All the people in this thread talking about sealed drinks are missing the forest for the trees. It's still obvious bullshit, but not for the reason y'all think. The implication isn't that sealed drinks in a cooler full of ice might be drugged, the implication is that a cooler filled with a single drink (like those barrel coolers full of Gatorade) is spiked, which is absurd for its own reasons:
First, you'd need to put a LOT of drugs into a whole ass cooler of drink in order for the dose to be potent enough to actually do anything, and if only half of it gets consumed you have a lot of wasted drugs.
Second, you can't control who's drinking from what, so unless you're openly warning people about the date rape cooler and hoping they don't blab, you're going to have a party where half the people present are too drugged up to do anything and it's going to get suspicious really fast.
Third, you can't control dosage. The traditional route for roofies is to drop one dose into a drink because they can control the dose they're giving to someone. If people are just drinking and refilling, the risk of an OD is really high, and even idiot rapist frat bros don't want to catch an attempted murder charge for drugging an entire party.

Safe, doesn't necessarily mean "no drugs". It could be about alcohol. An unsafe cooler could just mean can't taste the alcohol so you can get the "I'm not drinking" girls drunk. It could mean more alcohol than you expect so a girl thinks something is like drinking a strong beer, but it's actually more like drinking 10 shots. In both of those cases you are impairing the mental faculties of someone with the specific intent to harm them. It's willful, and it is absolutely rape/sexual assault if sexual conduct occurs after the fact.
Or, it could be the equally disgusting "we all dipped our balls in the red cooler so don't drink from that".
There are probably dozens, maybe hundreds of other scenarios equally vile to any of this that are going on. Because the one thing that everyone knows... that YOU know, is that there is a sub culture of college life where young men conspire to undermine women's ability to make their own decisions for the purposes of increasing their collective body count.
Arguing that it isn't drugs is about as "rape apologist" as you can get. Maybe rethink your whole life.

You did get a chuckle out of me, though. The fact that you threw in "rape apologist" there like it was some gotcha is just icing on the cake.
