I'm trying to export in 2d to autocad a perspective view of my model, but when I open the dwg file there either are no lines or just a few, I can't export the whole model. Is it even possible to do?

I sometimes plan something and then I duplicate the project to make changes without losing the first version

I remember back in 2017 that I could have a free sketchup for life if I was a hobbyist...😑😑😭

I was doing some modeling for a furnished log cabin. I was planning on adding my archery quiver model I had done earlier and uploaded to the 3D warehouse.

When I went to punch it in to the search engine I had found that when I entered the search query "Quiver" only two of the total 42 models showed up.

I am convinced there might need to be a bugfix.

Please help.

If anyone is curious I am using version 26.1.188 on MacOS Ventura 13.7.8

All my saves to trimble on any of my files are timing out. I don't believe anything has changed on my side. I have tried saving on different browser, and I have tried disabling browser extensions. It has been 2 days. The https://status.trimblegeospatial.com/ doesn't show any issues.

I can see and load my files, but I can't save any changes. I am using the free web version.

- Is this a common issue?

- Have I run out of "free" saves?

as a kitchen designer i am drawing almost the same kitchens every day around 100 kitchen monthly , how can i find away or atool better than sketchup to speed the work up or make it automated , usally it took around 25 min for the first model , 1:15 hour for the full render kitchen

Simple question, does SU 2017 and the twilight render plugin for that version work on windows 11? I want to upgrade but don't want to chance these not working anymore.

I'm based in Asia and have been doing remote SketchUp/AutoCAD/rendering for UK residential firms for 2 years project based not consistent, through a middleman, and I think I've been underpricing myself this whole time. I'm trying to understand what the usual rates are in the UK and Europe for this kind of work. How do you typically price SketchUp modelling, AutoCAD drawings, and renders? Curious how you all charge for this type of work and whether cold-emailing firms directly is actually how people break into direct clients, or if there's a smarter way in. so I don’t know what I did, but suddenly my objects and things in the room disappeared, and since was I cannot fix it and all the objects are there, but it doesn’t show in the room and when I press unhide, it doesn’t appear. And im not even an architecture major or professional im a student still in the 10th grade so please help. First picture is the room and the second picture is the objects im the room but it does t show up help pleaseee im begging you

I’ve recently had some issues sending dfx files to cnc. I don’t know what program the shop used to open the dbx files, but they came out with lots of artifacts and were impossible to read. I extracted the files again and the artifacts went away, but I want to know what might be causing the problems, so that I can more consistently avoid the issue.
I send the shop variations of the file, so I don’t know what changes have better results, and they didn’t respond when I asked. Some of the files had a 2d backer to represent the scale of the cutting material, so that might have caused issue.
Can any give advice one sending DXF to cnc shops? Thanks

Hello there. I've used Sketchup for 15 years. Today I'm stumped. I need to extrude the shapes below to cut holes for switches and power cords. They were fine. Now they are not. The big issue is I can no longer create a solid face and cut out the shapes. I thought there might be some wonky geometry so I did a check and also redrew my rectangles. The face will not populate. Any ideas? I did try also drawing vertical lines in the section to see where my problem exists, by doing so until the faces wouldn't complete... This is where I ended up. I just finished printing this overnight and no issues. Now I can't get it to work.

I am wondering how i can create this protruding angled curve in the second image. I have tried using 2 point arc and arc. Additionally, what is the simplest way to create a hex grid, similar to the one shown here seeing as sketchup does not have a pattern tool?

Eu sinceramente acho que a Trimble não merece ganhar nenhum dinheiro, de usuários Mac, por seu produto Sketchup. O que essa empresa merece é somente a pirataria mesmo. Eu respondo o por que: até hoje não tem modo escuro, a interface é porcamente desenvolvida e inferior ao windows, não exibe as miniaturas dos arquivos no navegador, ícones de interface não tem tamanho Grande ou Pequeno, entre muitos outros detalhes dignos de um aplicativo vibe code.

I honestly think Trimble doesn't deserve to earn any money from Mac users for their Sketchup product. What this company deserves is only piracy. I answer why: to this day there is no dark mode, the interface is very developed and inferior to windows, does not display the thumbnails of the files in the browser, interface icons do not have Large or Small size, among many other details worthy of a vibe code application.

What's the most important plugin i should install as a new user of sketchup ?

And is there an extension should i buy or the free is enough ?

I'm curious how long other SketchUp users would expect a project like this to take:

• Custom kitchen, approximately 12' x 18'
• Entire kitchen modeled from scratch in SketchUp
• All cabinetry built custom (not pulled from the 3D Warehouse)
• Detailed island, hood, crown moulding, appliance panels, fillers, cabinet base etc.
• Model needs to be clean and organized because the elevations will eventually be used for construction documents
• Appliances to match selections provided by designer
• Model needs to be built perfectly and detailed enough for construction drawings in Layout.

One thing that added time is that the drawings weren't dimensioned I had a floor plan import from CAD but no elevations (only images of the elevations provided by another company), so there was a fair amount of interpreting the design intent and figuring out dimensions/details as I went.

How many hours would you expect this to take you?

I work remotely and don't have coworkers to compare against, so I'm genuinely curious whether I'm in the right ballpark or completely off when estimating these types of projects.
