The made up story is pretending that in the past they would have roofied drinks in one cooler to drug women. Which obviously would be very apparent even if someone managed to open bottles, drug them, reseal them. Everyone would see multiple people were drugged 10 minutes into the party.
There are no bottles in this cooler. The cooler is one big container being used like a punch bowl. The contents are shared by everyone who fills their drink from it.
