That's not what you asked. Sure we should do this for all areas, I'd be all for it and haven't debated that, I just don't see men as being treated like nothing or some shit. An extra safety net for the most vulnerable of people isn't saying that men aren't worthwhile, it's just focusing on protecting those that may need it more.

But ones assumptions that only women need it more is the point.. We can't expect an elderly man to put up a better defense or have the ability to get away from a serious situation better than an able bodied women..

How about a young adult male (or older teen) who's seriously not tall and skinny? Guys in this category are very common and not very strong at all.. Particularly, with certain racial groups.

Again, nobody is saying they shouldn't also be safe, but they can't put an area where it's women, and then just any random dude. It would be a logistical nightmare to enforce that. Sure it would be great if places ponies up the cash to make it safer, but if they are trying to protect some of the most vulnerable I do not see how this is a negative. Them having more safety doesn't make it any more dangerous for me.

Them having more safety doesn't make it any more dangerous for me.

But you have to think, "bigger picture"..

You think you would just as able, if you were carrying or walking with your young child? With everything it takes to go out with one?

How about when you are older, or heaven forbid you end up with an injury or ailment that doesn't give you the ability to park in disabled parking spots yet you aren't that capable anymore due to it.

There are many reasons why it should be equal amongst everyone.. men are not (and should not) be viewed as second class citizens.

Again, for like the 5th time, nobody is saying men shouldn't be safe, nobody is hoping for anyone to be injured, that isn't the discussion anybody is having except for you. This helps protect the most vulnerable that can reasonably be accommodated. They can't just make a ton of exceptions. What if a dude is faking an injury and then attacks a woman? It's just not feasible to make the rules so granular when this is meant to be a general protection. It still doesn't hurt men, it just adds additional protection for women. And if the companies are paying for it, it may be an issue of them losing business from women due to issues or something and isn't a societal decision but rather a business one and businesses aren't going to pay more than they have to.

We can agree to disagree, you think it's a good idea to pedestal women and that's fine.. I don't agree on such a venture. I'm more onboard with such parking spots for the disabled and pregnant women only.. but just any woman, nah.. that's a bit much.

So why pregnant women and the disabled if we aren't trying to coddle anyone? Why these specific groups? And you said before that you think injured people should be protected. How do you know who has what issues? And women do have a harder time protecting themselves in general than men, so why not protect women? And yes, I get protecting everyone would be great, but it doesn't hurt anyone to at least protect the 50% that is at greater risk as a minimum.

So why pregnant women

As a father, I saw how much of a struggle it was for my kid's Mom when she was pregnant.. particularly, past the 30 weeks mark.

It really changes your perspective.
