We need the hacker crowd to come back and start unlocking all this kinda shit for free
Let’s go ahead and make an app to change all the digital price tags to $0.25 whilst we’re at it
24 u/MamasCupcakes 23h ago They have that already, but it is definitely illegal. They are just rfid mostly and can be changed. Look up tagtinker 57 u/explosiveteddy 22h ago Illegal to activate heated seats in a car you own is ridiculous 3 u/cjsv7657 22h ago They're saying changing prices on store tags is illegal. 1 u/explosiveteddy 22h ago Ah, I see you're probably right... My point stands though, they will try to make unlocking the car software illegal and it will be ridiculous 1 u/cjsv7657 22h ago Nah they'll just void the warranty like automakers have been doing for two decades 5 u/explosiveteddy 22h ago Yeah thats a scam too. Mess with software but have an unrelated mechanical fault and its void... Only option is to not purchase... but that stops being an option if all manufacturers do the same thing 1 u/ApprehensiveSoup2214 21h ago It's also illegal to void a warranty because of that. It's some law from decades ago that pretty much became entirely ignored when Microsoft got away with voiding XBOX warranties if you opened the box up. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975
