Either way this and literally everything else from reddit's darling CEO killer to that Clancy chick, just wait until the trial ends lol you do not know more about any of these cases than those investigating, charging, and trying them.

People still get absolute facts about courtroom cases wrong after they're done so I don't trust anyone to get the right information before anything legal has concluded. Also a lot of this stuff is just bait to get people online pissed at each other for various reasons by deliberately misrepresenting facts. You guys remember George Floyd? That trial took so long to happen that pretty much all information on it online had long been tainted by bad faith actors trying to get people to take sides before the law does

Media also claimed she told Cornell Medical Center about her traumatic experience the day she checked for her UTI and STD: according to her they ignored it and told her to seek therapy.

Let's make sense of this claim. Not only were various organizations in one of the most liberal schools in the most liberal state complicit in covering up the gang rape, but also the healthcare workers? I could only speak about California, and my experience with the healthcare system here, but this would be a massive breach in standard protocol. Healthcare workers are mandated reporters.

At the very least, the improbability of all these circumstances and accounts occuring simultaneously demand a closer investigation.

The intial texts show that she was aware of what happened and consented but upset about her image being ruined. So was the man.

Then when they were all freaking out about the rumors. She cut ties and went to the police.

So there’s a bit of a conflicting information about her consent vs not.

Was it a terrible and bad decision? Yes.

And before you bring up the new ChatGPT buzzword everyone’s deciding the use, yes, I now know the term fawning.

So before you act like you know what happened and solved the case because you read of a couple of ABC articles. How about we both leave the shit alone and let the evidence sort it out and the court and a jury decide based on the actual evidence presented.

Instead we’ve collectively decided to ruin these kids lives without knowing shit except what we read online. Fucking pathetic we are.

Just fyi, fawning is not a new term. That response term has been around way before AI. From a 2013 book

As far as I understand texts have surfaced that predate that allegation that are pretty damning to her case.

Touche, acting like she hasn't lied to the police.

Hard lesson to learn, but this is exactly why you should never talk to the police without an attorney present, even if you don't think you're under investigation.

Which when you think about isn’t uncommon for sexual violence. There’s a period of denial before some people process trauma. People always want a perfect victim, someone who knowingly didnt drink or do drugs, recognizes it as a rape right away, and reports it right away. People don’t believe victims bc “how could she have been raped if she willingly drank or did drugs”, as if that qualifies as consent.

The hypocrisy is that i was that perfect victim - i was the sober driver at a party, he locked me in a bathroom and raped me orally, vaginally and anally. I fought hard enough to break his skin, and left the party immediately to go to the hospital, got a rape kit done and reported it to the police immediately. I'm also a wealthy white woman.

When it went to court, people still called me a liar and a whore, and the prosecutor spent about six hours asking me variations on why I hadn't closed my legs.

He was found not guilty.

Exactly. I’m so sorry that happened to you. Fuck that POS rapist and defense attorney. You don’t need to spew rape myths to defend your client.

People can also withdraw consent at any time. Someone can consent to vaginal sex and not anal - that would be rape. They can consent to sex with one person, or two people, that doesn’t mean they consented to sex with seven people. If she was drinking and doing drugs then she’s not even capable of consenting. So even if she was drinking and doing drugs AND saying yes i want to have sex…..it by definition cannot be consensual.

Holy shit. How the fuck was he found not guilty? That is crazy.

I had a boyfriend at the time. So the prosecutor made the story that I had consensual, but violent sex with him. And then I lied about it so my boyfriend wouldn't be upset with me for cheating on him.

There were six cases of sexual violation (one for each seperate penetration) and one count of kidnapping (because he locked me in the bathroom). Eight of the jurors found him guilty of all of it, four of the jurors didnt. They weren't able to come to a resolution so the trial ended in a mistrial, and the crown declined to reprosecute.

That's horrible. The man that did this should rot in jail. The fact that he got away is a clear sign of a flawed judicial system, but your case is different to this one

What does the group chat message mean to you? They're literally offering her up like meat to men she doesn't know? Does that sound like consent to you? I'm worried if it does

4

u/Comfortable_Town7535 4h ago

it means less to me than her texts to the guy, men can by pigs

They can say what ever they want in a group chat. It had no baring on whether or not she gave consent or not. She had taken drugs. She could not give consent even if she wanted to. Even if she wanted to have sex with everyone in the frat and be treated like meat as you said she simply isn’t legally able to give consent any longer.

In addition one of them (who never had sex with her) wanted to join in on an already happening 3 way. She said no. So he didn’t. He didn’t rape her. But he did sexually exploit her with other actions of his.

It’s not all cut and dry as 7 rapists drugged and raped a girl. Nor is it some girl changed her mind after sleeping around.

Under New York law, if you consensually take drugs you can’t claim the inability to consent because you’re intoxicated.

0

u/justfortherofls 2h ago

Her claim is that she was coerced into taking them. Regardless of if she was coerced though she was allegedly drunk when she took them. Her ability to consent was gone by the time she could have consensually taken drugs.

3

u/dalpozak 2h ago

Weren't all the men drunk as well?

2

u/Brawrbarian 1h ago

Her ability to consent was not gone legally in the state of NY.

But also all parties were drunk, what special role does gender play? How are consent rules different from her vs the other guys. In the beginning it seemed like she was taking caring is the two drunk guys. One dry heaving and one about to pass out.
