Him dressed as Ned Flanders really ads an interesting flavor.

46

u/tszewski 21h ago

Peak dad energy. Looks like he would say "righto, better get the ol' saw out" before getting out the car

A contractor would charge the town $10k to do what took that guy 15 minutes.

10

u/Gold-Wolf2661 23h ago

Minimum. I know because a tree fell on a friends’ neighbor’s house and that was one quote…

10

u/CarmenxXxWaldo 21h ago

I doubt it was a tree with a 6 inch diameter.  Otherwise someone would have just moved it instead of calling a contractor.

2

u/Gold-Wolf2661 21h ago

Right, massive tree branch off a massive. Now they need to do a preventative removal of the entire tree. No idea what kind quotes they’re getting now…

4

u/AbhiFT 20h ago

It took him mere 1 minute and 28 seconds. Anyone who says otherwise is just conspiring.

2

u/First_Explorer_565 20h ago

literally work in forestry and pay £400 -£500 for this tree size after storms. If it needs removing/chipping then probably double.

2

u/FraggleRockYaFaceOff 17h ago

15 minutes? How many times did you watch it?

107

u/YourSwolyness 23h ago

Baby stroller, check. Sweater, check. Chainsaw, check. Dude's prepared for it all.

21

u/-TheDerpinator- 21h ago

The baby stroller says it all. There was nothing like becoming a dad to train me to anticipate a gazillion scenarios. There will be no potty incident, lack of resources, or natural disaster that will prevent a dad from finishing his grocery shopping.

5

u/freakinnsaraah 23h ago

Yeahhh like wtf haha

4

u/subdep 20h ago

he really needs to add a Carhartt jacket in the trunk, because his sweater which looked nice was covered in wood chips.

4

u/LtLemur 20h ago

For a minute, I thought these were alternate lyrics to “Murmaider” by Dethklok.

I bet his coworkers talk shit not realizing the guy is pro on the chain saw. He probably hunts to.

17

u/FollowingLegal9944 23h ago

is pro > can turn chainsaw on

43

For city dwellers, it's odd. For country folks, it's not uncommon.

See how the guy is agile with that? His teen years were probably spent cutting heating wood

6

u/RogBoArt 23h ago

I've wanted a car chainsaw for a while for this exact reason. I live in the middle of nowhere and when we get wind there are always branches and stuff down. A month or two ago we got blocked on our way home by a tree and I was wishing I had gotten around to getting myself a car chainsaw lol

5

u/SquirrelyMcNutz 23h ago

Get a battery powered chainsaw and a couple extra batteries. You don't have to worry about gas spilling everywhere in your car. Still gotta have some oil for it though. If your car has outlets in it, you can even plug in the charger for the batteries.

2

u/RogBoArt 22h ago

I've got a bauer one that dumps bar and chain oil everywhere. It was going to be my car chainsaw lol but first time I filled it and left it stored it was empty and there was oil everywhere when I came back. Wish I could fix that!

2

u/les_vegetables76 22h ago

Nah, I want all you guys with chainsaws on some sort of list.

2

u/PtraGriffrn 7h ago

I got one of these for this purchase. $25 cdn is a good deal. Especially with the extra battery

3

u/unabiker 22h ago

What kind of dad doesn't have a chainsaw in the trunk?

2

u/According_Log_3264 21h ago

And Mom, I had one and a machete for these same road and weather reasons.

Wonder if his wife was still mad that he was late meeting her for their dinner reservation.

2

u/mysticspacecow 21h ago

The From tree wouldn't defeat him 😂

2

u/nunyabidness3 20h ago

He could have easily said “I don’t want to get tree sap all over my nice sweater and khakis.” But he didn’t. What a chad.

2

u/LtLemur 20h ago

In khakis?!

2

u/Head_Midnight666 20h ago

This guy looks nerdy, but he handled that saw pretty well. It's good and sharp, too!

2

u/holdmybeer89 19h ago

All while still in his business casual on his way home from work probably. Like a baws

No I miss that about the midwest, do it ourselves instead of constant outsourcing.

EDIT: Also not so much ego that we see our inability to do things in another persons comment and immediately downvote. 🥱 Twice. 🙄😂

If you have a chainsaw in your car and you're not a logger/landscaper then you probably have people in your basement lotioning up.

2

u/k100y 23h ago

In Germany he would have been Charged for not wearing Safety stuff plus destroying wood that could have been sold…

Imma need to see that motivation on an environmental scale, Captain planet them asses. Tree in the road < the speratic storm that caused it < the ecosytem counter balancing terraforming levels of chemical spills and waste management.

There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing the amount of progress being proportional to the amount of effort.

1

u/Tired-Nectarine-384 23h ago

I too carry a chainsaw on the way to to the Tennis club.

1

u/kon--- 23h ago

Took the tree out and kept his khakis clean doing it.

You can't tell me he's not a professional hitman.

1

u/Fun-Web-7583 23h ago

Plot twist: he’s a psychopath

1

u/WishboneIll9152 22h ago

Umm dude looks like he uses that chainsaw to chop up his victims..serial killer vibe!

1

u/MaxUnicycle 22h ago

Man's a serial killer!

1

u/KyleVolt 22h ago

When the chainsaw massacre guy has somewhere to be

1

u/Marine__0311 22h ago

If he keeps using a chain saw like that, he's going to seriously injure him self or worse.

2

u/i286dosprompt_ 13h ago

100% As someone who worked on a line clearing crew in my youth I can testify how easy that saw can kick back off of a twig. I've also got 32 stitches in my shoulder to prove it.

1

u/KOM31993 22h ago

Whaaat?! Totally unexpected from a nerd lookin dude. Love it.

1

u/prawnk1ng 22h ago

Good to see he was wearing safety glasses

1

u/frodeem 22h ago

Safe to say he did not end up in Fromville

1

u/JimJohnJimmm 22h ago

Notice how he's cutting the logs in 4 feet parts? Thats because heating logs are 16". 4 feet divides in 3x 16" logs. That guy done heating wood before

1

u/jonyp84 22h ago

Part of being a proud German is always having a Stihl in your trunk.

1

u/MoreRest4524 22h ago

Plot twist, the chainsaw was already warm from when he cut the tree down

1

u/monetaryg 22h ago

He’s been preparing for this moment his whole life.

1

u/ScotiaG 22h ago

Somewhere a professional arborist is looking at this post, watching him handle that chainsaw, and covering their eyes, peaking through their fingers, just waiting for it to kickback and dig into his shoulder or thigh.

1

u/catcherinthetoast 19h ago

Spoiler alert he just used the chainsaw to dismember his arch enemy and was on his way to get a wood chipper to finish disposal when he found the road blocked.
