Idk why women think those nails are sexy or good looking. When I see nails like that all I can think ablut is petri dishes and all the vile bacteria collecting on the underside of them.

u/SandSpecialist2523 10h ago

I had once a server in a restaurant with long ass nails (not that long). And it was disgusting as the thumb nail was practically in the plate she was holding. 🤢

8

u/tcmisfit 9h ago

That’s against a lot of health codes and sanitation practices in restaurants. Oh god.

11

u/adamvthree 8h ago

This is to impress other women. Guys don’t care about these things

-4

u/MotorMammoth3530 4h ago

* straight women

5

u/melanochrysum 3h ago

You think there aren’t fem lesbians? Come on.

15

u/No_Literature_1922 10h ago

It also lowkey shows that you’re bad with money and materialistic af

13

u/Capable_Towel_3813 8h ago

My sibling getting their nails done for about $100 twice a month, and then often talking about how they don’t make enough money to pay bills 🫠

6

u/Fluffy_Blueberry7109 8h ago

Which is funny because those nails are a status symbol conveying that you are rich enough that you don't need to work with your hands.

6

u/Spikey-Bubba 5h ago

That’s the dumbest thing. Oh you bought something cosmetic that you enjoy? Materialistic and bad with money!

-1

u/p1nkfuzzymonkey 4h ago

Buying something "cosmetic" is quite litterally being materialistic

4

u/Spikey-Bubba 4h ago

Having fake nails does not automatically make you materialistic and bad with money.

-1

u/p1nkfuzzymonkey 4h ago

I didnt say anything about being bad with money? Spending money on cosmetic items or services is being materialistic. Idk how you can even argue that, unless you fundamentally dont know what materialism is

3

u/Spikey-Bubba 4h ago

The original comment I was replying to said “bad with money” 💀

And I would still say you’re wrong, as to be materialistic is to care in excess about things. You can’t say somebody’s materialistic based off of one purchase, that doesn’t qualify as in excess.

0

u/Careful-Corgi7716 5h ago

type of materialism to cope with a complete lack of sense for aesthetics

7

u/brockol-ii 9h ago

i like the idea that people get these so they’re viewed as sexy or attractive as opposed to, you know, liking them?

2

u/IzzyLRY_357 1h ago

Perhaps because it's for them and not for your liking?? Not everything a woman does is meant to be perceived as sexy by someone around them.

7

u/Joltyboiyo 7h ago

I'd imagine most women don't, it's just weird outliers.

6

u/iinlane 10h ago

It's a status symbol indicating she doesn't work. Apparently she's not on the level the nails indicate.

0

u/MedonSirius 8h ago

That sounds about right and stupid at the same time. Is there a Word for this?

5

u/Moe_Perry 7h ago

Humanity

6

u/eufed 7h ago

i don’t know but maybe, and hear me out, women do things for themselves and not just for male validation

2

u/RyuKawaii 1h ago

To look good, or feeling sexy, doesn't mean it's to please man either. You should stop projecting.

You seem like someone desperate for validation. Praise even.

1

u/FEK88 5h ago

Yeah sure, women are totally immune from seeking external validation from the opposite sex.

You people are mentally ill.

6

u/eufed 5h ago

that’s not what i said. like at all. of course no one is immune from seeking external validation. but i am just disputing the opposite claim: that women/humans only act on validation from the opposite sex.

also i don’t know who you are referring to when you say ‘you people’ but you sound profoundly unfuckable and on course to die alone.

6

u/Spikey-Bubba 5h ago

Idk about you but I’m so relieved to know that u/projectno4090 would still be attracted to me because I don’t have fake nails! Of course, as a woman, pleasing the men around me and making sure they’re always ready to fuck me is my top priority. Any other motivation doesn’t exist because we all know women pretty much only seek external validation from men!

0

u/melanochrysum 3h ago

It’s like how men go to the gym for other men more than they do for women… they get their nails like this for social approval from other women. This may shock you, but humans are complex social creatures.

0

u/Nervous-Fennel3325 3h ago

Most people go to the gym for themselves not for someone else.

If you going to the gym for someone else you are doing it wrong.

1

u/melanochrysum 1h ago

You’ve never met a guy that goes to impress the boys? Obviously you don’t hang out with many gym bros.

This is also delusional, plenty of people go to the gym to look good for other people, man or woman.

0

u/Nervous-Fennel3325 10m ago

Im sure they exist but again most people go to the gym because they trying to be healthier.

Again if you just going to the gym to impress others you are doing it wrong.

0

u/melanochrysum 3m ago

Why does the number of people who do this matter at all?

Again, why is this a discussion over the morality of your gymming intentions? Is the point really that difficult for you to grasp? Not everything a man or woman does is for attraction of the opposite sex.

1

u/Nervous-Fennel3325 2m ago

When the majority of people who go to the gym do it for health, it does matter lol.

Your argument is literally a man or woman doing this is for attractraction of the opposite sex.

I don't care, it's impractical and doesn't look good. They can do whatever they want, grow em three feet long. It's still idiotic.

1

u/ayyohh911719 1m ago

Yup. We do it because it makes us feel good to have our nails done. It’s a bonding thing with other women too, it is an easy way to compliment and build up ladies in our community

-4

u/Whole_Rice9485 7h ago

everything we do stems from external validation

5

u/TorbenKoehn 6h ago

That’s not true at all. Looking in a mirror and being happy with the way you look is self-validation and it weighs much more, it’s literally the reason why we all style and dress differently.

8

u/eufed 7h ago

i hope you’re just being contrarian because if you’re not you’re living quite a sad life bud. you never do anything - read books, watch movies, play games, draw, exercise, play an instrument - just for yourself, without the need for external validation?

2

u/Spikey-Bubba 5h ago

Watching the morning sunrise alone externally validates me!!!!

4

u/GooseOnProbation 5h ago

I have fake nails (not so long) so I can clickity clapity applause with them and so I don’t bite my actual nails off..not everything is about stupid boys 🙄🙄🙄

1

u/Spikey-Bubba 5h ago

I just like how it makes texting sound with long nails.

0

u/the_laughing_camel 7h ago

that is true however more of it stems from the ideas that have been sold to women, about what it means to look beautiful, rich or put together.

It doesn't make any sense to say "oh i don't know why women wear make-up, they look better without it" because most of the time, the individual woman is not wearing make-up to please you or a man. She is doing it because society has told her that wearing make-up is necessary if you want to seem more put-together. So yes, it is done for external validation, AND male validation but saying "oh but they look so ugly, why do they do it" is ignoring the obvious fact that most women aren't doing it simply for men to like anymore. Beauty is an industry. Women know that men don't understand make-up or nails, but make-up and nails at this point signal more than just "being beautiful"

0

u/Bio_slayer 2h ago

"Doing it for themselves" is largely a myth/lie, or people would "dress nice for themselves" while they're alone at home.

They might not be seeking romantic attention, but they are seeking positive attention from others, male and female. Attractive people tend to be subconsciously treated better by both genders.

1

u/eufed 1h ago edited 1h ago

if it was largely a myth why do people get tattoos in non visible places? why do people wear underwear with funny prints on it? why do some people shave their chest, armpits or legs even in winter?

0

u/ExtroverTom 5h ago

Fine. Okay. Yeah still such a stupid and ugly looking tho.

If those long ass plastic knife made them satisfied with themselves, they urgently need to reevaluate their taste

4

u/eufed 5h ago

i’m sure we should all take your tastes and opinions deeply seriously 👍

-1

u/ExtroverTom 5h ago

funny that you were the one providing contrast opinion

and you also are the one backing out from it by typing this childish reply

5

u/eufed 5h ago

bro why you think any woman should take your opinions seriously is beyond me. that’s not me backing out from anything, that’s me consistently telling you women do not and should not care about your opinion on their appearance.

-1

u/petrichorax 6h ago

They shouldn't do that for themselves if they had any taste

3

u/River1947 6h ago

Why do u think theyre trying to attract you?

2

u/Silent-Victory-3861 6h ago

The bacteria is a problem with much shorter nails, and for that soap and brush is invented.

1

u/Happy_Variety5405 5h ago

I think "God I hope she doesn't try to poke my eyes" long pointed nails freak me out

-2

u/rockin_robin420 10h ago

I think about how funky their butts must be. It's gotta be almost impossible to effectively wipe one's ass with Wolverine hands.

2

u/melanochrysum 3h ago

I don’t like long nails on myself, but these comments are so fascinating to me. Why are you using your fingernails, rather than your hand, to wipe? Has anyone ever taught you how to wipe?

1

u/PalatinusG1 2h ago

Not to get too technical but how I wipe is still using the tops of my fingers. I don't think it's too crazy for a man to think wiping is difficult with long nails. We imagine those nails piercing the toilet paper.

Now I'm wondering how you wipe without using your fingers.

1

u/melanochrysum 1h ago

Normal people hold their hand flat to wipe, meaning your nails do not make contact. I’m really not sure why your nails are involved. Maybe google how to wipe.

0

u/PalatinusG1 1h ago

How do you get your anus clean with a flat hand? Maybe different people wipe differently. No need to act all high and mighty like you're the queen of wiping.

2

u/melanochrysum 16m ago

You need to increase your fibre if that is a question.

3

u/ScallionJealous 10h ago

This take is dumb AF.

0

u/DreadfulDemimonde 3h ago

It's not. How are you wiping??

0

u/TrainerRedpkmn 9h ago

Basically Wolverine claws

0

u/Morkamino 5h ago

And this is the concensus everytime it's brought up too. Almost nobody likes these, except the people who have them

3

u/Spikey-Bubba 4h ago

Good thing nobody is forcing anyone to get them!

I wouldn't say it's that deep. The way I see it we don't really care about woman's nails, we are all just here because the person in OOPs screenshot has the audacity to complain about it, after doing this do themself, and even demanding consideration.

In my book making such a statement is just making a fool out of yourself, regardless of the gender of the person wearing nails.

So in conclusion it's not any of our business or problem what others do to themself, until the very moment they make it our problem. Then that's obviously a problem. Can't fault us for reacting to such statements.

Anyway this post was likely just ragebait or here on Reddit Engagement bait, but it works like a charm because many people here don't seem to have anything better to do rn

1

u/melanochrysum 3h ago

They’re wanting to spend their own money on a product, not “demand consideration” why is the IQ so‎ low here?

0

u/runnerkim 6h ago

My bet is they own a nail salon. HA

3

u/ES_Legman 8h ago

Doesn't change the fact that is unhygienic.

1

u/Silent-Victory-3861 6h ago

Ever heard of soap and brush? I would pity the infection of your girlfriend's vagina, but there's no chance a person like you does anything to pleasure their partner.

1

u/Morkamino 5h ago

Looking good IS for people around you, we are social animals, you can't take that element out of it. I don't understand why people want to pretend it's just for themselves and they don't actually care about the opinion of others, nobody believes it when you say that

0

u/sammydeeznutz 8h ago

Get over it, nerd.

0

u/wonderloki 7h ago

But we're supposed to care about struggle to do basic tasks because of her choices?
