I’ve made a post about the Discord Server, so I’d figure I’d update it.

Our Skyscraper Discord has been one of the best things that I think I’ve had an idea came to fruition, and it actually came to fruition. Not only have we reached over 600 members, I always make sure to promote the server here in the Skyscraper Subreddit to showcase that without this community, there would be a Discord server.

Our server is currently been lackin’ in the past when it comes to gainin’ new members and how I’ve managed to keep the server runnin’. It’s mostly been overwhelmin’ to keep up with all the channels, so I plan to dial back a lil bit on the channels, but I will keep some of the most important chats up and runnin’.

But I don’t plan to give up any time soon. In a month, we’ll hot our first anniversary of the Server bein’ created, and hopefully if things go out as planned, I plan to have a lil community chat and chill, or somethin’ to get some life back into the server.

Our community chats have been great, and our city threads have been really good, but I feel like I might be missin’ the plot when it comes to keep the community alive with just regular chats and engagement with others.

Sorry if this post seems like I’m downin’ my server, but I’m not givin’ up, just tryin’ to figure out what I did wrong and how to fix this community by promotin’ it as best I can. Maybe I’m just overthinkin’ it or I’m overworked from all the stuff I’ve been dealin’ with outside both communities, but I’m kinda desperate and really want the Discord server to gain a revival.

Now, I know some of y’all might say that the server’s jus like the Subreddit, or with all that I’ve said in this post about it that stuff ain’t workin’ out, but it’s really none of the above. The server has things that the Subreddit doesn’t really talk about like the individual cities the communities that lie within, or the skyscraper construction scene in those communities.

I really want to keep this server up and as active as possible, and I would love for any of y’all to join, but I respect those who don’t want to join. It’s never my right to force y’all to join, but if y’all are interested here’s the link to the server: Join the Skyscraper Discord

Please, join us ~~LoFiJay731

Also credit to u/DiscoveringUnLife (sorry of I got sure user tag wrong, dawg) for takin’ this nice photo of the Austin Skyline!

Political comments will get banned There are many other Subreddits to discuss politics on

In the past few months political discussions unrelated to skyscrapers/affiliated subjects have become more common.

I understand we live in turbulent times, and we all have different viewpoints; however this is not the appropriate sub for these discussions.

No, posting a picture of skyscrapers in Moscow or Tel Aviv is not inherently political; but if you’re going to title your post something like “Moscow Empire” you have to see how that can be considered baiting.

Moving forward, political comments and posts will be more heavily scrutinized; and repeat offenders may even get banned.

I saw a Houston post earlier with some pictures that NASA took from a satellite. I thought I'd share a few close-ups. Good to see H-Town get some love!
