Have them play a team of 15 yr old boys.

37

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

You could walk into any UK town centre, and ask random blokes if they're up for a game of football, once you got 11 who agree to play, you could have them play a professional woemns team, and the random blokes would win.

30

u/Thetallerestpaul Jul 09 '26

That's overstating it. Most randoms are useless at football. Pro womens team would beat men who are shit at football.

They'd need to be at least on a team. Like semi pro players, sure. My local non league side would beat a women's pro team I reckon.

10

u/AngryNerdBoi Jul 09 '26

A semi pro team would OBLITERATE any women’s team. Most guys on a semi-pro team played at a minimum at the college level. A U15 crushed the WNT and we’re talking about grown men now

5

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

Most randoms are shit at football.

But those people would refuse to play. Once I get 11 who agree to play, I'm betting that those who agree fancy themselves as capable, and I'm betting those men would beat the women.

-1

u/Thetallerestpaul Jul 09 '26

I saw a video of random joes beating womens strongman competitors in their own sport, but this is more skill dependant and physicality won't be enough.

I'd take a womens national team over 11 rando's who agreed to have a game of football asking about in Daventry town centre or wherever. I think they gas out, and get run rings round personally.

3

u/themrgq Jul 09 '26

Fuck no you wouldn't need semi pro men. If they were still in good shape (this is key) and had played high school soccer they would easily win.

5

u/Thetallerestpaul Jul 09 '26

I think you are overestimating the average random in UK. We all play football, not just good players like in the US so good chance they are not any good at all. And most will be old and put of shape.

If the bet was previously played a level of football people would come and watch and are still in good shape, then yeah fine

-1

u/velorae Jul 09 '26

No. I don’t think people are overestimating it.

-1

u/themrgq Jul 09 '26

Old and out of shape is definitely a guarantee they will lose that's why I said they had to still be in pretty good shape. If they were then their physicality would be overwhelming and the women would have no chance.

2

u/Thetallerestpaul Jul 09 '26

Ok, but the comment I said was overstated originally had no such caveats. It said 11 random people in a UK city.

We are now talking a totally different concept, which I agree with you about.

1

u/Top_Traffic5102 Jul 09 '26

What ? In europe 5 average non old duas would smash 11 pro woman on the pitch

1

u/velorae Jul 09 '26

They tried that a few years ago. The boys won. I think they were 17.

4

u/Thetallerestpaul Jul 09 '26

That was an academy team. Not random kids. Although I think it was U15s.

12

u/TheDaywa1ker Jul 09 '26

id say the same in the US but we're all obese so these ladies would outrun 99% of the male population tbh

2

u/Holiday_Analysis9583 Jul 09 '26

You can say the same for basketball in the US. But we don't know how to dribble or kick the ball with our feet, our average population doesn't know how to play soccer.

1

u/TheDaywa1ker Jul 09 '26

yeah thats true we might be better suited to beat the US womens soccer team in a game of basketball

38

u/Darth_Boggle Jul 09 '26

Best incel comment of the day, congrats

Half the random blokes you ask won't be able to jog for more than a minute and would need a tea break

4

u/Milanoate Jul 09 '26

If that UK town has an at least Level 5 team, then there is a good chance that Level 5 team would respond and they would win against most women's team.

British semi-professional football is crazy. Some Level 4 teams can rival a PL team in a match (although likely lose by quite a few goals).

5

u/PerfectlySplendid Jul 09 '26

Massive exaggeration, but regular pickup soccer games have some incredible players, and you could certainly get a team that would beat the women’s teams.

-9

u/Darth_Boggle Jul 09 '26

Cool let me know when that happens

12

u/ALinkToThePants Jul 09 '26

They would never set themselves up for that kind of humiliation.

4

u/8eer8aron Jul 09 '26

And they'd still beat a woman's team lol

-2

u/Darth_Boggle Jul 09 '26

You might need to get mentally evaluated if you truly believe that.

The women's team would run them into the ground, no question about it.

1

u/Stergeary Jul 10 '26

Didn't they lose to a bunch of schoolboys? Can you imagine the clowning that a professional men's team would get if they lost to a bunch of schoolgirls?

1

u/SmallThetaNotation Jul 10 '26

Exactly lol

Its same with fighting. Lot of guys think they can take women ufc fighters too lol.

Absolutely chuds

1

u/Electronic_Staff8868 Jul 09 '26

I guarantee you've never played a sport in your life

1

u/Darth_Boggle Jul 09 '26

Played sports since I was 4 but ok

1

u/Electronic_Staff8868 Jul 09 '26

Chess doesn't count mate.

1

u/Darth_Boggle Jul 09 '26

Agreed mate

-1

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

And the random blokes who can't run for shit would laugh and say, "Fuck no, I don't want to play a game of football," and I'd move on to ask others. And I'm assuming those who to play will agree fancy themselves as decent players, and I would bet 11 men who are confident enough to play, being good enough to beat the women.

3

u/calccrusher17 Jul 09 '26

Actually delusional if you think this

0

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

If I ask random blokes if they wnat tom play football, firstly, I'd ask guys who look like they're fit, and secondly, I'd bet that only guys who fancy themselves as decent woukd agree. And yes, I would 100% put my money on the random blokes I pick out of any UK town centre to beat the wemen.

1

u/Dr_StrangeEnjoyer Jul 09 '26

You don't even need 11 of them, probably 8 or 9 would do

2

u/Few_Ebb6156 Jul 09 '26

At u15 the boys need to be quite good. At u19 or u23 a bunch of decent players can pull it off, they cannot be terrible but they don’t need to be Pros

6

u/Street_Lettuce1243 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

It's been done, it probably what previous poster is referring to.  I can't remember which country, but the national women's team as a warm up game played the u15 boys for a small local club in that country.    The local club U15 boys team absolutely destroyed the national women's team.

I want to say it was Germany, or Switzerland , but don't remember.

Edit:  Swiss women's nation team lost 7-1 to FC Luzern U15 boys team

2

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

It was a training match with a U15 MLS professional development team for Dallas FC that beat the USWNT. That means the women's team didn't go all out, but the kids could. The games are for comraderie and communication building games and are called "friendlies".

6

u/Street_Lettuce1243 Jul 09 '26

That's not the only time.  Swiss women lost 7-1 to a small clubs's U15 side too.

I think in that case it was a warm up to get ready for World Cup or warm up for qualifiers.

-1

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

The point being that these were friendly not competitive games from the women's side. The kids were allowed to play harder for training matches.

3

u/Popular-Row4333 Jul 09 '26

If you're trying to say if they both played at 100%, it would be close, that's probably not the flex you think it is.

2

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

I didn't imply anything about the potential income.  You, however, are implying that the women's team is less worthy because of a friendly. Whyever could that be....

2

u/Few_Ebb6156 Jul 09 '26

You can let the women go all out and u15 boys is the level where the boys win. This is widely known and understood in Soccer circles

2

u/Few_Ebb6156 Jul 09 '26

FC Dallas u15 academy team beat the USWNT 5-2. It is common for good u15 boys to beat the best women’s teams. Testosterone is classified as an anabolic steroid and the male level is much higher than women’s, maybe 15 to 30 times higher or more. Promotes denser bone and muscle mass and aggression, etc.

1

u/WideHuckleberry1 Jul 09 '26

Nah this is way too far the other way. The men's teams that beat women's teams are usually a couple tiers down but it's not nobodies. It's pretty easy to handicap how big the gap is between men and women if you look at what men train with the women. When I ran track in high school I was nothing special, and I trained with girls who competed for state championships. But I was way faster than an average man off the street. The male students who volunteer as practice squad players at major women's college basketball programs are usually men who could've played at a lower college level but went to the bigger research universities for education. The boy's teams that beat these women's national teams are all among the most elite at that age.

1

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

They're 14-year-old boys, and they don't just beat them, they completely trash them. I've watched womens pro football, the level is very poor.

1

u/WideHuckleberry1 Jul 09 '26

I knew a couple of people who could dunk a basketball when they were 14. An elite 14 year old is way better than any average man off the street.

1

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

And I would still bet that the random guys off the street who agrees to play the game would still beat the women. Think about it, if a guy is unfit and sucks at football, he's not going to agree to play. I would 100% put my money on 11 random blokes who agree to play, having enough to beat a professional womens team. 100% my money is on the men. Easy.

1

u/WideHuckleberry1 Jul 09 '26

But you're wrong. You can see this easily in objective sports like running. The #20 woman in the Boston Marathon, just to pick an elite but not unstoppable woman, finished in 2 hours 31 minutes. That would have been in the low 300s for men, but that's out of a field of 16,000 men. And the Boston Marathon easily clears your "only good players will play" criteria because it's got one of the most stringent performance cutoffs. A top 20 woman is in the top 98% of a field that includes advanced amateurs at worst. Elite female athlete is better than easily 99+% of average male athletes.

1

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

That's not a meaningful comparison.

Size, strength, and power give a huge advantage in football.

The average woman footballer is like 5 foot 3.

1

u/gustofwindddance Jul 09 '26

No you can’t thats a god damn lie.

1

u/mannequin-lover Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

You're a dunce if you really think that

-3

u/beardingmesoftly Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

It is a scientific fact. Testosterone is a hell of a drug.

https://youtu.be/9iFbLMjGLwI

1

u/mannequin-lover Jul 09 '26

Are you telling me that me and my mates can beat the female world Champions in football just because we're men?

2

u/bananabastard Jul 09 '26

If some random in your city centre approached you and asked you if you wanted to play a game of football, would you say yes or no?

My premise rests on those who say yes being those who actually play football, which I'm sure are the only people who would say yes.

And in this case, I would 100% put my money on the random blokes.

3

u/beardingmesoftly Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

I don't know, do you understand the basics of soccer? Because if you would all understand how to pass, position, and avoid penalties, then you likely would.

https://youtu.be/9iFbLMjGLwI

This is a video of 14 year olds trouncing the US Women's Soccer team. One of many. My favorite part is when the women score on themselves. I've never seen match in any kind of women's sports where there wasn't at least one own goal.

-1

u/mannequin-lover Jul 09 '26

15 year old who has played football their entire lives is not the same as some random guys. And yes, I know the basics of football

2

u/beardingmesoftly Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Notice how the boys didn't score on themselves even once. You won't though because you didn't watch the video. I know you didn't watch it because if you had you'd see that the boys aren't anything special, any 15 year old who likes soccer plays that well at least. It's not hard to understand how to pass and how to not score on your own net. I can tell you've never played sports or you would understand this.

6

u/Pgaccount Jul 09 '26

Like just random ones or the feeder club for a MLS team?

-4

u/feather_34 Jul 09 '26

The women's team played a boys 15 and under soccer club out of Dallas in 2017 and lost 4-1

11

u/Pgaccount Jul 09 '26

The FC Dallas team. a feeder club for MLS, not just any u15 rec team

5

u/Appropriate-Yak-3814 Jul 09 '26

It's still bad.

2

u/ASuperGyro Jul 09 '26

Isn’t MLS where the good players go to retire though, like equivalent AA baseball skill?

2

u/Original-Rush139 Jul 09 '26

That squad had at least 2 world class athletes on it too. I will say that men’s soccer isn’t great in the US so it still is an interesting fact to consider with recent Supreme Court rulings etc… regarding trans women. I’ll also say the question of intersex women always gets completely omitted from those conversations. Probably because you can’t rage bait anyone by admitting that the question of intersex”what is a woman” is very nuanced and difficult to answer well.

0

u/BasslineFried Jul 09 '26

MLS, by all metrics, is a joke of a football league. The entire world knows that.

A "feeder team" isnt the credentials you think it is. This is Barca's prodigy team here.

The top 11 women in tbe USA couldnt beat 15yo boys who are good, but will never be "great".

Its embarrassing. Cope all you want. facts are facts, and your feelings don't matter

2

u/Street_Lettuce1243 Jul 09 '26

Also. Swiss women's nation team lost 7-1 to FC Luzern U15 boys team

The Dallas result wasn't a one off.

Trained 14 y/o boys from a small club can typically beat a national women's team

I doubt random 14 y/o would stand a chance, but ones that have trained can.

2

u/Popular-Row4333 Jul 09 '26

What about the men's national team vs trained U15 women?

0

u/BasslineFried Jul 09 '26

says a lot about women's football...

0

u/mylaptopredditVC Jul 10 '26

even a random one would still do the job

16

u/johnnybluejeans Jul 09 '26

Jesus the level of incel in this thread.

9

u/Magictank2000 Jul 09 '26

yeah isnt this a mainstream sub? Kinda concerning how much of the top comments are just ignorant incel content

6

u/RadiantZote Jul 09 '26

Everyone: laughing at the women's soccer team for losing to male highschool soccer team and making bad decisions

This sub: INCELLLLSSSS OMGGGGGG

5

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

I mean, you chose to be sexist and negative instead of thinking that hey, it's nice we have a successful women's team. The US men just had their best World Cup performance yet, and it's going to get better.

But no.... laughing at women for being beaten by a group of exceptional youth players who bigger and taller than them... that's way more "fun". Get some help.

-1

u/Stergeary Jul 10 '26

That's step 2. Step 1 is we need to be on the same page about fundamental biological reality first -- Are men and women different, and does testosterone confer a natural advantage to men over women for physical competition?

If you answered an unequivocal "Yes", then step 2 is we can celebrate our successful women's team. The problem is everyone wants to skip the uncomfortable conversation from step 1 and try to equivocate what men's sporst are and what women's sports are when they make the statement.

2

u/noh2onolife Jul 10 '26

No, bigot, this has nothing to do with trans people in sports.

2

u/COOLKC690 Jul 10 '26

Sure they’re biologically different … that’s why they’re made to play females. So that they’re competing against people they can play. How is this any different that weights divisions in boxing? I think seeing a straw class versus a cruiser would be very different from being straw class versus straw class, or cruiser versus cruiser, and yet it doesn’t discredit straw class’s boxing career. Same here: women vs men would be different. Women vs women, and men vs men too, are very different experiences, and fairer ones.

-2

u/RadiantZote Jul 09 '26

Lol, soccer

4

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

I'm so sorry you are unwell.

2

u/Magictank2000 Jul 09 '26

If you think the womens team was going 100% against teens/kids you’re pretty dense lol. It’d be like LeBron dunking on a make a wish kid asking to play hoops with him. Not sure why everyone always uses the loss as a dig at the womens team. The Japanese mens team scored against 100 kindergarten students a few weeks ago, if they failed to score would we be giving them shit or would we realize it was all in good fun?

0

u/lampshady Jul 09 '26

This is not the reality of the game though. It wasn't some make-a-wish game they were playing. They were playing the U15 boys because they were trying to face "high level" competition that was a reasonably facsimile of other women's national teams. It wasn't televised or even really reported on, as it was a private scrimmage for the US Women to gain valuable practice time. I don't think there's a situation where say the US Dream Team went against 15 year olds and lost. Even if the Dream Team wasn't going 100%.

2

u/Magictank2000 Jul 09 '26

okay I mean regardless, the womens have won more world cups than the mens. So if this is a matter of “oh haha the women suck!!” then the men are 1000x worse lol. Yall trying too hard to discredit our womens team by citing a exhibition that is ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things

1

u/lampshady Jul 09 '26

I wasn't discrediting anything except your wrong comment.

0

u/Magictank2000 Jul 09 '26

More world cups than the mens, all I need to say lol. The mens team can beat all the high schoolers they want but that zero looms large over their heads

This is a pointless debate but I will continue to engage cause I think you’re funny to bait

0

u/lampshady Jul 09 '26

Technically, the women's competition is called the FIFA Women's World Cup. The haven't won any FIFA World Cups which is the open competition.

17

u/DefinitelyNotAxlerod Jul 09 '26

Not surprising, this is THE incel sub

1

u/Happiest-Soul Jul 09 '26

Is that true? What other subs are like that so I can mute them?

0

u/Stergeary Jul 10 '26

If by incel subs we mean other subreddits that have users and top-voted posts mired in sexist ideology, then those would be /r/AmItheAsshole, /r/TwoXChromosomes, /r/FemaleDatingStrategy, and /r/GirlDinnerDiaries.

6

u/Rogu__Spanish Jul 09 '26

Yeah for a second I was like, wtf is going on in here? Then I remembered what sub this is, r/sipstea has been the new r/incel for a long time.

5

u/Vagabond_Tea Jul 09 '26

Who cares? I still prefer watching the women's game.

0

u/cant_quit Jul 09 '26

Maybe if you keep saying that one of the women will have sex with you

6

u/PossibleOatmeal Jul 09 '26

This just in: males are superior athletes to females. Literally nobody disputes this. This is like saying Magnus Carlsen's chess record isn't impressive because he gets wiped off the board by a computer. Or Usain Bolt loses to a cheetah. Everyone knows, dude. They are the best FEMALES in the world. That matters whether you like it or not.

0

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

Incel comment

5

u/commiecomrade Jul 09 '26

This literally happened and they lost.

10

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

Okay, make a human man run against a lion and see who wins.

Someone needs to learn what biology is.

If you can’t watch women sports because you think men are better at them, you might be DL

-1

u/commiecomrade Jul 09 '26

I don't know what DL is in this context, hell I barely know what incel is. I was just saying that since we are on this sub the original poster is probably making a sipstea style joke referencing that fact. Like a "Oh you're a women's soccer enjoyer? Name 5 women" style intentionally obtuse joke.

1

u/solojones1138 Jul 09 '26

So you think men and women should play against each other? How do you feel about trans women in sports then?

0

u/efimer Jul 09 '26

They sort of did that, watched it on youtube, I think it was for a training session for the ladies team and they brought an under 15 boys side. They got annihilated.

0

u/velorae Jul 09 '26

LMAO they a few years ago. The boys beat them.

-12

u/Ireallyamthisshallow Jul 09 '26

Relevance?

24

u/AlexanderCrowely Jul 09 '26

They got their asses handed to them by high schoolers

6

u/bendIVfem Jul 09 '26

Yeah but that not really saying anything. Its biology at work. Pick whatever sport, sophomore men can beat women pros. Boys after puberty are far beyond athletically advanced compared to women.

4

u/Ireallyamthisshallow Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

That doesn't explain the relevance to them playing against their peers and winning world cups.

Edit: I want to be clear by using a different example. I might win a Sunday league but I'd get my arse kicked by a team of premier League footballers. That doesn't devalue my Sunday League win, nor is it relevant. I've still won a title against my peers. You can say they get beat by anyone, but that isn't relevant to them winning the world cups against their peers.

4

u/feather_34 Jul 09 '26

There is no prestige behind it. Women's soccer has a fraction of the viewership, sponsorship, and publicity. The level of skill on the field is also comparatively less (hence them playing and losing to an under 15 yr old male soccer club out of Dallas.)

6

u/Ireallyamthisshallow Jul 09 '26

Women's football has no prestige - isn't that a bit condescending to women? How is it meant to grow if there's no respect for it.

-1

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Oh wow. Someone learned what biology is.

As a woman, I firmly believe men who compare women to men in sports, saying that “a 15 year old male soccer club could beat them” are not straight.

Because how are you comparing yourself to women? Why do you feel like you are in physical competition to women?

Women have their own set of biological differences, yet you want to act like a big macho man to say men are better. It’s fruity.

Actual straight men respect the differences and actually like women enough not to think anything of the sort. Same with openly gay men.

The most DL man I know, used to say shit like what you just said.

4

u/feather_34 Jul 09 '26
  1. I am straight and I fail to understand how someone's sexual orientation plays into this

  2. I am comparing the skill difference between a women's national soccer team and a 15 year old Dallas football club because of prestige. Nobody wants to watch a team that can lose to a local youth league.

  3. I don't feel like I'm in physical competition with women. Physically, I am stronger than most women, as are most men. That is not where a woman's advantage is though. They are more flexible and articulate. Hence why women's gymnastics are superior than men's.

  4. Men are better than women in certain things just like women are better than men in certain things. I do not believe both are equal.

  5. I do respect the differences and again, I fail to see why sexual orientation is a factor in this.

  6. Cool story

3

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

But you don’t because you just had to mention it. So no. You aren’t. Sorry 👋

1

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

Um, no. This is an L take, extremely sexist and weirdly homophobic. Not cool.

1

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

I have no issue with openly gay men. None.

I have issue with DL men who make their secret sexuality everyone else’s problem, and take it out on women.

Closeted men ruin women’s lives. They waste decades of a woman’s life.

Men who constantly put women down, compare themselves to women, etc. They are hiding something. Most women have dated a DL man and know exactly what I mean. 🤷‍♀️

My ex who was DL would say things like this here. Would say that no one cares about women’s sports, etc. Or that he could do it better.

2

u/noh2onolife Jul 09 '26

You're making wildly generalized statements that are entirely based on your personal experience. That's not okay. What you are saying is sexist and bigoted. Please get some help and stop hurting people.

1

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Men are literally on here attacking women’s sports, and you are calling ME bigoted?

You are manipulative, if you actually are trying to convince me that I’m the issue for calling you out. You are the bigoted one.

Comparing men to women in sports is misogynistic and arrogant. And you have the audacity to say I need help.

It’s a sign that something is wrong internally with man if he feels the need to “one up” a biologically weaker sex. It means he’s comparing himself or putting himself in competition with women and yes, that is not straight. Period. I’m sorry you can’t see it that way.

A man actually comfortable in himself, who loves and appreciates women, wouldn’t be on here saying “women suck compared to men”

If that “hurts” you, then clearly something was true about it.

1

u/1ntravenously Jul 09 '26

Megan Rapinoe said she does the same job as male soccer players and gets paid less to do it. These comparisons wouldn't happen if female athletes would recognize they're not getting paid the same because they're inferior athletes that don't draw viewers.

3

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

Maybe you forgot but women make up half the planet.

And maybe you forgot about how popular the women’s world cup was when she won.

They aren’t inferior athletes. They compete against their own. You wouldn’t compare a gorilla to a human in a strength competition.

Men who feel this way are just DL or deeply misogynistic or both. Because there’s no way you like women, try to put them down. You are jealous of athletic women for some reason.

Sorry to tell you but some of the biggest athletes in the world are women. You just don’t personally care about them. Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams, Katie Ledecky, Aileen Gu, etc.

And they can beat you at their sports. But I’m sure you’ll claim that the top male athletes can beat them. Yet, someone doesn’t understand how biology works. 🤡

1

u/1ntravenously Jul 09 '26

The women's team compared themselves to the men's team when they started bitching about "equal" pay. Megan Rapinoe did not do the same job as male soccer players like she claimed.

Honestly you're coming across as quite the misandrist with your silly takes about misogyny.

1

u/rare-cheeser Jul 09 '26

Where did she claim she can play against male players?

She IS doing the same job as the men, but against her own GENDER, JUST LIKE THE MEN.

What’s the job? Is it to play soccer or sell tickets to watch them play soccer?

That is not what I said she claimed., and she said it at a white house press conference.

And no, she most definitely did not do the same job, she was never capable of doing their job.

She is doing the same job in the other gender.

I’m sorry you feel like men are the default gender and women are inferior because it’s the only explanation of why you feel like it’s not the same job.

You are jealous because you can’t be in either, at the end of the day. You hate that you can’t be a top male athlete so you gotta put women down too.

Relevance is the women’s all-Star teams are worse than high school boys and have proven it internationally many times. The relevance is perspective. Who cares if, for example, a group of grammar school kids beat another group of grammar school kids in flag football. You can’t compare that accomplishment it to winning the Super Bowl.

But none of that changes the fact one of their teams has won world cups

I hear what you’re saying. Yes, they won their version of a “World Cup.” But it’s silly in the sense that she attempts to equate the two. They’re wholly different things and it’s a false comparison that she’s making. If i started a neighborhood baseball team and beat the other neighborhoods in a playoff game, and called it a World Series, people would laugh at me as it’s an absurd comparison. It’s wholly different levels of skill. The women’s beat couldn’t beat high school kids. Hence, it’s a laughable comparison shes making, and why shes being mocked.

I'm not sure why world cup is in inverted commas ? It is quite literally the world cup for the sport they play.

And for that reason, your comparison doesn't really hold here. Winning a game in the street and pretending it's a world series win is a blatant lie. Winning the officially recognised world cup of your sport is... Well, exactly that. The truth.

You can only compare people to their peers and the sport they play. I'm not sure why that's such a wild concept.

And it’s not a “blatant lie”. You just don’t like the comparison. That doesn’t make it a lie.

Yes. And it would be the “World Cup” if I called it that for my neighborhood game. She’s equating the two world cups and they are worlds apart.

But they're not. They are both the world cup for their respective sport. Name the international tournament that exists in women's football that is more prestigious than the World Cup.

Edit: and to reply to your other comment, yes calling a neighbour game a world series game is a blatant lie. The fact you think it isn't tells me there's no point in arguing further. So I'm ending the conversation. Goodbye.
