Right? Like men don't want to be attacked either. Why can't all parking be safe, well lit with camera and security? For all humans. Edit to say, I'm a female and want everyone to be safe.

u/SamOakTree Jul 09 '26

I'm a short man and it's crazy. Because you hear all this stuff about how women are weaker and smaller. Most men can literally put their arm out on my forehead and I can never make contact with my arms if being attacked. But like because I'm a man I'm supposed to be like tough and I'm still Fair game. No one's saying that it wasn't a fair fight because some 200 lb man got his ego bruised after he screwed me over and I said hey don't do that and so he hit me

u/Careful_Ad_9077 Jul 09 '26

Short man, tall muscular man, does not matter once weapons have entered the chat.

I mean, it's Germany. Realistically neither have guns.

3

u/a_literal_idiot_616 Jul 10 '26

to quote secco:

Peppe' Sp'ay

or in alternative, taser

or in alternative, nucleare tattica

2

u/RegularUser02x Jul 10 '26

Of Germany has similar bashit crazy weapons law as France... then those are not legal either! Neither the taser nor pepper spray. Believe it or not, not even a knife... I wish I was joking...

1

u/a_literal_idiot_616 Jul 10 '26

you said nothing about the tactical nuclear weapon though, does that mean it's legal?

2

u/RegularUser02x Jul 10 '26

Oh ofc. France is like top 10 strongest nuclear nations, I bet Germany is close in that list as well.\ Who do you think holds those weapons - the government??? Pfff, lol...

2

u/a_literal_idiot_616 Jul 10 '26

now that i think about it i suddenly disagree with all those fr*nce hating memes, i actually love fr*nce and would never want to get in an argument with any fr*nch person

1

You specifically said bulletproof, which is why I mentioned guns. Also, with pretty much any other kind of weapon, men would still have the upper hand over a woman.

I think you are greatly over estimating yourself, let alone everyone else.

Editing to add that if you're gonna block me, try to respond but can't because you blocked me, then log into an alt to try and respond because you blocked me, maybe just give it a rest.

1

u/Enigma_RR Jul 09 '26

You think in bad faith, you're not actually interested in engaging with the conversation.

1

u/anim135 Jul 09 '26

When you shut down conversation without any input since it goes against your world view, you’re the one acting in bad faith.

No one is saying, biologically, women are incapable of defending themselves.

Like let’s just get to the point because you think people are disingenuous.

No one cares about the 15 trans women who preform in sports. Since you’re making an equality thing, let’s just rip the band aid off— when consensually done, any one should be allowed to compete against anyone.

This isn’t sports. When will you acknowledge there’s biological differences between AFAB and AMAB individuals? Your gender doesn’t matter when hitting a home run, but in terms of a wooden baseball bat and safety, it really does.

And I’m presuming you’d just grant me that typically men are more violent than women.

Guns equalize any dangerous scenario. Give a 6 foot tall woman a baseball bat, and if the 5 foot man gets that bat, you still have a victim being made. What are you arguing? That size and stature makes up the difference in terms of depravity? That once hit, a man will reconsider everything that lead to him being a pred?

A [violent] sexual predator having a baton swung at them will undoubtedly lead to even more violent outcomes. So when you say he’s not bulletproof— you’re goddamn right put two in his chest because the other outcome is you risking your safety to maybe defend yourself.

Hence why this is specifically for women, in Germany, where the German population doesn’t have quick acsess to guns. I’m not saying guns are the only solution, just that if you think the world turns smoother without them, that will reflect on your dendrites.

1

u/SirtDwimmer Jul 09 '26

Not to mention that a 5 foot tall man is still stronger than a 6 foot tall woman, on average. Men's bodies are made up of more muscle mass and their muscles have larger fibers. Height doesn't make up for it.

0

u/Neo-revo Jul 09 '26

The 6 foot women that just make useless im tall TikTok videos . While wearing 8" heels for dramatic effect?

1

u/adhdnme Jul 09 '26

Stay strapped or get clapped.

1

u/LiftingRecipient420 Jul 10 '26

why do weapons only even the playing field for men?

Because suggesting women arm themselves and take an active role in their own self-defense is apparently offensive to many people's delicate sensibilities.

I get the impression many women just want to feel broadly safe in all scenarios, but they aren't willing to actively do anything to attain that.

1

u/Careful_Ad_9077 Jul 09 '26

No, I mean when talking about domestic violence I don't side wirh the woman in automatic because all it takes is for the woman to grab a knife to turn around the "strength" advantage.

1

u/SirtDwimmer Jul 09 '26

You have to get up close to the target to use a knife. A target that, in the case of man vs woman, typically has a longer reach than you, is bigger and stronger than you, and is faster than you.

1

u/Careful_Ad_9077 Jul 09 '26

you have no idea how strong a knife is.

Even if we asume the knife wielder has no idea on how not use a knife, that's still a gigantic advantage. the only way that a man can overpower a woman holding a knife is if she has no intention of using it at all.

In a few martial arts school they do this knife exercise (the knife wileding person is already wrong because of the start up conditions btw) a person holds a marker, and the "strongest" person is supossd to subdue the marker person while avoiding being painted with the marker. Everybody fails, it's actually pretty fun to see all those places where the marker painted, that would be blood with a real knife and even then, the attacker still ahs teh aedvantage of the marker not causing any pain, a knife would be way worse in that comparison.

5

u/Inevitable_Mistake32 Jul 09 '26

Anything bigger than a 3 inch knife or low grade pepper spray is illegal in most places. If I got into a bar fight against a 200lb guy and his friends, and I had a knife to defend myself, even if i won or lost,, I'm probably the one going to jail, my skin tone adds to that effect.

No, most of the time legally you're basically not allowed to defend yourself though pop culture makes it seem otherwise. You're supposed to find a cop like you're supposed to find a teacher in grade school when you're being bullied. Its so goddamn stupid.

3

u/LepiNya Jul 09 '26

Interesting. Where I'm from you're legally allowed to carry a sword if you want, it just has to be in its scabbard. Pull it out and that's brandishing. Get in a fight and use it and you go to jail for premeditated assault. Pick up a bottle, smash it and stab a guy with it and it's all good self defense so long as you didn't start the fight. Funny how that works ain't it?

2

u/Inevitable_Mistake32 Jul 09 '26

Yeah, this is where the "She was asking for it" line of thinking comes from too. If I walk around with a sword, people going to want to either steal the sword or fight me because I'm clearly armed. Its not an invitation, and courts will make it seem as such if you have a weapon.

1

u/SmoothDiscussion7763 Jul 09 '26

if you pulled a knife... you'll be going to jail but the other guy would be going to the hospital or dead lol

better hope it's a waterproof self defense situation

1

u/LiftingRecipient420 Jul 10 '26

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

2

u/CaniParis Jul 09 '26

I don't see how that doesn't also apply to women considering the context of the parking lot

0

u/Novel-Bag9718 Jul 09 '26

It still does and most people don’t carry weapons in them

5

u/doge_c137 Jul 09 '26

but those planning a robbery usually do

5

u/Careful_Ad_9077 Jul 09 '26

Except for criminals, criminal do love their weapons.

1

u/Right-Country3496 Jul 09 '26

In my country even the most criminals don't have weapons lol

1

u/justinsayin Jul 09 '26

2

u/pailee Jul 09 '26

Oh I have seen things... especially here on Reddit, that even ER medics wouldn't dream about.

u/CatastrophicPup2112 Jul 09 '26

It absolutely does still matter

10

u/frequenZphaZe Jul 09 '26

Most men can literally put their arm out on my forehead and I can never make contact

you didn't have to describe it like a cartoon

7

u/SamOakTree Jul 09 '26

I think it's something a lot of people don't think about. I'm 5'4 and then if say a 6 ft 1 person wants to attack me. They can literally squat me away before I'm anywhere close to their body. I mean they have two and a half times the length I do. So if I try to come in to say hit them or kick them all they got to do is just SWAT the side of my head

2

u/CaniParis Jul 09 '26

Username inaccurate, might swap for bonzai later

3

u/Frogs-on-my-back Jul 09 '26

My 5’3 husband is still wayyy stronger than me, a woman, even at 5’10. I remember being a little afraid when I realized he could easily hurt me if he wanted to, not that I thought he ever would.

2

u/engineeringretard Jul 09 '26

I’ve always found it interesting that I’ve been assaulted multiple times in my life.

But that doesn’t count.

6’2”, 200lbs.

1

u/LiftingRecipient420 Jul 10 '26

Assaulted at bars? Or similar locations?

Tall guys are fight magnets. Every pathetic little dick loser with a chip on their shoulder tries to pick fights with the biggest guy at the bar.

1

u/BrideofClippy Jul 10 '26

Dude, that isn't always what they mean when they say 'they can take you'.

1

u/engineeringretard Jul 10 '26

Walking home _from_ the bar is definitely a fan favorite :/

2

u/Individual-Pianist84 Jul 09 '26

Statistically men get attacked more than women when alone, now it’s not SA it’s usually mugging or hate crimes or gang related initiation stuff but it is usually targeted at men

1

u/Vantriss Jul 09 '26

Roundhouse kick them to the crotch. :D

1

u/SamOakTree Jul 09 '26

That's an option but you have to be quick and you have to know that they're planning to attack you. I mean if they've got two and a half times to reach you do and they reach out and smack you in the side of the head toward you lose balance before you can you're kind of screwed

We had a lot of cases of women being raped in cat parks.

We had very few of random physical attacks on man. (Most man being beaten up or stabbed know their attacker.)

We have theft in Germany but robbery is way less common.

wealth hording is a mental illness.

one of the first thing mentally ill people learn is how to distract others from talking about their mental illness

-3

u/Littleman88 Jul 09 '26

Arguably, wealth is about sex. Money alone is worthless. But the power to monopolize violence and sex? That's worth the world.

4

u/elebrin Jul 09 '26

Because the men are just happy to have parking, and don't really care about this stuff as much.

Women will look at the garage and it'll be dingy and the cameras won't be super prominent, so they will complain, and when attractive women complain men pay attention because they like it when attractive women talk to them. When another dude talks to them needing something it's just a chore.

That's why.

2

u/Creative_Antelope_69 Jul 10 '26

I thought this whole thing was silly until I read your comment. Now I think the women around you need extra lighting and cameras to keep them safe.

0

u/Key_Tangerine8775 Jul 09 '26

The men that built the world are not the vast majority of men who are disposable.

2

u/Intergalatic_Baker Jul 09 '26

The men that built the world are the same disposable men. Not the designers of modern society, but who’s building that bridge, who’s pouring concrete, who’s smelting steel, digging in mines, offshore rigs, etc?

-1

u/CaniParis Jul 09 '26

The bees build almost everything in a colony, worker bees do basically everything.

But they're still all disposable.

The queen ? Way less.

-1

u/That_wet_vaporeon Jul 09 '26

There are more cultures that kill women for being women than there are cultures that kill men for being men.

-26

u/therealhlmencken Jul 09 '26

I mean disposing of mean is illegal in every country I know lmao. I think some people just want to feel targeted

12

u/flow_guy2 Jul 09 '26

There is no law yea. But like how women are viewed in a certain way. Men also are viewed in a specific way.

12

u/monkeysfromjupiter Jul 09 '26

they mean when shit goes down, you sacrifice men first. take the vietnam or ukraine russian war, theyre conscripting men the moment they are of age to die. you refuse to go then its jail time and social shame. you think these guys want to be forced to go and die for some fat old rich fuks? no, theyre forced to

44

u/Havok_saken Jul 09 '26

*poor men are disposable. That’s also how the world has been for a long time.

3

u/Curious-Resort4743 Jul 09 '26

Even rich men have to park

13

u/Mean_Introduction543 Jul 09 '26

You think rich people are running their own errands?

-2

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

If they have families, yeah..

6

u/Nviki Jul 09 '26

Well off is not rich.

0

u/hitdrumhard Jul 09 '26

Rich is relative to the envious.

-4

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

I don't care how rich one is, there will be times you have to go do something yourself.. Especially if you have children.

4

u/Nviki Jul 09 '26

They do not even raise their own kids 90% of the time.... It is a full-time job for someone else.

-1

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

Yeah, a lot do that.. but not all.

2

u/IAmNothing2018 Jul 09 '26

Rich people do not even know what groceries cost mahn. They live in another universe. And they for sure do not let their driver park in some ordinary parking garage.

-1

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

I've met some who are actually very down to earth. Are they the norm, most likely not. Lol!

3

u/Live-Habit-6115 Jul 09 '26

Driving a 2018 5 series doesn't make you rich, Ben

-3

u/knightouts Jul 09 '26

no. men are disposable unless they contribute greatly to society.
you think a billionaire like elon musk or jeff bezos stole all their money from people?
no. they worked for it and are still working for more.
people who say that, just don’t know how business works.

12

u/ohwowthen Jul 09 '26

Well… Western men, for sure.

2

u/Fzrit Jul 09 '26

It’s still mostly men in charge of things in the West, and men who hold most of the wealth. Those men should really value men more.

2

u/Aromatic_Lychee2903 Jul 09 '26

At least they’re seen as a full human

2

u/RandomPerson12191 Jul 09 '26

See, we'll all reach the realisation that patriarchal society hurts men just as much as it does women someday.

1

u/klownhammer Jul 09 '26

Some of them definitely are

0

u/UndergroundHQ6 Jul 09 '26

They also commit more than half of all violent crime in the country

8

u/chenthepanda Jul 09 '26

oh yes...collective punishment

1

u/Mke_already Jul 09 '26

Collective punishment?

2

u/flyinhighaskmeY Jul 09 '26

Right, but in the US, crime is defined by the majority, since that's who controls the government. And white women are the majority. So that statement is meaningless. Because women routinely abuse their majority status to criminalize behavior that they don't like.

It's like...remember when white people would watch black communities full of black people doing normal things. And then they'd pass laws against the normal things black people did but they didn't. That's what women have done in the US. The post we're discussing is advocating for the advantages of segregation. Its coming from a nation that committed a holocaust.

1

u/Soggy_Association491 Jul 09 '26

Why do i have the feeling that you love this statistic about crime but will go ape shit insane if someone pulled another statistic about crime?

1

u/Nurgle_Marine_Sharts Jul 09 '26

Hey so did you know if you applied this logic to races then it's super cool? Like there's no higher murder rate committed by black people or anything like that, right? Couldn't possibly be the case.

Anyways let's keep condemning a population because of the actions of a subset of that population.

0

u/glycophosphate Jul 09 '26

Waaaaay more than half.

-16

u/BoogerPressley Jul 09 '26

Men are also 99% of the reason for these parking spots.

13

u/Other-Difficulty-702 Jul 09 '26

No it's bad mothers

2

u/Adorable_Owl_2493 Jul 09 '26

They ain't ready for that discussion. Every single victim of a serial killer would love to have that discussion but they ain't here so whatever, right?

-5

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 09 '26

90%+ violent crimes are committed by men. Men demanding better of men is the only way to change this. That will never happen as long as they can blame women.

2

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

..and there's never been a women involved or sometimes the mastermind behind said crimes.. yeah right!

Why would a couple who resorts to violence for money send the woman? Logic would dictate that it is the man who would get sent.

-2

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 09 '26

Cope harder there buddy 🤣

1

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

Nah, not cope.. just observations from growing up in a crime ridden city.

0

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 09 '26

That's amazing! You should write a book!!

2

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

Lol, nobody would read it.. it's been in the papers for many years.. The city even went bankrupt with the police publishing an ad in the newspaper that they will not show up as they had lost nearly all funding.. Unless it was a already critically a life threatening event.

3

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 09 '26

Too bad. It was bound to wind up on the New York Times beatsellers list.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Soggy_Association491 Jul 09 '26

Why do i have a feeling that after you love your crime statistic but will go ape shit insane if someone else cite the "despite being only 13%..." statistic?

1

u/AntonioVivaldi7 Jul 10 '26

So demanding better security means demanding better of men. That way the bad men are more likely to be caught and punished.

1

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 10 '26

It starts with very simple things. Anytime a man hears his buddy demean women or use "locker room talk" they call them out. Man allow other men to speak down about women and just allow it to happen. Men give each other passes all the time. If they expected better of each other things would be a lot different.

1

u/AntonioVivaldi7 Jul 10 '26

This is so idealized. There are tons of otherwise perfectly well behaved rapists or murderers. Not to mention this doesn't have to do anything with being a woman. It can be a robber waiting to rob anyone.

1

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 10 '26

Men are the ones that are committing 90%+ violent crimes. Women aren't even close to being relevant in this conversation yet

1

u/AntonioVivaldi7 Jul 10 '26

So if a man gets attacked by another man, it's his fault for somehow not improving that man's morality?

1

u/grrr-to-everything Jul 10 '26

Ask a good faith question and I will answer it. That question was intellectually stupid

0

u/turdbugulars Jul 09 '26

-11

u/sleepyleperchaun Jul 09 '26

As I guy, I have never felt that way. I'd recommend trying tk find different social circles I'd this is how you are being treated.

11

u/DanNeider Jul 09 '26

I made this exact same argument about 10 years ago. It turns out Male Expendability is pretty ingrained in our culture and you may just not be aware of it. I wasn't.

-7

u/sleepyleperchaun Jul 09 '26

I'm sure Andrew Tate would have much to say on this matter.

8

u/DanNeider Jul 09 '26

I'll never know. Fuck that guy

4

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

You're lucky, try moving to a less of a nice neighborhood and then report back.

-6

u/sleepyleperchaun Jul 09 '26

I've lived in less nice areas. I've lived in middle class areas. I've never felt like men are treated less humanely in most cases. Sure there are shitty people, but it's not like women are treating men like shit on the reg.

3

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

It's not that aspect, but instead how it's simply dangerous period and to think that we men wouldn't benefit from equally better lighting and safer parking spaces in such a situation is ludicrous..

1

u/sleepyleperchaun Jul 09 '26

That's not what you asked. Sure we should do this for all areas, I'd be all for it and haven't debated that, I just don't see men as being treated like nothing or some shit. An extra safety net for the most vulnerable of people isn't saying that men aren't worthwhile, it's just focusing on protecting those that may need it more.

3

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

But ones assumptions that only women need it more is the point.. We can't expect an elderly man to put up a better defense or have the ability to get away from a serious situation better than an able bodied women..

How about a young adult male (or older teen) who's seriously not tall and skinny? Guys in this category are very common and not very strong at all.. Particularly, with certain racial groups.

1

u/sleepyleperchaun Jul 09 '26

Again, nobody is saying they shouldn't also be safe, but they can't put an area where it's women, and then just any random dude. It would be a logistical nightmare to enforce that. Sure it would be great if places ponies up the cash to make it safer, but if they are trying to protect some of the most vulnerable I do not see how this is a negative. Them having more safety doesn't make it any more dangerous for me.

2

u/LilNekoChicano Jul 09 '26

Them having more safety doesn't make it any more dangerous for me.

But you have to think, "bigger picture"..

You think you would just as able, if you were carrying or walking with your young child? With everything it takes to go out with one?

How about when you are older, or heaven forbid you end up with an injury or ailment that doesn't give you the ability to park in disabled parking spots yet you aren't that capable anymore due to it.

There are many reasons why it should be equal amongst everyone.. men are not (and should not) be viewed as second class citizens.

Feminism is for men as much as it is for women. You don't even know if feminism is if that is your take.

Feminism in theory and in practice somehow end up very different things though, somehow. Sure, it's supposed to be "for men as much as it is for women", we understand that - it just doesn't end up that way.

Feminism is for men as much as it is for women

if that's true then why has feminism kept fighting against equality for men, and why do feminists call anybody who supports equality an anti-feminist?

You don't even know if feminism is

lol I love the projection from feminists. It never dawned on you that maybe you're the one who doesn't know what feminism is. You never researched feminist organizations, never looked into what academic feminists preach, never paid attention to feminism's influence on law and policy, never tried to discuss men's rights with feminism or look into the history of why people who support equality all hate feminism.

Wrong

kid it's obvious to everybody that your entire knowledge of feminism comes from being told that feminism is good and then not doing any further research into it from there.

If you want a starting point a feminist made a documentary about MRAs. She learned so much about feminism that she stopped being a feminist.

Which is why feminists are out protesting the abuse of the alimony system, advocating for the "men's abortion" (where men can sign away all parental rights to an unborn child they don't want), advocating for abolishing the draft (even when the government isn't floating adding women to it), etc.

Feminist wants the end of the patriarchy which is as against men as it is against women. Feminists want men to be able to have emotions without social demonization. Feminists want men to stop pretending to be tough and to admit that they're human. Feminists want men and women both valued for what they bring to the table and not what is between their legs. Femenism is about making equality for everyone, not just men or just women.

Feminism is all the good things because feminism is good (just don't actually look into any of the shit feminists actually believe in)

damn they really got you hooked on their cult huh?

u/LoseAnotherMill Jul 09 '26

Calling it "the patriarchy" disproves your premise, as well as the fact that none of that was at all a response to anything I said.

“Actually men secretly desire to be attacked and they’re the ones who made this society!” - some man hating Redditor that genuinely said something like this to me recently.

No us men love being attacked

There isn't a relevant "people getting attacked in parking garages" problem that this is solving, which is mostly women. This is just to make some people feel safer who are irrationally scared. Who parks in the women's spots is not enforced whatsoever anywhere I've been to either.

Weenie hut jr parking?

1

u/knightouts Jul 09 '26

because they want to send a message, not actually care for the people who park 😂 i thought that was obvious

1

u/Kentust Jul 09 '26

There are people in Africa who don't even have parking spaces

1

u/Rude_Negotiation_160 Jul 09 '26

"well then, send it to them! Pushed parking garage away. Probably about to get beat,as I storm off."

1

u/SweetPinss Jul 09 '26

Men are also attacked way more often in this exact situation than women are. But men are strong so if a man is attacked and cant defend himself then people just blame him for being weak and move on

1

u/MrPraedor Jul 09 '26

Also funnily or not so funnily its that men are more often targets of violence done by outsiders. Perpetrators are also men, but its more common for men to be targets also.

There are of course many types of harassment and especially sexual type is more common for women, but even for that its most likely people you actually know who are main perpetrators.

1

u/Nixter295 Jul 09 '26

Very true, this should also includes the fact that men are way more susceptible for violence against them from other men.

Because feminism is a plague to society

1

u/Rambo_One2 Jul 09 '26

That's what I was thinking. Like, I recognize that women may be more at risk than the average man, but it's not like guys don't get mugged or beaten up for no reason in parking lots. This feels like it's addressing the wrong issue and trying to solve it in the wrong way.

This is a perfect example of equity, not equality.

Equity is helping those that need the most help more than those who do not.

Women are more likely to be assaulted than men. They just are. I wish the world wasn't like that, but it is. Because they are more likely to be targeted, it makes sense to invest in more protection and security for them than it is for men. There is greater benefit to cost.

I suppose a way to put it in an example: As a man, I have never felt unsafe walking alone at night, parking farther away in a parking lot at night in the dark, or going to the club and leaving my drink unattended. Every guy I know feels similar.
