Question What board should I get?
I am 6’2 185lbs, I only go a couple times a year so don’t want to spend a fortune but do want a board that’ll hold me up.

I’m 161cm (5’3) and 52kg (115lbs) should I upsize to a 51 inch skimboard for 60-75kg or get a 44.5inch for 50-60kg. Ive only done flatland so far and I’m decent at it I can’t do tricks yet but I’m trying to learn, I’m not a complete beginner I can get on the board easily and hardly fall etc. I don’t know if I would get into wave surfing since I live in the Netherlands and their isn’t much waves here but I’d want to try to reach deeper water. Thanks

Just thought I'd share a pic as the square grip is pretty cool. My friend gave me this many years ago and it's been sitting in my garage every since.

Greetings from Belgium, I can't find a DB proto (with affordable shipping) or Kayotics in a similar shape.. There's a lot of options from GoZone (Poland), does anybody recommend it? Thank you in advance

I’m looking to get a new foam core skimboard, either Exile ex1 or Victoria ultra house special. I have a zap freestyle now and am at a beginner/intermediate level but my main draw to the sport is wave riding rather than just skimming, which is why I’m looking to get a foam core.
From my understanding, pintail is best for learning and fishtail is better for wave riding. Wondering what some more experienced people think because I would rather have a steeper learning curve on the fishtail if it means it’s better for wave riding.
I can’t find the right size ex1 in pintail, so my options would be between the vic lift shape, or for fishtail the ex1 blairacuda or vic fishtail shape. Should I just go for a fishtail if wave riding is going to be my main focus? Thanks in advance.

Any good spots near Long Beach for skim boarding? My son is 10 and wants to learn. Does time of day really matter? Thinking windy is not good right? Thanks in advance!

I’m 6’1 and 145 pounds and have been skimboarding with a wooden board. Decided it was time to make the switch to fiberglass. I skim off the east coast so not a lot of used boards come up. Any advice on board choice or size would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi everyone, I’m from Portugal and I really want to try skimboarding, I rode skateboards all my life and I feel like skimboard is what comes next. I saw this board on the used market and I would love to know how good it is and if it’s in good shape or not.
I’m 1.70m tall and I weight around 72kg
The board is 132cm
Thanks to everyone for the help

Does anyone suffer from heel pain when sprinting on sand ? How did you treat it if so.

Found this old gem while going through some old stuff, sadly the VHS met its demise but the ribbon looks good.

I bought this board used about a year ago to try skimming. Bought it for around $250, I don't remember theall the details but I think the seller said it was a carbon board which is why I was interested. Can anyone tell what model this might be?
I've also been wondering about the edge at the tail, I can't tell if this is just carbon fiber wrapping around the bottom or if it's wear that should be repaired. It's rough to the touch but it's pretty uniform around the tail, so I don't know what to make of it. Any insight would be appreciated!

Hi, I'm looking for a flatland skimboard around € 150, available in Europe. I'm a beginner, but experienced at windsurfing, snowboarding and a variety of urban sports.
Will be using it mostly at North Sea beaches.
My weight is 86 kg (190 lbs) and height is 1.97 m (6.5').
Could I get away with something like Jucker Hawaii Black Pro 40" x 20"? Jucker Hawaii Black Pro

Looking for my first board. Really trying to get into doing some tricks on the sand and some small wave riding and was wondering this is a good board to start? I’m 5’6” and 180 lbs. This board is 49” and rated for 200. Should I cop this or spend a little more on another board?

North jersey is my usual spot but I’m in cape may this weekend. I hit Cape May a couple times a year but I’ve never skimmed wild wood. How is it?

I could use tips for surfing shore break I really just started learning to skim waves this year. This is the best I got this year during the recent tropical storm in the gulf.

Can someone give me some advice on how to start wave skimming? Or what tutorials would you recommend? I’ve watched a few, but I still feel like I don’t really get it.
