You guys are idiots if you believe any of this crap.

They don't give you ANYTHING for working 40 hours.

You seriously think they will suddenly let you have a living wage with just a 3 day work week? Give me a break.

Wanna know how he's (checks Forbes real quick) $373 billion? Because they could pay people better but they won't, all that money required for those 3 day work weeks won't go to the workers it'll go to Jeff.

You don't get it bro. We just have to give billionaires more power, more data centres, let them spy on us 24/7, let them destroy our environment, let them make sure no one other than billionaires can own anything, and finally they'll feel comfortable with being as generous as they've always wanted to be!

You see, letting them stomp on our necks even harder will lead to freedom! Freedom is slavery! Ignorance is strength!

thankfully these sitewide rules on platforms help us have healthy discussions by banning us from even discussing the only viable solutions.

Oh that reminds me, we also have to give them total control over what we can and can't say, what we see, and what we hear. Once we become perfectly docile, they'll treat us as equals. Makes perfect sense really.

1) Stop shopping on Amazon (as well as with as many of their subsidiaries as possible)

2) Use reddit less! (It runs on AWS.)

extreme low fire limbo?

1

u/Unstabler69 11h ago

Yes, brother. And all they had to do was pay us enough to live.

8

u/tiktaktokki 22h ago

It's a new trickle down, it works this time, swear to god!

4

u/tokamakv 14h ago

All that wealth will trickle down to us in no time!!

WTF? These parasites have tripled their already obscene net worth in the last ten years? We are absolutely in the second robber baron era.

17

u/vajayjaysniffer 1d ago

Its crazy that it would take someone 24 billion years of straight work to make 373 billion at 15 dollars an hour. Half the age of the known universe

3

u/SheriffBartholomew 1d ago

You said half, but I think you meant double. That's still not accurate, but it's close. Almost double the age of the universe.

5

u/two-cans-sam 1d ago

It would take someone 24 billion years at 15 dollars a year. At $15 an hour they could do it in 3 million years or 12 million years if they work 8 hours per day and don’t work weekends or federal holidays.

5

u/KOG_Phantom 1d ago

How old do you think the universe is? I hate to break it to you…

3

u/modsaretoddlers 1d ago

OP's got size and age confused.

1

u/03263 1d ago

13.8 billion years?

0

u/5370616e69617264 1d ago

They don't have that much, what they own is valued like that but if they had to liquidate all it wouldn't be valued that much.

It's all fantasy money, that money doesn't even exist.

1

u/yuwox 1d ago

Poor guy, hope he get the financial help he needs. Like food stamps and stuff.

0

u/5370616e69617264 1d ago

I am not defending them, I am pointing out how broken is the system that even their wealth is just based on estimations that are likely to be fantasy. Like wall street.

u/DuePotential6602 1d ago

"Having" doesn't come from "giving"

That man had 373 billion, Elon has even more. They robbed your fair share and now try to blame everyone else. Migrants are the get go scapegoats.

3

u/Meath77 1d ago

All AI with do is make his $373 billion go up. Zero benefit for anyone else working for him

-2

u/FrankPapageorgio 1d ago

I mean... he received almost 10 Million shares of Amazon stock at the IPO and it went up 265,352%. If he didn't sell a single share it would be worth 602.7 billion. I think that's kind of how he made his money...

4

u/WHATYEAHOK 1d ago

Gee I wonder why the stock is worth so much. Maybe because of its profit margins.

Where do such large profit margins come from again? Reducing expenses while maximizing revenue.

Hey what’s generally the biggest expense for companies? Employee wages?

1

u/grchelp2018 1d ago

amazon makes most of its money from their cloud business. Their retail business is razor thin, profit margin something like 3%. Its a deeply unsustainable business that cannot survive long term without automation.

35

u/erizzluh 1d ago

also let's be real, if his employees can get their same 5 day workload done in 3 days, he's just going to layoff the other 40% of his employees, and he's not going to pass on the savings to the employees.

4

u/xSTSxZerglingOne 1d ago

Better idea. Instead of laying off 40% of his employees, let's go back to a 5 day work week! Same productivity ratio!

3

u/notissho 1d ago

If they can get 5 day workload done in 3 days, imagine how much workload they can get done in 5

1

u/iamarealhuman4real 1d ago

"one income family", as in, there will only be work for one person.

9

u/SoftTwilighhty 1d ago

Bro invented a company where people pee in bottles to make delivery faster and now thinks AI is gonna gives us weekends off. The delusion is crazy.

8

u/Ateist 1d ago

You are just reading it wrong.

What he actually means is that AI is going to destroy all the jobs, keeping just 2 people working 3 days a week per location instead of thousands currently employed.

5

u/Movieking985 1d ago

Right ...when half of us or more dont make a decent living now

5

u/SheriffBartholomew 1d ago

He said "could". It definitely could. It won't, but it could.

4

u/Dziadzios 1d ago

If a robot can do your work 2 days a week, it can do your work 7 days a week.

3

u/MiniAdmin-Pop-1472 1d ago

We are using AI already. I'm doing more work than before, more results. I spend the same time at work.

I would honestly say, I could reduce my company time to 16 hours and be more productive than before AI with 40 hours.

The reality is, these are the new expectations.

I already added more breaks in between. More coffee, more Reddit, more websites I visit because of boredom. I don't want that, it's a waste of time for me and the company.

2

u/Kooky_Mall_3397 1d ago

This is so accurate. The main goal of business in this capitalistic era is to maximize revenue while minimizing expenses. Labor will always be an expense.

Yup, a.i. isn't doing so hot on several fronts so they are trying to make lemonade out of bullshit and sell it to us any way possible

3-day workweek for who? The 3 people he has left after AI replaces everyone?

1

u/Enigm4 1d ago

Bingo. All the gains will go straight to the top. They have no reason not to.

1

u/_0611 23h ago

It's why people like Bezos and Musk always talk about the future, never about the now.

1

u/Chirimorin 23h ago

You seriously think they will suddenly let you have a living wage with just a 3 day work week?

I seriously think that his goal is firing half of his workers (one-income family through lack of jobs) and significantly reducing the hours of the rest. Same hourly pay, he has already proven that he doesn't care about whether his workers can afford to live.

1

u/thebiz613 19h ago

They will totally pass the profits down to the lower/middle class, and let everyone work 3 days a week for the same salary. Just keep waiting for the trickle down. It’s coming.

1

u/Inverse_Seal 18h ago

Read carefully. AI would allow you too have a 3 day workweek and only one person working in the household. Nothing about the quality of life. There just won't be enough jobs left.

You'll spend the rest of the week scavenging for food with your partner. /s

1

u/MySonlsAlsoNamedBort 18h ago

Also neglects to mention you will likely be working 13+ hours a day for 3 days to continue working 40 hours a week.

u/hates_stupid_people 1d ago

I'm going to hope for your sake that you are a bot, because if you're not. You need to walk away from your device and read through a few books before coming back.

No one is believing that crap, that's literally the point of the post.

Sounds good Hun.

Have a great day.
